[भज] निताई-गौर राधेश्याम [जप] हरेकृष्ण हरेराम
महाराज प्रतापरुद्र को प्रेमदान
राज्यातिमानं सुकुलाभिमानं
श्रीकृष्णचैतन्यमयौदयार्थम।
सर्वं त्यजेद्भक्तवर: स राजा
प्रतापरुद्रो मम मान्यपूज्य:।।
कबीर बाबा ने सच कहा है-
पियका मिलना सुगम है, तेरा चलन न वैसा।
नाचन निकली बापुरी, फिर घूँघट कैसा।
सचमुच जहाँ पर्दा है वहाँ मिलन कैसा? जहाँ बीच में दीवार खड़ी है वहाँ दर्शन सुख कहाँ? जहाँ अन्तराय है वहाँ सच्चा सुख हो ही नहीं सकता। जब तक पद प्रतिष्ठा, पैसा-परिवार, पाण्डित्य और पुरुषार्थ का अभिमान है तब तक प्यारे के पास पहुँचना अत्यन्त ही कठिन है। जब तक अहंकृति की गहरी खाईं बीच में खुदी हुई है, तब तक प्यारे के महल तक पहुँचना टेढ़ी खीर हैं। जब तक सभी अभिमानों को त्यागकर निष्किंचन बनकर प्यारे के पादपह्रों के समीप नहीं जाता, तब तक उसके प्रसाद को प्राप्त करने में कोई भी समर्थ नहीं हो सकता। इसीलिये महात्मा कबीरदास जी ने कहा है-
चाखा चाहे प्रेम रस, राखा चाहे मान।
एक म्यान में दो खडग, देखी सुनी न कान।।
महाराज प्रतापरुद्र जी जब तक राज्य सम्मान के अभिमान में बने रहे और दूसरे दूसरे आदमियों से संदेश भिजवाते रहे, तब तक वे महाप्रभु की कृपा से वंचित ही रहे। जब उन्होंने सब कुछ छोड़ छाड़कर निष्किंचन भक्त की भाँति प्रभु पादपद्मों का आश्रय ग्रहण किया तब वे महाभाग परम भागवत बन गये और इनकी गणना परम वैष्णव भक्तों में होने लगी।
महाप्रभु बलगण्डि की पुष्पवाटिका मे सुखपूर्वक विश्राम कर रहे थे। संकीर्तन और नृत्य की थकान के कारण प्रभु के सभी अंग प्रत्यंग शिथिल हो रहे थे। उनके कमल के समान नेत्र कुछ खुले हुए थे और कुछ मुँदे हुए थे। प्रभु अर्धनिद्रित अवस्था में पड़े हुए शीतल वायु के स्पर्श से परमानन्द का-सा अनुभव कर रहे थे कि इतने में ही सार्वभौम भट्टाचार्य का संकेत पाकर कटकाधिक महाराज प्रतापरुद्र जी प्रभु के दर्शनों के लिये चले। महाराज ने अपने राजसी वस्त्र उतार दिये थे; छत्र, चँवर तथा मुकुट आदि राजचिह्नों का भी उन्होंने परित्याग कर दिया था। एक साधारण से वस्त्र को राजसी ओढ़े हुए नंगे पैरों ही वे प्रभु के दर्शनों के लिये चले। महाराज के पीछे पीछे नियम के अनुसार उनके शरीर रक्षक भी चले, किन्तु महाराज ने उन सबको साथ आने से निवारण कर दिया। वे एकाकी ही प्रभु के निकट जाने लगे।
महाराज ने देखा, सभी भक्त आनन्द में विभोर हुए पेड़ों की सुखद शीतल छाया में पड़े हुए विश्राम कर रहे हैं। महाराज की दृष्टि जिन वैष्णवों पर पड़ी उन सबको ही उन्होंने हाथ जोड़कर प्रणाम किया। थोड़ी दूर पर अर्धोन्मीलित दृष्टि से लेटे प्रभु को उन्होंने देखा। महाप्रभु सुखपूर्वक लेटे हुए थे। महाराज पहले तो कुछ सहमे, फिर धीरे धीरे जाकर उन्होंने प्रभु के पैर पकड़ लिये और उन्हें अपने अरुण रंग के कोमल करों से धीरे धीरे दबाने लगे। पैर दबाते-दबाते वे श्रीमद्भागवत के दशम स्कन्ध के गोपीगीत का गायन करने लगे।
रास मण्डल में से रसिकशिरोमणि श्रीकृष्ण जी सहसा अन्तर्धान हो गये हैं। उनके वियोग दु:ख से दु:खी हुई गोपिकाएँ पशु-पक्षी तथा लता-कुंजों से प्रभु के सम्बन्ध में पूछती हुई विलाप कर रही हैं। उसी विरह का वर्णन गोपिका गीत का ‘जयति तेऽधिकम’ आदि 19 श्लोकों में किया गया है। महाराज बड़े ही मधुर स्वर से उन श्लोकों का गान कर रहे थे। श्लोकों के सुनते सुनते ही महाप्रभु की प्रेम समाधि लग गयी। उन्हें प्रेम के आवेश में कुछ ध्यान ही न रहा कि हमारे पैरों की कौन दबा रहा है और कौन यह हमारे हृदय को परमशान्ति देने वाला अमृतरस पिला रहा है। प्रभु अर्धमूर्च्छित अवस्था में ‘वाह वाह, हां हां, फिर फिर, आगे कहो, आगे कहो’ ऐसे शब्द कहते जाते थे। महाराज जब अन्य श्लोकों का गायन करते करते इस श्लोक को गाने लगे-
