[भज] निताई-गौर राधेश्याम [जप] हरेकृष्ण हरेराम
राढ़-देश में उन्मत्त-भ्रमण
एतां समास्थाय परात्मनिष्ठा–
मध्यासितां पूर्वतमैर्महर्षिभि: ।
अहं तरिष्यामि दुरन्तपारं
तमो मुकुन्दाङ्घ्रिनिषेवयैव।।
निशा का अन्त हुआ, पूर्व-दिशा में अरुणोदय की लालिमा छा गयी, मानो प्रभु के लाल वस्त्रों का प्रतिबिम्ब पूर्व-दिशा में पड़ गया हो। भगवान भुवन-भास्कर नवीन संन्यासी, श्रीकृष्ण-चैतन्य के दर्शनों को उतावले-से प्रतीत होने लगे। वे आकाश में द्रुतगति से गमन कर रहे थे। नित्य-कर्म से निवृत्त होकर प्रभु ने अपने गुरुदेव के चरणों में प्रणाम किया और उनसे वृन्दावन जाने की आज्ञामांगी। प्रेम में पागल हुए संन्यासी प्रवर भारती महाराज अपने नवीन शिष्य के वियोग-दु:ख को स्मरण करके बड़े ही दु:खी हुए, उनकी दोनों आँखों में आंसू भर आये। आँसुओ को पोंछते हुए भारती जी ने कहा- ‘कृष्ण-चैतन्य! मैं समझता था, कुछ काल तुम्हारी संगति में रहकर मैं भी श्रीकृष्ण-प्रेम-रसामृत का पान कर सकूँगा, किन्तु तुम आज ही अन्यत्र जाने की तैयारियाँ कर रहे हो, इससे मेरा हृदय विदीर्ण हुआ जाता है। यद्यपि मैं गृहत्यागी वीतरागी संन्यासी कहलाता हूँ, तो भी न जाने क्यों तुम्हारी विछोह से मेरा दिल धड़क रहा है और स्वाभाविक ही हृदय में एक प्रकार की बैचेनी-सी उत्पन्न हो रही है। भैया! तुम कुछ काल मेरे आश्रम पर रहो। फिर जहाँ भी कहीं चलना हो दोनों साथ-ही-साथ चलेंगे।’
दोनों हाथों की अजंलि बांधे हुए चैतन्य देव ने कहा- ‘गुरुदेव! आपकी आज्ञा पालन करना तो मेरा सर्वप्रधान कार्य है किंतु मैं करूँ क्या, मेरा मन श्रीकृष्ण से मिलने के लिये व्याकुल हो रहा है। अब मुझे श्रीकृष्ण के बिना देखे चैन नहीं। आप ऐसा आशीर्वाद दीजिये कि मैं अपने प्यारे श्रीकृष्ण को पा सकूँ और आपके चरण-कमलों का सदा स्मरण करता रहूँ। अब तो मैं आज्ञा ही चाहता हूँ।’
प्रभु के प्रेम-पाश में बंधे हुए भारती जी कहने लगे- ‘यदि तुम नहीं मानते हो और जाने के ही लिये तुले हुए हो, तो चलो मैं भी तुम्हारे साथ कुछ दूर तक चलता हूँ।’ यह कहकर भारती जी भी अपना दण्ड-कमण्डलु लेकर साथ चलने के लिये तैयार हो गये। प्रभु अपने गुरुदेव भारती महाराज को आगे करके पश्चिम दिशा की ओर चलने लगे और उनके पीछे चन्द्रशेखर आचार्यरत्न, नित्यानन्द, गदाधर और मुकुन्द आदि भक्त भी चलने लगे। आचार्यरत्न को अपने पीछे आते देखकर प्रभु अत्यन्त ही दीनभाव से उनसे कहने लगे- आचार्य देव! आपने मेरे पीछे सदा से कष्ट ही उठाये हैं। मेरी प्रसन्नता के लिये आपने अपनी इच्छा के विरुद्ध भी बहुत-से कार्य किये हैं, मैं आपके ऋण से जन्म-जन्मान्तरोंपर्यन्त उऋण नहीं हो सकता। आप से मेरी यही प्रार्थना है कि अब आप घर के लिए लौट जायँ।’
