( बरसाने ते टीको आयो )
हे अनिरुद्ध नन्दन वज्रनाभ वास्तव में, इस पराभूत परिश्रान्त हृदय का विश्राम स्थल एक मात्र प्रेम ही है प्रेम ही है जो इस दुःख से कराहते मनुष्य को आनन्द सिन्धु की यात्रा में ले चलता है।
हे यादवों में श्रेष्ठ वज्रनाभ आत्मा के अनुकूल अगर कुछ है तो वह प्रेम ही है अरे आत्मा ही तो प्रेमस्वरूप है।
इस जगत में अत्यन्त उज्वल और पवित्र कुछ है तो वह प्रेम है।
याद रहे वज्रनाभ सब कुछ अनित्य है इस संसार में एक मात्र प्रेम ही है जो नित्य और शाश्वत है उसे फिर हम अजर अमर क्यों न कहें वो प्रेम, अमृत रूपा भी तो है।
महर्षि शाण्डिल्य, यमुना के पुलिन में वज्रनाभ के सन्मुख, प्रेम की महिमा का गान कर रहे थे श्रीश्याम सुन्दर निकुञ्ज से उतरे हैं यशोदा के आँचल में तो ये प्रेम की ही महिमा है ।अब आगे साक्षात् प्रेम विशुद्ध प्रेम आकार लेने जा रहा था।
कितना सुन्दर नाम है ना उस गांव का “बरसाना‘इस गांव को अपनें ऊपर पाकर धरती भी धन्य हो रही थीयहाँ के अधिपति बृषभान उनकी भार्या कीर्ति रानी ।
पता नही क्यों ? महर्षि शाण्डिल्य, जब जब बरसानें की बात आती है मौन हो जाते हैं उनसे आगे कुछ बोला ही नही जाता।
हाँ प्रेम है ही ऐसाफिर ये नगरी तो प्रेम की नगरी थी ना।
“मेरे पुत्र हुआमैं बहुत प्रसन्न हूँ पर मेरे मित्र नंदराय के कोई पुत्र नही है कीर्ति रानी तुम्हे तो पता ही है मेरे पुत्र श्रीदामा के जन्म पर वो नन्द और यशोदा भाभी कितनें खुश थे पता है मैने तो उस समय भगवान से यही प्रार्थना की थी कि मेरे मित्र नन्द को भी पिता बनने का सौभाग्य मिलना चाहिए।
खिरक ( गौशाला ) में बैठे थे बृषभान तभी उनके पास उनकी अर्धांगिनी कीर्ति रानी आ गयीं कीर्तिरानी की गोद में श्रीदामा शिशु थे वो आकर अपनें पति बृषभान के पास बैठ गयीं थीं।
पता है कीर्तिरानी शास्त्र चाहे कुछ भी कहें कि पुत्र नही होगा तो पिता को स्वर्ग नही मिलेगा मुझे नही चाहिए स्वर्ग क्या स्वर्ग से कम है ये हमारा बरसाना?
