उपासना में जप का स्थान सबसे ऊपर है। राम नाम से लेकर गायत्री मंत्र तक सभी मंत्रों का जप माला से ही किया जाता है। माला में 108 दाने ही क्यों होते हैं। इसके सम्बंध में सहज यह प्रश्न उठता है कि इतने ही दाने क्यों रखे गये? इससे न्यूनाधिक क्यों नहीं रखे गये?
ऋषियों ने प्रत्येक व्यवस्था बहुत विचारपूर्वक की है। माला में 108 दाने के सम्बंध में निम्न तथ्य विचारणीय हैं-
बिना दर्मैश्र्च यत्कृत्यं यच्चदानं विनोदकम्।
असंख्यया तु यजप्तं तर्त्सवं निष्फलं भवेत्॥ –(अंगिरा स्मृति)
अर्थात्- बिना कुशा के जो धर्मानुष्ठान और बिना जल संस्पर्श के जो दान तथा बिना माला जप-वे सब निष्फल होते हैं।
माला के फेरने से कितना जप हुआ इसका ठीक पता चल जाता है। दूसरे अंगुष्ठ और अंगुली के संघर्ष से एक विलक्षण विद्युत उत्पन्न होती है जो धमनी के तार द्वारा सीधी हृदय-चक्र को प्रभावित कर मन को तुरंत ही निश्चल कर देती है।
सब कार्यों में नित्य कार्य में आने वाली माला में 108 दाने ही होते है, जिसके ऊपरी भाग में सुमेरु पृथक् रहता है। माला में 108 दाने का अपना विशुद्ध वैज्ञानिक रहस्य है।
1- प्रकृति-विज्ञान की दृष्टि से विश्व में प्रमुख रूप से कुल 27 नक्षत्रों को मान्यता दी गयी है। तथा प्रत्येक नक्षत्र के चार चरण ज्योतिष-शास्त्र में प्रसिद्ध हैं। 27 को चार-चरणों से गुणाकार करने पर 108 संख्या होती है।
अतः 108 संख्या समस्त विश्व का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाली सिद्ध होती है।
ब्रह्मांड में सुमेरु की स्थिति सर्वोपरि मानी गयी है। अतः माला में सुमेरु का स्थान सर्वोपरि ही रखा जाता है तथा उसका उल्लंघन नहीं किया जाता।
2- दिन-रात में मनुष्य-मात्र के श्वासों की संख्या 21 हजार 6 सौ वेद शास्त्रों में निश्चित की गयी है-
षट् शतानि दिवारात्रौ सहस्त्राण्येक विंशतिः।
एतत्संख्यात्मकं मन्त्रं जीवो जपति सर्वदा॥
-(चूड़ामणि उपनिषद् 32/33)
इस हिसाब से दिन भर के श्वाँस 10800 हुए तथा रात भर के श्वाँसों की संख्या भी 10800 हुई।
जप प्रमुख रूप से उपाँशु किया जाता है जिसका फल सामान्य रूप से सौ गुना बताया गया है।
अतः प्रातः सायं संध्या में 108-108 जप करने से 108&100= 10800 हुआ।
3- ज्योतिष शास्त्र में समस्त विश्व-ब्रह्मांड को 12-12 भागों में विभाजन किया गया है, जिनको “राशि” की संज्ञा प्रदान की गयी है। तथा प्रमुख रूप से 9 ग्रह माने गये हैं। अतः 12 राशि और 9 ग्रह का गुणनफल 108 होता है।
4- सृष्टि का मूल है ब्रह्म, जो कि निर्गुण, निर्विकार नित्य सत्य एवं सत्व युक्त है। उसके उत्पन्न अव्यक्त में इस गुण के अतिरिक्त आवरण शक्ति का प्राधान्य है जिससे उसका स्वभाव दो प्रकार का हो ही जाता है। इससे आगे महत् है, जिसमें उपरोक्त दो गुणों के अतिरिक्त विक्षेप शक्ति का समावेश भी है।
फलतः वह त्रिगुणात्मक हुआ। अहंकार ब्रह्म का चतुर्थावकार है, जो तत्वों के आधिक्य और पूर्ववर्ती पदार्थ के तीन गुणों को भी धारण करने से 4 गुणों वाला हुआ।
इस प्रकार आकाशादि सभी पदार्थ अपने एक विशेष गुण के साथ पूर्ववर्ती पदार्थों के गुणों से भी युक्त होते हैं। इस प्रकार जो जितने गुणों को धारण करता है, उतने गुणों वाला कहलाता है।
1-अव्यक्त-2, महत्-3, अहंकार-4, आकाश-5, वायु-6, तेज-7, जल-8, भूमि-9 और नवगुणात्मक जगत् को धारण करने वाली अपरा 10-प्रकृति=54
यह तो सृष्टि क्रिया हुई, अब इसी क्रम में प्रलय प्रक्रिया समझनी चाहिए।
फलतः ‘सुमेरु’ रूप ब्रह्म से आरम्भ करके 54 उपादानों द्वारा जिस सृष्टि का निर्माण हुआ था, वह 54 उपादानों द्वारा ही प्रलय को प्राप्त होकर 108 की संख्या पूर्ण कर सुमेरु पर ही समाप्त हो जाती है।
माला में 108 दाने का आधुनिक विज्ञान,,,,भारतीय ऋषि-मुनि जो काम हज़ारों – लाखों वर्ष पूर्व कर गए हैं वो आजतक पूरी तरह से किसी के समझ में नहीं आ पाया है। लेकिन अच्छी बात ये ही की प्रयास जारी है।
पृथ्वी से सूर्य की दूरी = 149,600,000 किमी
पृथ्वी से चन्द्रमा की दूरी = 384,400 किमी
सूर्य का व्यास = 1,391,400 किमी
चन्द्रमा का व्यास = 3,474 किमी
यदि अब हम अब सूर्य के व्यास को 108 से गुणा करें तो हमें प्राप्त होता है –
सूर्य का व्यास क x 108 ≈ पृथ्वी से सूर्य की दूरी।
1,391,400 किमी x 108 = 150,271,200 किमी ≈ 149,600,000 किमी
इसी प्रकार जब हम चन्द्रमा के व्यास को 108 से गुणा करने पर –
चन्द्रमा का व्यास क x 108 ≈ पृथ्वी से सूर्य की दूरी।
3,474 किमी x 108 = 37,5192 किमी ≈ 384,400 किमी
इसका अर्थ है कि पृथ्वी से सूर्य के बीच की दुरी में सूर्य की 108 बार पुनरावृति होती है यानी कि 108 सूर्य समां सकते हैं तथा इसी प्रकार पृथ्वी से चन्द्रमा के बीच की दूरी में चन्द्रमा की भी 108 बार पुनरावृति होती है।
Chanting has the highest place in worship. From Ram Naam to Gayatri Mantra, all the mantras are chanted with the rosary. Why are there only 108 beads in the rosary? In this regard the question naturally arises that why only so many grains were kept? Why was it not kept more or less than this?