लौटने का नाम सुनते ही आचार्यरत्न मूर्च्छित होकर पृथ्वी पर गिर पड़े और रोते-रोते कहने लगे- ‘आपकी आज्ञा के विरुद्ध कार्य करने की शक्ति ही किसमें है! आप जिसे जो आज्ञा करेंगे, उसे वही करना होगा, किंतु मेरी हार्दिक इच्छा थी कि कुछ काल और प्रभु के सहवास-सुख से अपने जीवन को कृतार्थ कर सकूं।’
प्रभु ने स्नेह के साथ बहुत ही सरलतापूर्वक कहा- ‘न’ यह ठीक नहीं है। आज आपको घर छोडे़ तीन-चार दिन होते हैं। घर पर बाल-बच्चे न जाने क्या सोच रहे होंगे, आप अब जायँ ही।’
अश्रु-विमोचन करते हुए प्रभु के पैरों को पकड़कर आचार्य कहने लगे- ‘प्रभो! मुझे भुलाइयेगा नहीं। नवद्वीप के नर-नारियों को भी बड़ा सन्ताप है, उन्हें भी अपने दर्शनों से सुखी बनाइयेगा। मैं ऐसा भाग्यहीन निकला कि प्रभु की कुछ भी सेवा न कर सका। नवद्वीप में भी मैं सदा सेवा से वंचित ही रहा।’ अब तक प्रभु अपने अश्रुओं को बलपूर्वक रोके हुए थे। अब उनसे नहीं रहा गया। वे जोरों से रोते हुए कहने लगे- ‘आचार्यदेव! आप सदा से पिता की भाँति मेरी देख-रेख करते रहे हैं। मुझे अपने पिता का ठीक-ठीक होश नहीं। आपके ही द्वारा मैं सदा पितृ-सुख का अनुभव करता रहा हूँ। आप मेरे पितृतुल्य क्या पिता ही हैं। आप तो सदा ही मुझ पर सगे पुत्र की भाँति वात्सल्य-स्नेह रखते रहे हैं, किंतु मैं ही ऐसा भाग्यहीन निकला कि आपकी कुछ भी सेवा न कर सका। अब ऐसा आशीर्वाद दीजिये कि मैं शीघ्र-से-शीघ्र अपने प्राणप्यारे श्रीकृष्ण को पा सकूं। आप अब जायँ और अधिक देरी न करें।’
यह कहकर प्रभु ने अपने हाथों से भूमि में पड़े हुए आचार्य को उठाया और उनका गाढा़लिंगन करते हुए प्रभु कहने लगे- ‘आप जाइये और माता तथा मेरे दु:ख से दु:खी हुए सभी भक्तों को सान्त्वना प्रदान कीजिये। माता से कह दीजियेगा, मैं शीघ्र ही उनके चरणों के दर्शन करूँगा।’ प्रभु की बात सुनकर सुखी मन से आचार्यरत्न ने प्रभु की आज्ञा का शिरोधार्य किया। और वे नवद्वीप के लिये लौट गये और लोगों ने बहुत आग्रह करने पर भी लौटना स्वीकार नहीं किया। सबसे आगे भारती जी चल रहे थे, उनके पीछे दण्ड-कमण्डलु धारण किये हुए महाप्रभु प्रेम में विभोर हुए नृत्य करते हुए जा रहे थे। उनके पीछे नित्यानन्द, गदाधर और मुकुन्ददत्त थे।
प्रभु प्रेम में बेसुध होकर कभी तो हंसने लगते थे, कभी तो हंसने लगते थे, कभी रुदन करने लगते थे और कभी-कभी जोरों से ‘हा कृष्ण! ओ प्यारे!! रक्षा करो!!! कहाँ चले गये? मुझे विरह-सागर से उबारो। मैं तुम्हारे लिये व्याकुल हो रहा हूँ।’ इस प्रकार जोरों से चिल्लाकर क्रन्दन करने लगते थे। उनकी वाणी में अत्यधिक करुणा थी। उनके रुदन को सुनकर पाषाण हृदय भी पसीज जाते थे। उन्हें अपने शरीर का कुछ भी होश नहीं था। बिना कुछ सोचे– विचारे अलक्षित पथ की ओर वैसे ही चले जा रहे थे। इस प्रकार भारती जी के पीछे-पीछे उन्होंने राढ़-देश में प्रवेश किया और सायंकाल होने के समय सभी ने एक छोटे से ग्राम में किसी भाग्यशाली कुलीन ब्राह्मण के यहाँ निवास किया। उस अतिथिप्रिय श्रद्धालु ब्राह्मण ने अपने भाग्य की सराहना करते हुए आगत सभी महात्माओं का यथाशक्ति खूब सत्कार किया और उन सभी को श्रद्धा-भक्ति के सहित भिक्षा करायी। भिक्षा करके प्रभु पृथ्वी पर आसन बिछाकर सोये।