हम दोनों मित्र थे बृजपति नन्द और मैं बड़े हैं मुझ से नन्द राय पर हमारी मित्रता बहुत पक्की रही।
तुम तो जानती ही हो मेरे विवाह के लिए मेरे पिता नें इतना प्रयास नही किया जितना प्रयास मेरे प्रिय मित्र नन्द राय ने किया था तब जाकर तुम जैसी सुन्दर सुशील भार्या मिली।
“मुझे पुत्र नही चाहिए“मैं तो स्पष्ट ही कहता था।
पर मेरे मित्र नन्द को पुत्र कि ही कामना थी मैं कहता भी था की “मेरे पुत्र जो मुझे होनें वाले हो विधाता तुम्हे दे दे पर मुझे तो कन्या ही चाहिए।
सुन्दर प्यारी कन्या जो रुनझुन करती हुयी इस आँगन में डोले बाबा बाबा कहते हुए मेरे हिय से लग जाए मैं जब खिरक से लौटूं अपनें महल तो “बाबा लो जल पीयो“मुझे जल पिलायेतब मैं उस प्यारी, अपनी लाड़ली को हृदय से लगा लूँ।
शास्त्र कहते हैं पिण्ड दान पुत्र के ही हाथो पितृयों को प्राप्त होता है पर कीर्ति रानी पितृलोक में जाएगा कौन? हम तो फिर इसी बृज में आएंगे और बृज में भी बरसानें मेंन मिले हमें पितृलोक में पिण्ड हमें नही चाहिए अरे अर्यमा ( पितृलोक के राजा ) भी तरसते होंगें इस बरसानें में जन्म लेनें के लिए।
“मुझे तो पुत्री की ही लालसा है“
कीर्ति रानी के गोद में खेल रहे शिशु श्रीदामा के कपोल को छूते हुये बृषभान ने कहा था।
और हाँ जब श्रीदामा का जन्म हुआ था ना तब मैने कहा भी था मित्र नन्द से “मेरे पुत्र को ले जाओ “क्यों कि मेरे यहाँ तो अब पुत्री का जन्म होने वाला है।
“तुम्हारी भाभी भी गर्भवती हैं“उसी समय ये शुभ समाचार दे दिया था मुझे मित्र नन्द ने तुम्हे तो पता है ना कीर्ति।
हाँ मुझे पता है मैने उन भोली बृजरानी यशोदा भाभी को छेड़ा भी था वो कितना शर्मा रही थीं।
तुम्हे पता नही है कीर्ति मैं जब विदा करनें बाहर तक आया था तो मित्र नन्द और भाभी बृजरानी को तब मैने मित्र नन्द को गले लगाते हुए कहा था “अब मेरी पुत्री होगीआपके पुत्र”।
“तिहारे मुख में माखन को लौंदा” उन्मुक्त हँसते हुए नन्द राय ने मुझे कहा था और पता है मैने एक वचन भी दे दिया है मित्र को ।
चौंक गयीं थीं कीर्तिरानी क्या वचन दिया आपने?
मैने वचन दिया कि आपके पुत्र होगा और मेरी पुत्री होगी तो उसी समय “टीको ( सगाई ) होयगो”।
“श्रीमान् बृहत्सानुपुर के अधिपति बृषभान की जय हो “
चार ग्वाले आगये थे दूसरे गांव के, उन्होंने ही प्रणाम करते हुए कहा।
हाँ कहो पर आप लोग तो गोकुल के लगते हो ?
बृषभान ने पूछा ।
जी हम लोग गोकुल के हैं और श्रीश्री बृजपति नन्द राय के यहाँ से आये हैं।
ओह आप लोग बैठिये बृषभान ने प्रसन्नता व्यक्त की।
नही हम अभी बैठ नही सकते बस सूचना देकर हम वापस जा रहे हैं गोकुल के उन सभ्य ग्वालों ने कहा ।
पर सूचना क्या है ?
बृजपति श्री नन्द राय स्वयं आते पर वो अत्यन्त व्यस्त हो गए हैं इसलिये हमें उन्होंने भेजा है।
ऐसा क्या हुआ , जिसके कारण व्यस्त हो गए बृजराज?
“उनके पुत्र हुआ है ” गोकुल के ग्वालों ने बताया।
जैसे ही ये सुना बृषभान नें उनके आनन्द का तो कोई ठिकाना ही नही रहा थासबसे पहले तो अपने ही गले का हार उतार कर उन दूत का कार्य कर रहे , गोकुल के लोगों को दिया।
कीर्तिरानी सुना तुमनें ? उछल पड़े थे आनन्द से बृषभान ।
आप तो ऐसे खुश हो रहे हैं जैसे आपके जमाई ने ही जन्म लिया है।
कीर्तिरानी ने छेड़ा ।
और क्या ? देखना हमारी पुत्री और उनके पुत्र का विवाह होगा और ये ऐसे दम्पति होंगें जो सबसे अनूठे होंगें अद्भुत होंगें।बृषभान के हृदय का आनन्द अपनी सीमा पार कर रहा था।
पर उनके तो पुत्र हो गया आपकी पुत्री?
होगी अवश्य होगी मेरी प्रार्थना व्यर्थ नही जायेगी मैने समस्त देवों को मनाया है वो सब मेरी सुनेंगे।
पर आप ने ये नही पूछा कि मैं खिरक में आज क्यों आयी ?
