दिव्य अक्षय पात्र

जब पांडव जुए में सब कुछ हारकर वनवास को चले, तब केवल पाँच भाई और द्रौपदी ही नहीं थे—
उनके साथ अनेक ब्राह्मण भी थे, जो धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर की शरण में आए थे।
वन का जीवन कठिन था।
फल-मूल और कंद से तो पांडव अपना निर्वाह कर लेते,
पर युधिष्ठिर के हृदय में एक ही चिंता थी—
“जब तक अतिथि भूखे हैं,
तब तक राजा का हृदय कैसे शांत रह सकता है?”
युधिष्ठिर ने अपने पुरोहित धौम्य से उपाय पूछा।
धौम्य ने कहा—
राजन, अब केवल सूर्यदेव ही आपकी सहायता कर सकते हैं।
युधिष्ठिर ने वन में तपस्या की।
दिन-रात सूर्यदेव का स्मरण किया।
उनकी भक्ति से प्रसन्न होकर स्वयं सूर्यदेव प्रकट हुए।
सूर्यदेव ने द्रौपदी को एक दिव्य पात्र प्रदान किया और कहा—
यह अक्षय पात्र है।
जब तक द्रौपदी भोजन नहीं करेंगी,
तब तक यह पात्र कभी खाली नहीं होगा।
जितने अतिथि आएँगे,
सबका पेट भरकर अन्न निकलेगा।
उस दिन से वनवास में कभी कोई अतिथि भूखा नहीं लौटा।
द्रौपदी पहले सबको भोजन करातीं,
फिर अंत में स्वयं अन्न ग्रहण करतीं।
यह पात्र केवल भोजन देने वाला बर्तन नहीं था—
यह सेवा, त्याग और करुणा का प्रतीक था।
और यही कारण है कि
वन में रहते हुए भी
पांडवों का आश्रम
राजमहल से कम नहीं था।

When the Pandavas lost everything in gambling and went to exile, only the five brothers and Draupadi were not there— Along with him were many Brahmins who had come to seek refuge in Dharmaraja Yudhishthir. Forest life was difficult. The Pandavas would have been able to sustain themselves with fruits, roots and tubers. But there was only one concern in Yudhishthir’s heart- “As long as the guests are hungry, How can the king’s heart remain calm till then?” Yudhishthir asked his priest Dhaumya for a solution. Dhaumya said- Rajan, now only Suryadev can help you. Yudhishthir performed penance in the forest. Remembered the Sun God day and night. Pleased with their devotion, Sun God himself appeared. Suryadev presented a divine vessel to Draupadi and said- This is an inexhaustible container. Unless Draupadi eats food, Till then this vessel will never be empty. The number of guests who will come, Everyone’s stomach will be filled with food. From that day onwards no guest ever returned hungry from exile. Draupadi would first feed everyone, Then in the end she would consume the food herself. This vessel was not just a vessel for serving food— It was a symbol of service, sacrifice and compassion. And this is why despite living in the forest Ashram of Pandavas It was no less than a royal palace.