भारती जी का आसन ऊपर की ओर लगाया गया और गदाधर, मुकुन्द तथा नित्यानन्द जी प्रभु को चारों ओर से घेरकर सोये।दिनभर रास्ता चलने से सब-के-सब पड़ते ही सो गये, किंतु प्रभु की आँखों में नींद कहां? वे तो श्रीकृष्ण के लिये व्याकुल हो रहे थे। सबको गहरी निद्रा में देखकर प्रभु धीरे से उठे। पास में रखे हुए अपने दण्ड-कमण्डलु को उठाया और भक्तों को सोते ही छोड़कर रात्रि में ही पश्चिम दिशा को लक्ष्य करके चलने लगे। वे प्रेम में विभोर होकर-
हरे कृष्ण हरे कृष्ण कृष्ण कृष्ण हरे हरे।
हरे राम हरे राम राम राम हरे हरे।।
इस महामन्त्र का उच्चारण करते जाते थे। कभी अधीर होकर कातर वाणी से-
राम राघव! राम राघव! राम राघव! रक्ष माम्।
कृष्ण केशव! कृष्ण केशव! कृष्ण केशव! पाहि माम्।।
-इन नामों को लेते हुए जोरों से रुदन करते जाते थे। इधर नित्यानन्द जी की आँखें खुलीं। उन्होंने सम्भ्रव के सहित चारों ओर प्रभु को देखा, किंतु अब प्रभु कहां? वे सर्वस्व हरण हुए व्यापारी की भाँति यह कहते हुए ‘हाय! प्रभो! हम अभागियों को आप सोते हुए छोड़कर कहाँ चले गये?’ जोरों के साथ रुदन करने लगे। नित्यानन्द जी के रुदन को सुनकर सब-के-सब मनुष्य जाग पड़े और एक-दूसरे को दोष देते हुए कहने लगे- ‘हमने पहले ही कहा था कि बारी-बारी से एक-एक आदमी पहरा दो, किंतु किसी ने मानी ही नहीं। कोई अपनी निद्रा को ही धिक्कार देने लगे। इस प्रकार सब भाँति-भाँति से विलाप करने लगे।
अब नित्यानन्द जी ने भारती महाराज से प्रार्थना की- ‘भगवन्! आप अब अपने आश्रम को लौट जायँ। आप हम लोगों के साथ कहाँ भटकते फिरेंगे। हम तो जहाँ भी मिलेंगे, वहीं जाकर प्रभु की खोज करेंगे।’
भारती जी अब करते ही क्या, अन्त में उन्होंने दु:खित होकर आश्रम को लौट जाने का ही निश्चय किया और नित्यानन्द जी गदाधर तथा मुकुन्द को साथ लेकर पश्चिम दिशा की ओर प्रभु को खोजने के लिये चले।
प्रभु बहुत दूर निकल गये थे। वे प्रेम में बेसूध होकर कभी गिर पड़ते, कभी लोट-पोट हो जाते और कभी घंटों मूर्च्छित होकर ही पड़े रहते। कृष्ण-प्रेम में अधीर होकर वे इतने जोरों से रुदन करते कि उनकी क्रन्दन-ध्वनि कोसभर से सुनायी देती थी। रात्रि के समय वैसे भी आवाज दूर तक सुनायी देती है। भक्तों ने प्रभु के करूण-क्रन्दन की ध्वनि दूर से ही सुनी। उस ध्वनि के श्रवणमात्र से ही सभी के शरीर पुलकित हो उठे। सभी आनन्द में उन्मत्त होकर एक-दूसरे का आलिंगन करते हुए, नृत्य करते हुए और उसी ध्वनि का अनुमान करते हुए प्रभु के पास पहुँचे। चार-पांच कोसपर वक्रेश्वर भी आ मिले। मुकुन्ददत्त ने बड़े ही सुरीले स्वर से-
श्रीकृष्ण गोविन्द हरे मुरारे। हे नाथ नारायण वासुदेव!
