बुद्ध पूर्णिमा, महात्मा बुद्ध को सत्य की खोज

आज बुद्ध पूर्णिमा पर्व है। संसार में महात्मा बुद्ध को सत्य की खोज के लिये जाना जाता है। राजसी ठाठ-बाट छोड़कर राजकुमार सिद्धार्थ सत्य को जानने हेतु वन में भटकते, कठोर तपस्या करते हैं तथा सत्य को खोज निकालते हैं। फिर उस संदेश को समस्त संसार तक ले जाते हैं। सबको मानवता का पाठ पढ़ाते हैं, सृष्टि को समझने का एक नया दृष्टिकोण उत्पन्न करते हैं। दु:खों का कारण तथा निवारण बताते हैं। बोधगया में बोधिवृक्ष के नीचे बुद्ध को सत्य का ज्ञान हुआ। उन्हें बुद्धत्व की प्राप्ति भी वैशाख पूर्णिमा को हुई। वैशाख पूर्णिमा के दिन ही कुशीनगर में उनका महापरिनिर्वाण हुआ। कुल मिलाकर जन्म, सत्य का ज्ञान तथा महापरिनिर्वाण एक ही दिन हुआ। वैशाख पूर्णिमा के दिन। उत्तरी भारत में गौतम बुद्ध को हिंदुओं में भगवान विष्णु का नौवां अवतार भी माना जाता है। भगवान विष्णु के आठवें अवतार भगवान श्री कृष्ण माने जाते हैं। हालांकि दक्षिण भारत में बुद्ध को भगवान विष्णु का अवतार नहीं माना जाता है। दक्षिण भारतीय बलराम को विष्णु का आठवां अवतार तो श्री कृष्ण 連 को 9वां अवतार मानते हैं। बौद्ध धर्म के अनुयायी भी भगवान बुद्ध के विष्णु के अवतार होने को नहीं मानते। वर्तमान में लगभग 180 करोड़ लोग बुद्ध के अनुयायी हैं। भारत के साथ साथ चीन, नेपाल, सिंगापुर, वियतनाम, थाइलैंड, जापान, कंबोडिया, मलेशिया, श्रीलंका , म्यांमार, इंडोनेशिया, पाकिस्तान जैसे दुनिया के कई देशों में बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के दिन बुद्ध जयंती मनाई जाती है।

Buddha came to know the truth under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya. He also attained enlightenment on Vaishakh Purnima. His Mahaparinirvana took place in Kushinagar on the day of Vaishakh Purnima. Overall birth, knowledge of truth and Mahaparinirvana happened on the same day. Vaishakh Purnima day. In northern India, Gautam Buddha is also considered the ninth incarnation of Lord Vishnu among Hindus. Lord Krishna is considered the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. However, in South India, Buddha is not considered an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. South Indians consider Balarama to be the eighth incarnation of Vishnu and Shri Krishna Om as the 9th incarnation. The followers of Buddhism also do not believe that Lord Buddha is an incarnation of Vishnu. At present about 180 crore people are followers of Buddha. Along with India, Buddha Jayanti is celebrated on Buddha Purnima in many countries of the world like China, Nepal, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Cambodia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Indonesia, Pakistan.
