राधा केवल गोविन्द की सखी ही नहीं,उनकी प्रेयसी और उनकी प्राणवल्लभ भी हैं।
कृष्ण के भीतर जो प्रेम आह्लाद और रस का भाव है, वही राधा है। इस लिए राधा को कृष्ण की आत्मा कहा गया है। अपने इसी रूप के जरिये गोविन्द ने संसार को प्रेम और आह्लाद के रस से सींचा।
राधा जी मात्र कृष्ण की प्रेयसी ही नहीं बल्कि उनकी सम्पूर्णता है। उनकी पटरानियों में नाम नहीं होते हुए भी वह कृष्ण के जीवन और व्यक्तित्व का ऐसा हिस्सा हैं, जिनके बिना कृष्ण की कल्पना अधूरी है।
‘ राधे बिन श्याम आधे ‘ दरअसल ,गोविन्द ब्रह्म हैं तो राधा उनकी आद्या शक्ति। कृष्ण पुरुषहैं तो राधा प्रकृति। पुरुषऔर प्रकृति का यही सम्बन्ध सृष्टि का आधार है।
इसी से सृष्टि की रचना हुई जिस में प्रकृति और पुरुष के बीच का सांमजस्य और प्रेम हर और दिखाई देता है। उसी तरह प्रेम और आह्लाद का सन्देश देने के लिए उन्होंने राधा को रचा। अपने इसी रूप से रमण करके वे राधा रमण कहलाए।
दरअसल राधा और कृष्ण का सम्बन्ध आत्मा और परमात्मा का है। आत्मा और परमात्मा के इसी मिलन से रस और आनन्द तब भी बरसता था,जब कृष्ण ,राधा के साथ साथ असंख्य गोपिकाओं के साथ महारास करते थे।
राधा कृष्ण के सम्बन्ध को समझना जितना आसान उतना ही कठिन। राधा कृष्ण के प्रेम को गोविन्द की पटरानियाँ भी नहीं समझ पाई थी कथा आप को पता ही है जब गर्म दूधराधा जी ने पिया था। तो रूक्मणी जी ने गोविन्द के पैरो पर छाले देख कर पूछा तो गोविन्द ने कहा-
हर सांस,हर कर्म तो राधा का मुझे समर्पित है
जो गर्म दूध उसने पिया वह मेरे लिए था।वह कर्म भी वह बस्तु भी और उसका परिणाम भी। साथ ही श्री राधा के हृदय में हर पल मेरे चरण निवास करते है। उस गर्म दूधका सीधा प्रभाव मेरे चरणों पर पड़ा।
राधा का यही समर्पण उन्हें प्रेम में अनूठी जगह दिलाता है।राम की निष्ठां एक पत्नी की थी ,अतः राम से पहले सीता का नाम जुड़ने का सम्मान जानकी जी को मिला।
16108 पत्नियाँ होने पर भी अगर नाम जुडा तो राधा का। शायद इस लिए कि राधा प्रेम और भक्ति का वह मार्ग है जिसे अपनाकर कृष्ण तक पहुंचा जा सकता है।
स्त्री होने के नाते कृष्ण के प्रति प्रेम और एकाधिकार राधा का दिखाई देता है लेकिन स्त्री सुलभ ईर्ष्या उन में वैसी नहीं दिखती जैसी अन्यो में।थोड़ी बहुतअगर है
तो अन्य गोपिकाओं के प्रति नहीं बल्कि उस बांस की बंसी के प्रति जिसे गोविन्द का हर पल सनिद्धिया मिलता है राधा में गोविन्द के सानिद्ध्य की यह चाह इस हदतक है
कि धीरे धीरे वह कृष्ण के व्यक्तित्व में एकाकार हो जाती है।
जीवन के संध्या काल में जब राधा को गोविन्द के महाप्रयाण का समाचार मिलता है वे हंसती हैं और फिर संदेश देने वाले से ही पूछती हैं -” अच्छा श्याम चले गए ?
मगर कहाँ ?
देखो वो यही तो हैं ,यमुना के जल में, आम्र कुंजों में, यहाँ तक की व्रज रज में भी।” राधा जी का यही भाव प्रेम का सब से उदात्त भाव माना गया है।

Radha is not only Govind’s friend, but also his lover and his life partner.
The feeling of love, joy and rasa within Krishna, that is Radha. That’s why Radha is called Krishna’s soul. Through this form of his, Govind irrigated the world with the juice of love and joy.
Radha ji is not only Krishna’s beloved but is his completeness. Despite not having a name in his concubines, he is such a part of Krishna’s life and personality, without whom Krishna’s imagination is incomplete.
‘ Radhe Bin Shyam Aadhe ‘ In fact, if Govinda is Brahman, then Radha is his primary power. Krishna is the Purusha and Radha is the Nature. This relationship between man and nature is the basis of creation.
This created the universe in which harmony and love between nature and man is visible everywhere. Similarly, he created Radha to give the message of love and happiness. By doing Raman in this form, he was called Radha Raman.
Actually, the relation of Radha and Krishna is of the soul and the Supreme Soul. Juice and joy used to rain from this union of soul and God even when Krishna, along with Radha, used to do maharas with innumerable gopikas.
The easier it is to understand the relation of Radha Krishna, the more difficult it is. Even Govind’s concubines could not understand the love of Radha Krishna. You know the story when Radha ji drank hot milk. So Rukmani ji asked after seeing blisters on Govind’s feet, Govind said- Every breath, every action of Radha is dedicated to me
The hot milk he drank was for me. That action as well as the object and its result. Along with this, my feet reside in the heart of Shri Radha every moment. That hot milk had a direct effect on my feet.
This dedication of Radha gives her a unique place in love. Ram’s loyalty was to a wife, so Janaki ji got the honor of adding Sita’s name before Ram.
Even after having 16108 wives, if Radha’s name is added. Perhaps because Radha is the path of love and devotion that can be followed to reach Krishna.
Being a woman Radha’s love and monopoly towards Krishna is visible but feminine jealousy is not visible in her as in others.
So not towards other gopikas but towards that bamboo flute which gets company of Govind every moment, Radha’s desire for company of Govind is to this extent.
That gradually she becomes one with the personality of Krishna. In the evening of life, when Radha gets the news of Govind’s great journey, she laughs and then asks the person who gave the message – “Has Shyam gone?” But where?
Look, he is here, in the waters of Yamuna, in mango groves, even in Vraj Raj.” This gesture of Radha ji is considered to be the most elevated gesture of love.