तव कथामृतं तप्तजीवनं
कविभिरीडितं कल्मषापहम।
श्रवणमंगलं श्रीमदाततं
भुवि गृणन्ति ते भूरिदा जना:।।
तब महाप्रभु एकदम उठकर बैठ गये और महाराज का जोरों से आलिंगन करते हुए कहने लगे- ‘अहो, महाभाग ! आप धन्य हैं। मैं आपके इस ऋण से कभी उऋण नहीं हो सकता। आज आपने मुझे प्रेमामृत पान कराकर कृतकृत्य कर दिया। आपने मुझे अमूल्य रत्न प्रदान किया, इसके बदले में मैं आपको क्या दूँ? मेरे पास तो यही प्रेमालिंगन है, इसे ही आपको प्रदान करता हूँ। आप अपना परिचय हमें दीजिये। आप कौन हैं? आपने ऐसी अहैतु की कृपा मुझपर क्यों की है? अत्यन्त ही विनीत भाव से महाराज ने कहा- ‘प्रभो ! मैं आपके दासों का दास बनने की इच्छा करने वाला एक अकिंचन सेवक हूँ। आज मैंने क्या पा लिया। प्रभु के प्रेमालिंगन को पाने पर फिर मेरे लिये संसार में प्राप्य वस्तु ही क्या रह गयी? आज मैं धन्य हो गया। मेरा मनुष्य जन्म लेना सफल हो गया। इतने दिन की जगन्नाथ जी सेवा का पुरस्कार प्राप्त हो गया। आपके चरणों में मेरा अक्षुण्ण स्नेह बना रहे और आपके हृदय के किसी छोटे से कोने में मेरी स्मृति बनी रहे, यही मैं आपके चरणों में पड़कर भीख माँगता हूँ।’
इस प्रकार महाप्रभु के प्रेमालिंगन को पाकर और महाप्रभु की प्रसन्नता को लाभ करके महाराज प्रभु के चरणों में प्रणाम करके चले गये। भक्तवृन्द महाराज के भाग्य की भूरि-भूरि प्रशंसा करने लगे।
उसी समय जाकर महाराज ने वाणीनाथ के हाथों बलगण्डिका भगवान का बहुत-सा प्रसाद प्रभु के समीप भिजवा दिया। प्रसाद से सैकड़ों वस्तुएँ थी। पचासों प्रकार के छोटे-बड़े अलग-अलग जाति के आम थे; केला, सन्तरा, नारियल, नारंगी तथा और भी भाँति-भाँति के फल थे। किसमिस, बादाम, अखरोट, अञ्जीर, काजू, छुहारे, पिस्ता, चिरौंजी, दाख, मखाने तथा और भी पचासों प्रकार के मेवा थे। भाँति-भाँति की मिठाइयाँ थीं। अनेक प्रकार के पेय पदार्थ थे। उन नाना भाँति के पदार्थों से वह वाटिका भवन भर गया। भगवान के ऐसे प्रसाद को देखकर प्रभु को परम प्रसन्नता हुई। वे अपने हाथों से ही भक्तों को प्रसाद वितरण करने लगे। एक-एक भक्त को दस-दस, बीस बीस दोने देते तो भी सब चीजें थोड़ी-थोड़ी उनमें नहीं जातीं। थोड़ी उनमें नहीं आतीं।
महाप्रभु भक्तों को संकीर्तन से थका हुआ समझकर यथेष्ट प्रसाद दे रहे थे। सभी को प्रसाद वितरण करके प्रभु ने उसे पाने की आज्ञा दी; किन्तु प्रभु के पहले प्रसाद को पा ही कौन सकता था, इसलिये प्रभु अपने मुख्य-मुख्य भक्तों को साथ लेकर प्रसाद पाने बैठ गये। सभी ने खूब डटकर प्रसाद पाया। महाप्रभु आग्रहपूर्वक उन सबको खिला रहे थे। भक्तों से जो प्रसाद बचा वह अभ्यागतों को बाँट दिया गया। प्रसाद पा पाने लेने का अनन्तर सभी भक्त विश्राम करने लगे।
इतने में ही रथ के चलने का समय आ पहुँचा। महाराज ने रथ को चलाने की आज्ञा दी। लाखों आदमी एक साथ मिलकर रथ को खींचने लगे, किन्तु रथ टस से मस नहीं हुआ, तब तो महाराज बड़े ही चिन्तित हुए। इतनें में ही महाप्रभु अपने भक्तों के साथ रथ के सीमप पहुँच गये।