-इन भगवन्नमों का संकीर्तन आरम्भ कर दिया। संकीर्तन को सुनते ही प्रभु आनन्द के सहित नृत्य करने लगे। सभी भक्त प्रभु के दर्शनों से परम प्रसन्न हुए, मानो किसी की चोरी गयी हुई सम्पूर्ण सम्पत्ति फिर से प्राप्त हो गयी हो। प्रभु भी भक्तों को देखकर सुखी हुए। कुछ काल के अनन्तर प्रभु प्रकृतिस्थ हुए। उन्हें अब बाह्यज्ञान होने लगा। वे नित्यानन्द जी, वक्रेश्वर आदि भक्तों को देखकर कहने लगे- ‘आप लोग खूब आ गये। मैं आप लोगों से एक बात कहना चाहता हूँ।’
सभी भक्त उत्सुकता के साथ प्रभु के मुख की ओर देखने लगे। तब प्रभु ने कहा- ‘मुझे भगवान का आदेश हुआ है, कि तुम जगन्नाथपुरी जाओ। पुरी में अच्युत भगवान ने मुझे शीघ्र ही बुलाया है। इसलिये अब मैं नीलाचल की ओर जाऊंगा। अब मुझे शीघ्र ही आकर पुरी में अपने स्वामी के दर्शन करने हैं।’
प्रभु की इस बात को सुनकर सभी को परम प्रसन्नता प्राप्त हुई। प्रभु के मन की बात जान ही कौन सकता है कि वे भक्तों की प्रसन्नता के निमित्त क्या-क्या करना चाहते हैं। इस प्रकार अब प्रभु पश्चिम की ओर न जाकर फिर पूर्व की ओर चलने लगे।
उस समय तक राढ़-देश में भगवन्नाम-संकीर्तन का प्रचार नहीं हुआ था, इसलिये उस देश की ऐसी दशा देखकर प्रभु को अत्यन्त ही दु:ख हुआ। वे विकलता प्रकट करते हुए नित्यानन्द जी से कहने लगे- ‘श्रीपाद! इस देश में कहीं भी संकीर्तन की सुमधुर ध्वनि सुनायी नहीं पड़ती है और न यहाँ किसी के मुख से भगवन्नामों का ही उच्चारण सुना है। सचमुच यह देश भक्तिशून्य है। भगवन्नाम को बिना सुने, मेरा जीवन व्यर्थ है, मेरे इस व्यर्थ के भ्रमण को धिक्कार है।’ इतने ही में प्रभु को जगंल में बहुत-सी गौएं चरती हुई दिखायी दीं। उनमें से बहुत-सी तो हरी-हरी दूब को चर रही थीं, बहुत-सी प्रभु के मुख की ओर निहार रही थीं, बहुत-सी पूंछों को उठा-उठाकर इधर-से-उधर प्रभु के चारों ओर भाग रही थीं- मानो वे प्रभु की परिक्रमा कर रही हों। उनके चराने वाले ग्वाले कम्बल की घोंघी (खोइया) ओढे़ हुए हाथ में लाठी लिये प्रभु की ओर देख रहे थे।
प्रभु को देखते ही ये जोरों से ‘हरि बोल, हरि बोल’ कहकर चिल्लाने लगे। उन छोटे-छोटे बालगोपालों के मुख से श्रीहरि का कर्णप्रिय सुमधुर नाम सुनकर प्रभु अधीर हो उठे। उन्हें उस समय एकदम वृन्दावन का स्मरण हो आया और वे बालगोपालों के समीप जाकर उनके सिरों पर हाथ रखते हुए कहने लगे- ‘हां, और कहो, बोलो हरि हरि कहो।’ बच्चे आनन्द में आकर और जोरों के साथ हरिध्वनि करने लगे। प्रभु की प्रसन्नता का ठिकाना नहीं रहा। वे उन बालकों के पास बैठ गये और बालकों की –सी क्रीडाएँ करने लगे। उनसे बहुत-सी बातें पूछने लगे। बातों-ही-बातों में प्रभु ने उन लोगों से पूछा- ‘यहाँ से गंगाजी कितनी दूर हैं?’
