आत्मा और परमात्मा का महामिलन में न तो काम है, न गोपियों में परस्वार्थ ईर्ष्या है, न कुछ पाने की इच्छा है।यह कामनारहित प्रेम का शुद्ध तम रूप है जो भगवान श्री कृष्ण की अनन्य भक्ति करने वाले भक्त पर प्रभु की अपरिमित कृपा है। भक्त से भगवान, आत्मा से परमात्मा, नर से नारायण के मिलन का नाम महारास है।
महारास भगवान कृष्ण और गोपियों की अद्भुत अविभूत कर देने वाली नृत्य संगीत की अनुपम लीला है जिसमें सदेह होकर विदेह का वर्णन मिलता है-चेतना का परम चेतना से मिलन, है।
भक्त का भगवान से, जीव का ब्रह्म से, साकार का निराकार से, ज्योति का परम ज्योति से, अस्तित्व का महा अस्तित्व से-महामिलन, महारास, एक ऐसा परम दिव्य सौंदर्य माँ कालिन्दी के तट पर बिखरा कि प्रकृति भी हतप्रभ रह गई, कल कल करता कालिन्दी का नीर भी अपनी लहरों को विस्मृत कर उस अविस्मरणीय छटा को निहारता रहा।