महाप्रभु ने ‘हरि, हरि’ शब्द करते हुए जोरों के साथ रथ में धक्का दिया और रथ उसी समय घर घर शब्द करता हुआ जोरों से चलने लगा। सभी को बड़ी भारी प्रसन्नता हुई। गौड़ीय भक्त ‘जगन्नाथ जी की जय’, ‘गौरचन्द्र की जय’, ‘श्रीकृष्णचैतन्य की जय’ आदि जय जयकारों से आकाश गुँजाने लगे। इस प्रकार बात-की-बात में रथ गुण्टिचा भवन के समीप पहुँच गया। वहाँ जाकर भगवान को मन्दिर में पधराया गया। भगवान के पुजारियों ने जगन्नाथ जी की आरती आदि की। महाप्रभु ने मन्दिर के सामने ही कीर्तन आरम्भ कर दिया। बड़ी देर तक संकीर्तन होता रहा। फिर महाप्रभु सभी भक्तों के सहित भगवान की सन्ध्याकालीन भोग आरती में सम्मिलित हुए। सभी ने भगवान की वन्दना और स्तुति की। तदनन्तर भक्तों के सहित महाप्रभु ने गुण्टिचा उद्यान मन्दिर के समीप आई टोटा नामक एक बाग में रात्रिभर निवास किया। गुण्टिचा मन्दिर में नौ दिनों तक उत्सव होता है। महाप्रभु भी तब तक भक्तों के सहित यहीं रहे।

The pride of the kingdom is the pride of the good family For the rise of Sri Krishna Chaitanya. That king who is the best of devotees should give up everything Pratapa Rudra is my respected and worshipped.
Kabir Baba has said the truth-
It is easy to get drunk, your behavior is not like that. Bapuri turned out to dance, then how was the veil.
Really, where there is a veil, how can there be a meeting? Where there is a wall standing in between, where is the pleasure of darshan? Where there is interference there cannot be true happiness. As long as there is pride of position, money-family, scholarship and effort, it is very difficult to reach the beloved. As long as the deep ditch of ego is carved in the middle, till then it is difficult to reach the palace of love. No one can be able to receive his prasad, unless he goes near the feet of the Beloved leaving all the pride. That’s why Mahatma Kabirdas ji has said-
Taste or love juice, keep or honor. Two swords in one sheath, no ears seen or heard.
As long as Maharaj Prataparudra ji remained in the pride of state honor and kept sending messages to other men, he remained deprived of the grace of Mahaprabhu. When he left everything and took shelter of Lord Padpadma like a nishkinchan devotee, then he became Mahabhag Param Bhagwat and he was counted among the supreme Vaishnava devotees.
Mahaprabhu was resting happily in the flower garden of Balagandi. Due to the fatigue of singing and dancing, all the organs of the Lord were getting relaxed. Some of his lotus-like eyes were open and some were closed. Prabhu, lying in a semi-sleeping state, was feeling ecstasy at the touch of the cool air, and in the meanwhile, Katkadhik Maharaj Prataparudra ji went for the darshan of the Prabhu after getting a signal from Sarvabhaum Bhattacharya. Maharaj had taken off his royal clothes; He had also abandoned the royal symbols like umbrella, chavar and crown. Dressed majestically in a simple dress, he went barefoot to have the darshan of the Lord. According to the rule, his bodyguards also followed behind Maharaj, but Maharaj prevented all of them from coming with him. He started going near the Lord alone.