कीर्तिरानी ने कुछ शर्माते हुए ये बात कही थी।
क्यों ? मुझे नही पता हाँ वैसे तुम खिरक में कभी आयी नहीं पहली बार ही आयी हो।
“मैं गर्भवती हूँ “और दाई कह रही हैं कि मेरे गर्भ में कन्या है।
ओह
इतना सुनते ही गोद में उठा लिया था बृषभान नें कीर्ति रानी को और घुमाने लगे थे।
उनके नेत्रों से आनन्दाश्रु बह चले थे गोद में शिशु श्रीदामा भी मुस्कुरा रहे थे वो भी सोच रहे थे चलो मेरा सखा या बहनोई आगया अब मेरी बहन श्रीकिशोरी भी आने वाली हैं।
अरे क्या देख रहे हो जाओ पूरे बरसाने में ये बात फैला दो कि हम सब “टीका” लेकर जा रहे हैं गोकुल बृषभान ने आनन्द की अतिरेकता में ये बात कही।
टीका लेकर ? यानि सगाई ?
गांव वालों ने पूछना शुरू किया ।
हाँ अभी से मैं कह रहा हूँ नन्द राय के पुत्र हुआ है अब मेरी पुत्री होगीये पक्का हैइसलिये टीका अभी ही जाना चाहिये हमारी तरफ सेहम लड़की वाले हैं।बृषभान के आनन्द की कोई थाह नही है आज।
हाँ सब सजो सब बरसानें की सखियाँ सजें और टीका लेकर हम सब बरसानें से नाचते गाते हुए गोकुल में चलें।
पूरे बरसानें में ये बात फैला दी गयी
सुन्दर से सुन्दर श्रृंगार किया सखियों नें हे वज्रनाभ बरसानें की सखियाँ तो वैसे ही स्वर्ग की अप्सराओं को अपनी सुन्दरता से चिढ़ाती रहती थीं।
पर आज जब सजनें की बारी आयी और स्वयं उनके महीपति बृषभान नें आज्ञा दी तब तो उर्वसी और मेनका भी इनकी दासी लग रही थीं।
हाथों में सुवर्ण की थाल सजाये मोतियों की सुन्दरतम पच्चीकारी चूनर ओढ़ेघेरदार लंहगा पहनें।
और नाचते गाते हुए सब चलीं गोकुल की ओरकीर्तिरानी नही जा पाईँ क्यों की वो गर्भवती थींपर बरसाने के अधिपति बृषभान सुन्दर पगड़ी बाँधे चाँदी की छड़ी लिएआगे आगे चल रहे थे।
हे वज्रनाभ आनन्द का ज्वार ही मानों उमड़ पड़ा गोकुल में।
बृजपति नन्द के द्वारे कौन नही खड़ा था आज मैं देख रहा था सब को देवता भी ग्वाल बाल बनकर घूम रहे थे।देवियों ने रूप धारण किया था गोपियों का पर कहाँ गोपियों का प्रेमपूर्ण सौन्दर्य और कहाँ ये देवियाँ?
प्रकृति आनन्दित थी सब आनन्दित थेचारों दिशाएँ प्रसन्न थीं पर मैने देखा बृजपति का ध्यान तो अपनें मित्र बृषभान की ओर ही था वो बरसानें वाले मार्ग को ही देखे जा रहे थे।
मैनें उनसे पूछा भी क्या देख रहे हैं बृजपति उस तरफ ?
पता नही मित्र बृषभान अभी तक क्यों नही आये ?
