सन्यासी

एक राजा की पुत्री के मन में वैराग्य की भावनाएं थीं। जब राजकुमारी विवाह योग्य हुई तो राजा को उसके विवाह के लिए योग्य वर नहीं मिल पा रहा था।

राजा ने पुत्री की भावनाओं को समझते हुए बहुत सोच-विचार करके उसका विवाह एक गरीब संन्यासी से करवा दिया। राजा ने सोचा कि एक संन्यासी ही राजकुमारी की भावनाओं की कद्र कर सकता है।
विवाह के बाद राजकुमारी खुशी-खुशी संन्यासी की कुटिया में रहने आ गई। कुटिया की सफाई करते समय राजकुमारी को एक बर्तन में दो सूखी रोटियां दिखाई दीं।

उसने अपने संन्यासी पति से पूछा कि रोटियां यहां क्यों रखी हैं? संन्यासी ने जवाब दिया कि ये रोटियां कल के लिए रखी हैं, अगर कल खाना नहीं मिला तो हम एक-एक रोटी खा लेंगे। संन्यासी का ये जवाब सुनकर राजकुमारी हंस पड़ी। राजकुमारी ने कहा कि मेरे पिता ने मेरा विवाह आपके साथ इसलिए किया था, क्योंकि उन्हें ये लगता है कि आप भी मेरी ही तरह वैरागी हैं, आप तो सिर्फ भक्ति करते हैं और कल की चिंता करते हैं।
सच्चा भक्त वही है जो कल की चिंता नहीं करता और भगवान पर पूरा भरोसा करता है। अगले दिन की चिंता तो जानवर भी नहीं करते हैं, हम तो इंसान हैं। अगर भगवान चाहेगा तो हमें खाना मिल जाएगा और नहीं मिलेगा तो रातभर आनंद से प्रार्थना करेंगे।

ये बातें सुनकर संन्यासी की आंखें खुल गई। उसे समझ आ गया कि उसकी पत्नी ही असली संन्यासी है। उसने राजकुमारी से कहा कि आप तो राजा की बेटी हैं, राजमहल छोड़कर मेरी छोटी सी कुटिया में आई हैं, जबकि मैं तो पहले से ही एक फकीर हूं, फिर भी मुझे कल की चिंता सता रही थी। सिर्फ कहने से ही कोई संन्यासी नहीं होता, संन्यास को जीवन में उतारना पड़ता है। आपने मुझे वैराग्य का महत्व समझा दिया।

अगर हम भगवान की भक्ति करते हैं तो विश्वास भी होना चाहिए कि भगवान हर समय हमारे साथ है। उसको (भगवान) हमारी चिंता हमसे ज्यादा रहती हैं।
कभी आप बहुत परेशान हों, कोई रास्ता नजर नहीं आ रहा हो तो आप आँखें बंद करके विश्वास के साथ पुकारें, सच मानिये थोड़ी देर में आपकी समस्या का समाधान मिल जायेगा।

The daughter of a king had feelings of disinterest in his mind. When the princess was married, the king could not find a worthy groom for her marriage. The king understood the feelings of the daughter and got her married to a poor monk. The king thought that only a monk can appreciate the feelings of the princess. After marriage, the princess happily came to live in the monk’s hut. While cleaning the hut, the princess saw two dry rotis in a vessel.

He asked his monk husband why the rotis were kept here? The monk replied that these loaves have been kept for tomorrow, if we do not get food tomorrow, we will eat each bread. Hearing this answer of the monk, the princess laughed. The princess said that my father married me to you because they feel that you too are disinterested, you only do devotion and worry about tomorrow. The true devotee is the one who does not worry about tomorrow and trusts God. Even animals do not worry about the next day, we are human. If God wants, we will get food and will not get it, then we will pray with joy all night. Hearing these things, the monk’s eyes opened. He understood that his wife is the real monk. She told the princess that you are the daughter of the king, leaving the palace and came to my small hut, while I am already a fakir, yet I was worried about yesterday.