एक चुलबुले स्वभाव वाले बालक ने कहा- ‘महाराज जी! गंगा जी दूर कहाँ हैं, बस, अपने को गंगा जी के किनारे ही समझो। हमारा गांव गंगा जी के खादर में तो है ही। दो-तीन घंटे में आप धारा के समीप पहुँच जायंगे।
प्रभु ने प्रसन्नता प्रकट करते हुए कहा- ‘धन्य है, गंगा माता का ही ऐसा प्रभाव है कि जहाँ के छोटे-छोटे बच्चे भी भगवन्नामों का उच्चारण करते हैं। जगन्माता भगवती भागीरथी का प्रभाव ही ऐसा है, कि उसके किनारे पर रहने वाले कूकर-शूकर भी भगवान के प्रिय बन सकते हैं।’ इस प्रकार बहुत देर तक बालकों से बातें करने के अनन्तर प्रभु भक्तों के सहित सांयकाल के समय पुण्यतोया सुरसरि मां जाह्नवी के किनारे पहुँचे। गंगा माता के दर्शनों से ही प्रभु गद्गद हो उठे और दोनों हाथों को जोड़कर स्तुति करने लगे- ‘गंगा मैया! तुम सचमुच संसार के सभी प्रकार के पाप-तापों को मेटने वाली हो। माता! सहस्रवदन शेष जी भी तुम्हारे यश का गायन नहीं कर सकते।
माता! तुम्हीं आदि-शक्ति हो, तुम्हीं ब्रह्माणी हो, तुम्हीं रुद्राणी हो और तुम्हीं साक्षात लक्ष्मी हो। देवाधिदेव महादेव ने तुम्हें अपने सिर पर धारण किया हैं, तुम भगवान के चरणकमलों से उत्पन्न हुई हो। जननी! तुम्हारे चरणों में हमारा कोटि-कोटि प्रणाम है। मंगलमयी माता! हमारा कल्याण करो।’ इस प्रकार प्रभु ने गंगाजी की स्तुति करके उनकी रेणु को सिर पर चढा़या और माता के पावन जल से आचमन किया। सभी ने आनन्द के सहित गंगा जी में घुसकर स्नान किया और रात्रि में पास के एक छोटे-से गांव में किसी ब्राह्मण के यहाँ निवास किया। प्रात:काल प्रभु ने नित्यानन्द जी से कहा- ‘श्रीपाद! आप नवद्वीप में जाकर शचीमाता को और अन्यान्य भक्तों को सूचित कर दें कि मैं यहाँ आ गया हूँ।
आप नवद्वीप जायँ, तब तक हम अद्वैताचार्य जी के दर्शनों के लिये शान्तिपुर चलते हैं। वहीं सबसे भेंट करेंगे। आप शीघ्र जाइये। विलम्ब करने से काम न चलेगा।’ प्रभु की आज्ञा शिरोधार्य करके नित्यानन्द जी तो गंगा पार करके नवद्वीप की ओर गये और प्रभु गंगा जी के किनारे-किनारे शान्तिपुर के इस पार हरिदास जी के आश्रम में फुलिया नामक ग्राम में आकर ठहर गये।

Having established this, self-reliance- The great sages of the past had meditated on the city. I will cross the infinite beyond Darkness is by serving the feet of Mukunda.
The twilight has come to an end, the redness of Arunodaya has spread in the east, as if the reflection of the red clothes of the Lord has fallen in the east. Bhagwan Bhuvan-Bhaskar Naveen Sanyasi, seemed eager to have the darshan of Sri Krishna-Chaitanya. They were moving fast in the sky. After retiring from daily work, the Lord bowed down at the feet of his Gurudev and sought permission from him to go to Vrindavan. Sanyasi Pravar Bharti Maharaj, who was madly in love, was very sad remembering the separation and sorrow of his new disciple, both his eyes were filled with tears. Wiping the tears, Bharti ji said – ‘ Krishna-Chaitanya! I used to think that by being in your company for some time, I too would be able to drink the nectar of Krishna’s love, but today you are making preparations to go elsewhere, it breaks my heart. Although I am called a householder, a renunciate, still I don’t know why my heart is beating due to your separation and naturally a kind of restlessness is arising in my heart. Brother You stay at my ashram for some time. Then wherever you have to walk, both will walk together.’
Chaitanya Dev, tying both hands with Ajnali, said – ‘Gurudev! Obeying your orders is my foremost task, but what should I do, my mind is getting anxious to meet Shri Krishna. Now I am not at peace without seeing Shri Krishna. You bless me in such a way that I can find my beloved Shri Krishna and always remember your lotus feet. Now all I want is permission.’