Maharaj saw that all the devotees were resting under the pleasant cool shade of trees immersed in bliss. Maharaj bowed down to all the Vaishnavas on whom his vision fell. He saw the Lord lying at a distance with a half-hearted look. Mahaprabhu was lying down happily. Maharaj was a little scared at first, then slowly went and held the feet of the Lord and started pressing them slowly with his soft fingers of arun color. Stamping his feet, he started singing the Gopi Geet of the tenth canto of Shrimad Bhagwat.
Rasikshiromani Shri Krishna ji has suddenly disappeared from the Raas Mandal. Saddened by the sorrow of their separation, the Gopikas are lamenting, asking the animals-birds and creeper-groves about the Lord. The same separation has been described in the 19 verses of the Gopika song ‘Jayati Teadhikam’ etc. Maharaj was singing those verses in a very sweet voice. Mahaprabhu’s love samadhi started as soon as he heard the verses. In the ecstasy of love, he did not care who was pressing our feet and who was giving us the nectar that gives ultimate peace to our hearts. Prabhu used to say words like ‘Wah wah, yes yes, then again, say further, say further’ in the semi-conscious state. While singing other verses, Maharaj started singing this verse-
Your story is the nectar of a burning life It is sung by the poets and removes the impurities. Shravanamangalam Srimadattatam They are praised by the generous people on earth.
Then Mahaprabhu immediately got up and sat down and hugging Maharaj loudly said- ‘Oh, Mahabhag! you are blessed I can never be in debt with this debt of yours. Today you have thanked me by making me drink Premamrit. You have given me a priceless gem, what should I give you in return? I only have this love hug, I give it to you only. Please introduce yourself to us. Who are you? Why have you blessed me without any reason? Maharaj said in a very humble manner – ‘Lord! I am an unconquerable servant desirous of becoming the slave of your slaves. What have I achieved today? After getting the love of God, then what is the only thing left for me in the world? Today I am blessed. My human birth has been successful. Received the reward of serving Jagannathji for so many days. May my unbroken affection remain at your feet and may my memory remain in some small corner of your heart, this is what I beg by falling at your feet.’
In this way, after getting the love of Mahaprabhu and benefiting from the pleasure of Mahaprabhu, Maharaj bowed down at the feet of the Lord and went away. Devotees started praising Maharaj’s fortune.
At the same time, Maharaj sent a lot of Prasad of Balgandika God near the Lord through the hands of Vaninath. There were hundreds of items from Prasad. There were fifty different types of mangoes, big and small; There were bananas, oranges, coconuts, oranges and many other fruits. There were raisins, almonds, walnuts, figs, cashews, dates, pistachios, chironji, grapes, makhane and fifty other types of nuts. There were different types of sweets. There were many types of beverages. That Vatika building was filled with those different types of substances. The Lord was very pleased to see such offerings of the Lord. He started distributing prasad to the devotees with his own hands. Even if ten-ten, twenty-twenty two are given to each devotee, everything does not go to them little by little. They don’t understand a little.
Mahaprabhu was giving enough prasad to the devotees thinking that they were tired from sankirtan. By distributing Prasad to everyone, the Lord ordered them to receive it; But who could have received the Prasad before the Lord, so the Lord sat down to receive the Prasad, taking his main devotees along with him. Everyone got the prasad with a lot of determination. Mahaprabhu was insistently feeding them all. The prasad left over from the devotees was distributed to the guests. After getting the Prasad, all the devotees started taking rest.
In the meantime, the time for the chariot to move has arrived. Maharaj ordered to drive the chariot. Lakhs of people together started pulling the chariot, but the chariot did not budge, then Maharaj was very worried. Meanwhile, Mahaprabhu along with his devotees reached the limit of the chariot.
Mahaprabhu shouted the words ‘Hari, Hari’ and pushed the chariot with great force and at the same time the chariot started moving loudly shouting the words ‘Hari, Hari’. Everyone was very happy. Gaudiya devotees started echoing the sky with ‘Jai Jagannath ji’, ‘Gaurachandra ki Jai’, ‘Sri Krishna Chaitanya ki Jai’ etc. In this way, the chariot reached near Gunticha Bhawan. After going there, God was brought to the temple. The priests of God performed aarti etc. of Jagannathji. Mahaprabhu started kirtan right in front of the temple. The chanting went on for a long time. Then Mahaprabhu along with all the devotees participated in the evening Bhog Aarti of the Lord. Everyone worshiped and praised the Lord. Thereafter, Mahaprabhu along with the devotees stayed overnight in a garden called I Tota near Gunticha Udyan Temple. The festival lasts for nine days in the Gunticha temple. Till then Mahaprabhu also stayed here along with the devotees.