आएंगे उनके आये बिना सब कुछ अधूरा है क्यों की इस अवतार को पूर्णता तो उन्हीं से मिलेगी ना।
क्या मतलब गुरुदेव ? मैं समझा नही।
नही कुछ नही बृजपति नन्द।
तभी सामनें से बृज रज उड़ती हुयी दिखाई दी आवाज आरही थी बड़ी सुमधुर और प्रेमपूर्ण हजारों बरसानें की गोपियाँ एक साथ गाती हुयी चली आरही थीं।
बृजपति देखिये आगये आपके मित्र बृषभानऔर लगता है पुरे बरसानें को ही ले आये हैं मैने हँसते हुए बृजपति को बताया था।
एक ही रँग के सबके वस्त्र थे पीले पीले वस्त्र सोलह श्रृंगार पूरा था उन सब सखियों का उनका गायन ऐसा लग रहा था जैसे सरस्वती की वीणा झंकृत हो रही हो आहा
बधाई हो मित्र बधाई हो
दूर से ही दौड़ पड़े थे बरसानें के अधिपति बृषभान।
इधर से बृजपति दौड़े।
हे वज्रनाभ मैं उस समय भूल गया कि मैं तो इनका पुरोहित हूँ, गुरु हूँ पर हँसते हुए बोले महर्षि शाण्डिल्य मैं इस लाभ से वंचित नही होना चाहता था ये दोनों इतनें महान थे कि एक की गोद में ब्रह्म खेलनें वाला था और एक की गोद में आल्हादिनी शक्ति खेलनें वाली थी।
दोनों गले मिले मुझे देखा तो मेरी भी पद वन्दना की बृषभान नें फिर मेरी ओर ही देखते हुए बोलेआज गुरुदेव को मेरी एक सहायता करनी पड़ेगी
मैं ? मैं क्या कर सकता हूँ ?
मैने हँसते हुए पूछा ।
आपको, आज हमारे सम्बन्ध को और प्रगाढ़ बनाना होगा।
पुण्यश्लोक बृषभान मैं समझा नही ।
गुरुदेव आप ही ये कार्य कीजिये हम दोनों को समधी बना दीजिये बृषभान नें हाथ जोड़कर कहा ।
हँसे बृजपति नन्द , खूब हँसें मैं भी हँसा।
बृजपति नें हँसते हुए कहा पर आपकी पुत्री कहाँ है?
आपकी भाभी गर्भवती है और लक्षणों से स्पष्ट है की गर्भ में पुत्री ही आई हैचहकते हुए ये बात बृषभान कह रहे थे।
मैं गम्भीर हो गया मेरे मुख से निकला नन्द नन्दन और भानु दुलारी तो अनादि दम्पति हैं वो आये ही इसलिये हैं कि जगत को प्रेम का सन्देश दे सकें विमल प्रेम क्या होता है विशुद्ध प्रेम की परिभाषा क्या होती है यही बतानें के लिये ये दोनों आये हैं।
हे वज्रनाभ ये सब कहते हुए मेरा मुखमण्डल दिव्य तेज से भर गया था मेरी बात सुनते ही स्तब्ध से हो गए थे दोनों ही।
फिर कुछ देर बाद यही बोले दोनों गुरुदेव हम ग्वाले हैं आपकी इन गूढ़ बातों को हम नही समझ रहे पर हाँ इतना हमनें समझ लिया है किहमें ये सम्बन्ध बना ही लेना चाहिए।
बृजपति नन्द की बातें सुनकर बृषभान आनन्दित हो , गले मिले।
नगाड़े बज उठे बरसानें वालों के सब सखियाँ नाच उठीं अबीर गुलाल ये सब आकाश में उड़नें लगे और बरसानें वाली सब सखियाँ तो गा रही थीं।
“नन्द महल में लाला जायो, बरसानें ते टीको आयो“
हे वज्रनाभ मैं इतना आनन्दित था जिसका मैं वर्णन नही कर सकता।

O Aniruddha Nandan Vajranabha, in fact, the resting place of this defeated and exhausted heart is only love, it is love which takes the man groaning with this sorrow on the journey to the river of joy. O the best of the Yadavas, if there is anything suitable for the Vajranabh soul then it is love, the soul itself is the embodiment of love. If there is something very bright and pure in this world, it is love. Remember, Vajranabh, everything is impermanent, there is only love in this world which is daily and eternal, then why should we not call it immortal, that love is also in the form of nectar. Maharishi Shandilya, in front of the thunderbolt in Yamuna’s bridge, was singing the glory of love. Shri Shyam Sundar has descended from Nikunj, in the lap of Yashoda, this is the glory of love. Now further, love in person was going to take the form of pure love.
