मौन ही व्याख्यान है
एक लड़कीका पति आया है। वह अपने बराबरीके युवकोंके साथ बाहरवाले कमरेमें बैठा है। इधर वह लड़की और उसकी सहेलियाँ खिड़कीसे देख रही हैं। सहेलियाँ उसके पतिको नहीं पहचानतीं। वे उस लड़कीसे पूछ रही हैं- ‘क्या वह तेरा पति है?’ लड़की मुसकराकर कहती है—’नहीं!’ एक दूसरे युवकको दिखलाकर वे पूछती हैं, ‘क्या वह तेरा पति है?’ वह फिर कहती है-‘नहीं!’ एक तीसरे युवकको दिखाकर वे फिर पूछती हैं, ‘क्या वह तेरा पति है?’ वह फिर कहती है-‘नहीं!’ अन्तमें उसके पतिकी ओर इशारा करके उन्होंने पूछा ‘क्या वह तेरा पति है?’ तब उसने ‘हाँ’ या ‘नहीं’ कुछ नहीं कहा; केवल मुसकरायी और चुप्पी साध ली। तब सहेलियोंने समझा कि वही इसका पति है।
ऐसे ही, जहाँ ठीक ब्रह्मज्ञान होता है, वहाँ सब चुप हो जाते हैं। वहाँ मौन ही व्याख्यान होता है और सारे संशय छिन्न-भिन्न हो जाते हैं। कहा भी गया है— ‘जाने सो बोलै नहीं, बोलै सो अनजान।’
silence is a lecture
A girl’s husband has come. He is sitting in the outer room with young men of his age. Here the girl and her friends are watching from the window. Friends do not recognize her husband. She is asking that girl – ‘Is he your husband?’ The girl smiles and says – ‘No!’ Showing another young man, she asks, ‘Is he your husband?’ She again says – ‘No!’ Pointing to a third young man, she again asks, ‘Is he your husband?’ She again says – ‘No!’ Finally, pointing to her husband, he asked, ‘Is he your husband?’ Then he didn’t say ‘yes’ or ‘no’; Just smiled and kept silent. Then the friends thought that he was her husband.
Similarly, where there is proper knowledge of Brahman, everyone becomes silent there. There only lectures are held in silence and all doubts are dispelled. It has also been said – ‘I didn’t speak when I knew, I spoke so unknown’.