Bharti ji, bound in the love-loop of the Lord, started saying- ‘If you do not agree and are bent on going, then let me also walk with you for some distance.’ By saying this, Bharti ji also punished himself. Got ready to go with him. Prabhu started walking towards west by taking his Gurudev Bharti Maharaj in front and devotees like Chandrashekhar Acharyaratna, Nityanand, Gadadhar and Mukund etc. also started following him. Seeing Acharyaratna coming after him, the Lord started saying to him with great humility – Acharya Dev! You have always taken pains after me. You have done many things for my happiness even against your will, I cannot be indebted to you for many births. My only request to you is that now you return home.
As soon as he heard the name of return, Acharyaratna fainted and fell on the earth and started crying saying – ‘ Who has the power to act against your orders! Whoever you command, he will have to do the same, but I had a heartfelt desire to make my life fruitful for some time and with the company of God. The Lord said very simply with affection – ‘No’ it is not right. Today you leave home for three to four days. Don’t know what the children at home must be thinking, you must go now.’
Releasing tears, holding the feet of the Lord, the Acharya started saying – ‘Lord! Will not forget me The men and women of Navadvipa are also very distressed, you will make them happy with your darshan. I turned out to be so unlucky that nothing could serve the Lord. I was always deprived of service even in Navadweep.’ Till now the Lord was holding back his tears forcefully. Now he could not stay with them. They started crying loudly and said – ‘ Acharyadev! You have always been taking care of me like a father. I am not very conscious of my father. It is through you that I have always been experiencing fatherly happiness. What a father like you are to me. You have always been loving me like a real son, but I turned out to be so unlucky that I could not serve you. Now give me such a blessing that I can find my beloved Shri Krishna as soon as possible. You go now and don’t delay much.’
Saying this, the Lord raised the Acharya lying on the ground with His own hands and hugging him deeply, the Lord said – ‘You go and console the mother and all the devotees who are saddened by my sorrow. Tell mother, I will see her feet soon.’ After listening to the Lord, Acharyaratna obeyed the Lord’s command with a happy heart. And he returned to Nabadwip and the people did not accept to return even after many requests. Bharti ji was walking in the front, followed by Mahaprabhu wearing Dand-Kamandalu, dancing in love. He was followed by Nityananda, Gadadhara and Mukundadatta.
Being unconscious in Lord’s love, sometimes he used to laugh, sometimes he used to laugh, sometimes he used to cry and sometimes he used to shout ‘Ha Krishna! Oh dear!! Protect!!! Where did you go? Save me from the ocean of separation. I am getting worried for you.’ In this way, he started crying loudly. There was a lot of compassion in his voice. Even the stone hearts used to sweat listening to his cry. He had no consciousness of his body. Without thinking anything, they were going towards the unintended path. In this way, following Bharti ji, they entered Raad-Desh and at the time of evening, all of them resided in a small village with a fortunate noble Brahmin. Appreciating his fortune, that guest-loving devout Brahmin felicitated all the Mahatmas as much as he could and offered alms to all of them with reverence and devotion. After begging, the Lord slept on a seat on the earth.
Bharti ji’s seat was put upwards and Gadadhar, Mukund and Nityanand ji surrounded the Lord and slept. After walking the whole day, all of them fell asleep as soon as they fell, but where is the sleep in the eyes of the Lord? They were getting restless for Shri Krishna. Used to pronounce this great mantra. Sometimes with impatient voice
Ram Raghav! Ram Raghav! Ram Raghav! Protect me. Krishna Keshav! Krishna Keshav! Krishna Keshav! Protect me.
Taking these names, he used to cry loudly. Here Nityanand ji’s eyes opened. They saw the Lord all around including Sambhrava, but where is the Lord now? They say like a merchant who has lost everything, ‘ Alas! Lord! Where did you go leaving us unfortunate people sleeping?’ They started crying loudly. Hearing the cry of Nityanand ji, all the people woke up and started blaming each other and said – ‘ We had already said that every man should be guarded one by one, but no one obeyed. Some started cursing their sleep. In this way everyone started lamenting in different ways.