What a beautiful name that village has, “Barsana”. The earth was also blessed to have this village above itself, its ruler Brishabhan and his wife Kirti Rani.
Don’t know why? Maharishi Shandilya, whenever there is talk of rains, he becomes silent and nothing else is said to him. Yes, love is like that, then this city was a city of love. “I am very happy that I have a son, but my friend Nandarai does not have any son, Kirti Rani. You know how happy Nand and Yashoda Bhabhi were on the birth of my son Shridama. I had prayed to God at that time that My friend Nand should also get the privilege of becoming a father.
Brishbhan was sitting in Khirak (cow shed) when his better half Kirti Rani came to him. Shridama was the baby in Kirtirani’s lap. She came and sat near her husband Brishbhan.
Do you know that no matter what the Kirtirani scriptures say that if there is no son then the father will not get heaven? I don’t want heaven. Is this rain of ours less than heaven? We both were friends, Brijpati Nand and I were elder than me, Nand Rai, but our friendship remained very strong. You know that my father did not make as much effort for my marriage as my dear friend Nand Rai did, only then I got a beautiful Sushil wife like you.
“I don’t want a son,” I used to say clearly. But my friend Nand only wanted a son, I used to say that “May God give you the son I am going to have, but I only want a girl.” The beautiful and lovely girl who wanders around in this courtyard crying, Baba, Baba, and clings to my heart, when I return to my palace from Khirak, then “Baba, take a drink of water”, give me water to drink, then I will embrace that dear, my darling, in my heart. The scriptures say that Pind Daan is received by the ancestors only from the hands of the son, but who will go to Kirti Rani Pitralok? We will come back to this Brij again and even in Brij, we will not get the rains during the rainy season. We do not want Pind in the ancestral world. Aryama (King of the ancestral world) must also be yearning to be born in these rainy days.
“I long for a daughter.” Brishbhan had said this while touching the forehead of baby Shridama who was playing in the lap of Kirti Rani. And yes, when Shridama was born, I had also told my friend Nand, “Take my son away,” because now a daughter is going to be born in my house.
“Your sister-in-law is also pregnant.” At that very moment my friend Nand had given me this good news. You know it, Kirti. Yes, I know that I had teased that innocent Brijrani Yashoda Bhabhi and she was feeling so shy. You don’t know Kirti, when I came out to bid farewell to my friend Nand and sister-in-law Brijrani, I hugged my friend Nand and said, “Now my daughter will be your son.” “Put butter in your mouth” Nand Rai had told me while laughing freely and you know I have also given a promise to my friend.
Kirtirani was shocked, what promise did you give? I promised that if you will have a son and I will have a daughter, then “Tiko (engagement) will be done at the same time”.
“Victory to Brihasbhan, the ruler of Brihatsanupura.” Four cowherds had come from another village, they themselves said salutations. Say yes but you guys look like Gokul? Brishabhan asked.
Yes, we are from Gokul and have come from Shri Shri Brijpati Nand Rai’s place. Oh you all sit, Brishabhan expressed happiness. No, we cannot sit now, just after giving information, we are going back, said those civilized cowherds of Gokul. But what is information? Brijpati Shri Nand Rai would have come himself but he is very busy so he has sent us. What happened due to which Brijraj became busy?
“He has given birth to a son,” said the cowherds of Gokul. As soon as Brishabhan heard this, there was no limit to his joy. First of all, he took off his own necklace and gave it to the people of Gokul who were acting as messengers.
Did you hear Kirtirani? Brishbhan was jumping with joy. You are feeling happy as if your son-in-law has taken birth. Kirtirani teased. What else ? To see, the marriage of our daughter and her son will take place and they will be such a unique and wonderful couple. The joy in Brishabhan’s heart was crossing its limits.
But he has a son and your daughter? It will definitely happen, my prayer will not go in vain, I have convinced all the gods, they will all listen to me. But you did not ask why I came to Khirak today? Kirtirani said this with some shyness. Why ? I don’t know, yes, you have never come to Khirak, this is your first time.