The sages have done a lot of arrangements with each arrangement. The following facts are worth considering 108 gifts in the garland: Without darmas and whatever is done and whatever charity is enjoyed without water. Innumerable, however, the sacrifice is fruitless, but the tarsa will be fruitless. -(Angira Smriti) That is, the practice of religion without Kusha and the gift of water without touch and without garlands and chanting are all in vain.
By turning the rosary one can know exactly how much chanting has been done. Due to the clash of the second thumb and finger, a strange electricity is generated which directly affects the heart chakra through the artery wire and immediately makes the mind still.
The rosary which is used daily in all tasks has only 108 beads, in the upper part of which Sumeru remains separate. The 108 beads in the rosary have their own pure scientific secret.
1- From the point of view of nature, a total of 27 main constellations have been recognized in the world. And the four phases of each constellation are famous in astrology. Multiplying 27 by four steps gives the number 108. Therefore, the number 108 proves to represent the entire world.
Sumeru’s position in the universe is considered paramount. Therefore, Sumeru’s place in the rosary is kept supreme and it is not violated.
2- Number of the breaths of human beings in the day and night, 21,0 Six hundred days and nights and twenty-one thousand. The living entity always chants this number of mantras. -(Chudamani Upanishad 32/33)
According to this, the number of breaths throughout the day was 10800 and the number of breaths throughout the night was also 10800.
Chanting is mainly done in Upanshu whose results are generally said to be hundredfold.
Hence, by chanting 108-108 morning and evening, 108&100 = 10800.
3- In astrology, the entire universe has been divided into 12 parts, which have been given the name of “Zodiac”. And mainly 9 planets are considered. Hence, the product of 12 zodiac signs and 9 planets is 108.
4- The origin of the universe is Brahma, which is formless, without any kind, eternal and full of truth. In addition to this quality, the latent power generated in it has the predominance of covering power due to which its nature becomes of two types. Beyond this there is importance, which in addition to the above two qualities also includes the power of deflection.
As a result he became triple. Ego is the fourth form of Brahma, which has 4 qualities due to abundance of elements and also possessing the three qualities of the preceding substance. In this way, all the substances in the sky along with their own special properties also have the properties of the previous substances. In this way, one is said to have as many qualities as he possesses.
1-Avyakt-2, Mahat-3, Ego-4, Sky-5, Vayu-6, Teja-7, Jal-8, Bhumi-9 and the other 10-natures that hold the newly-quality world=5 This is the creation action, now in this order, the doomsday process should be understood.
As a result, the universe which was created by 54 elements starting from Brahma in the form of ‘Sumeru’, gets destroyed by the same 54 elements and ends at Sumeru itself, completing the number of 108.
The modern science of 108 beads in a rosary, the work that Indian sages and saints did thousands and millions of years ago, has not been fully understood by anyone till date. But the good thing is that the efforts are continuing.
Distance from Earth to Sun = 149,600,000 km Distance from Earth to Moon = 384,400 km Sun’s diameter = 1,391,400 km Moon’s diameter = 3,474 km If we now multiply the diameter of the Sun by 108, we get – Sun’s diameter K x 108 ≈ Sun’s distance from Earth. 1,391,400 km x 108 = 150,271,200 km ≈ 149,600,000 km
Similarly, when we multiply the diameter of the moon by 108 – The diameter of the Moon k x 108 ≈ distance from the Earth to the Sun. 3,474 km x 108 = 37,5192 km ≈ 384,400 km
This means that in the distance between the Earth and the Sun, the Sun repeats itself 108 times, that is, 108 Suns can fit and similarly, in the distance between the Earth and the Moon, the Moon also repeats itself 108 times.