Now Nityanand ji prayed to Bharti Maharaj – ‘ God! Now you return to your ashram. Where will you wander with us? Wherever we meet, we will go there in search of God.’ What could Bharti ji do now, in the end he decided to return to the ashram after being sad and Nityanand ji took Gadadhar and Mukund along with him and went towards the west to find the Lord. Prabhu had gone far away. Sometimes they would fall unconscious in love, sometimes they would roll around and sometimes they would lie unconscious for hours. Impatient in Krishna’s love, he used to cry so loudly that his cry was heard from everywhere. Even at night, the sound can be heard far and wide. The devotees heard the sound of Lord’s cry of compassion from a distance. Everyone’s body was thrilled just by hearing that sound. All mad with joy, embracing each other, dancing and anticipating the same sound, approached the Lord. Four-five Kospar Vakreshwar also came. Mukundadatta said in a very melodious voice-
Sri Krishna Govinda Hare Murare. O Nath Narayana Vasudeva!
Started chanting of these Bhagavannams. On hearing the Sankirtan, the Lord started dancing with joy. All the devotees were overjoyed at the darshan of the Lord, as if someone’s stolen wealth had been recovered. The Lord was also pleased to see the devotees. After some time, the Lord became natural. Now he started getting external knowledge. Seeing the devotees like Nityanand ji, Vakreshwar etc., he said – ‘You people have come a lot. I want to tell you one thing.’
All the devotees started looking at the face of the Lord with curiosity. Then the Lord said- ‘I have been ordered by God, that you go to Jagannathpuri. The infallible Lord has called me soon in Puri. That’s why now I will go towards Neelachal. Now I have to come soon to see my lord in Puri.’
Hearing this word of the Lord, everyone was very happy. Who can know the mind of the Lord that what He wants to do for the happiness of the devotees. In this way, instead of going towards the west, the Lord started walking towards the east.
Till that time, Lord’s name-sankirtan had not been propagated in Raad-Desh, so the Lord was very sad to see such a condition of that country. Expressing his distress, he started saying to Nityanand ji – ‘Shripad! The melodious sound of Sankirtan is not heard anywhere in this country, nor is the chanting of the Lord’s name heard from anyone’s mouth here. Really this country is devotionless. Without listening to the Lord’s name, my life is in vain, this futile journey of mine is a curse.’ Meanwhile, the Lord saw many cows grazing in the forest. Many of them were grazing green grass, many were gazing at the Lord’s face, many were running around the Lord with their tails wagging – as if they You are doing parikrama of the Lord. Her herdsmen were looking at the Lord with sticks in their hands covered with blanket’s snail (khoiya).
On seeing the Lord, they started shouting ‘Hari Bol, Hari Bol’. The Lord became impatient after hearing the melodious name of Sri Hari from the mouths of those small Balgopals. At that time, he immediately remembered Vrindavan and went near the Balagopals, placing his hands on their heads and said – ‘Yes, say more, say Hari Hari.’ The happiness of the Lord knew no bounds. He sat near those children and started playing like children. Started asking him many things. In small talk, the Lord asked those people – ‘How far is Gangaji from here?’
A flirtatious child said – ‘ Maharaj ji! Where is Ganga ji far away, just consider yourself to be on the banks of Ganga ji. Our village is in the Khadar of Ganga ji. In two-three hours you will reach near the stream.
Expressing happiness, the Lord said- ‘Blessed, Mother Ganga has such an influence that even the smallest children of the world pronounce the names of God. The effect of Mother Goddess Bhagirathi is such that even the cooks and pigs living on its banks can become dear to God. reached the shore The Lord became elated at the sight of Mother Ganga and started praising with folded hands – ‘ Mother Ganga! You are really the destroyer of all the sins of the world. Mother! Sahasravadan Shesh ji also cannot sing your fame.
Mother! You are the Adi-Shakti, you are the Brahmani, you are the Rudrani and you are the real Lakshmi. Devadhidev Mahadev has held you on his head, you are born from the lotus feet of God. Mother! We offer our obeisances at your feet. Auspicious mother! Do good to us.’ In this way, after praising Gangaji, the Lord offered her Renu on his head and bathed her with the holy water of the mother. Everyone entered and bathed in Ganga ji with joy and stayed at a Brahmin’s place in a small village nearby for the night. Early in the morning the Lord said to Nityanand ji – ‘Shripad! You go to Navadweep and inform Sachimata and other devotees that I have come here.
Till you go to Navadvipa, till then we go to Shantipur to see Advaitacharya ji. Will meet everyone there. You go soon Delay will not work.’ After obeying the Lord’s order, Nityanand ji crossed the Ganges and went towards Navadweep and on the other side of the Shantipur, on the banks of the Ganges, Lord Haridas ji’s ashram came and stayed in a village named Phulia.