“I am pregnant” and the midwife is saying that I am pregnant with a girl. Oh On hearing this, Brishbhan picked up Kirti Rani in his lap and started rotating her. Tears of joy were flowing from his eyes. Baby Shridama was also smiling in his lap. He was also thinking, come on, my friend or brother-in-law is coming, now my sister Shri Kishori is also going to come.
Hey, what are you looking at, spread this word throughout Barsana that we all are taking “vaccine”. Gokul Brishbhan said this in extreme joy. By taking the vaccine? That means engagement? The villagers started asking.
Yes, from now on I am saying that Nand Rai has had a son, now I will have a daughter, it is certain, that is why the vaccination should be done right now, from our side, we are having a girl. There is no limit to the joy of Brishbhan today. Yes, everyone gets dressed up, all the friends of Barsane get dressed up and let us all go to Gokul singing and dancing from Barsane with the tilak.
This news was spread throughout the rainy season The friends had done the most beautiful make-up, O Vajranabh Barsanen’s friends, they used to tease the heavenly nymphs with their beauty. But today, when it was the turn of the ladies and their master Brishabhan himself gave the order, even Urvasi and Maneka seemed to be their maids. Hold a gold plate in their hands, wear a beautiful embroidered chunar made of pearls and a hemmed lehenga. And everyone started dancing and singing towards Gokul. Kirtirani could not go because she was pregnant, but the ruler of Barsana, Brishabhan, was walking ahead wearing a beautiful turban and carrying a silver stick.
O thunderbolt, it seemed as if a tide of joy had surged in Gokul. Who was not standing near Brijapati Nand? Today I was seeing that even the gods were roaming around like cowherds. The goddesses had taken the form of Gopis, but where was the loving beauty of the Gopis and where were these goddesses? Nature was happy, everyone was happy, all four directions were happy but I saw that Brijpati’s attention was only towards his friend Brishabhan, he was looking only at the path of rains.
I also asked him, what is Brijpati looking at in that direction? Don’t know why friend Brishabhan has not come yet?
Everything is incomplete without his coming because this incarnation will get completeness only from him. What does Gurudev mean? I don’t understand. No, nothing, Brijpati Nand.
Then Brij Raj was seen flying from the front, the voice was very melodious and loving, the Gopis of thousands of years were coming singing together. Brijpati, look, your friend Brishabhan has come and it seems he has brought the whole rain, I told Brijpati laughingly. Everyone’s clothes were of the same color, yellow clothes, sixteen makeup was complete, their singing of all those friends sounded as if Saraswati’s veena was tinkling, aha!
congratulations friend congratulations Lord Brishabhan of Barsane had started running from a distance.
Brijpati ran from here. O Vajranabh, I forgot at that time that I am their priest, their Guru, but Maharishi Shandilya said laughingly, I did not want to be deprived of this benefit. Both of them were so great that Brahma was playing in the lap of one and Brahma was playing in the lap of the other. Alhadini Shakti was about to play.
Both of them hugged and when they saw me, they also worshiped me. Brishbhan then looked at me and said, Gurudev will have to help me today.
I ? What can I do? I asked laughing. You will have to deepen our relationship today. Punyashlok Brishabhan I did not understand. Gurudev, you yourself do this work and make both of us samadhi, said Brishabhan with folded hands.
Brijpati Nand laughed, laughed a lot, I also laughed. Brijpati laughingly said, but where is your daughter? Your sister-in-law is pregnant and it is clear from the symptoms that she is pregnant with a daughter. Brishbhan was saying this while chirping.
I became serious and the words that came out of my mouth were Nand Nandan and Bhanu Dulari, they are an eternal couple, they have come to give the message of love to the world, what is love, what is the definition of pure love, both of them have come to tell this. .
O Vajranabh, while saying all this, my face was filled with divine radiance and both of them were stunned after hearing my words. Then after some time they said, both Gurudevs, we are cowherds, we are not understanding these deep things of yours, but yes, we have understood that we should establish this relationship.
Brishabhan became happy after hearing the words of Brijapati Nand and hugged him. The drums started playing, all the friends of the Barsana wali danced, Abir Gulal started flying in the sky and all the friends of the Barsana wala were singing.
“Lala, go to Nand Mahal, let Tiko come in the rainy season.” O Vajranabh, I was so happy that I cannot describe.
