गतांक से आगे –
श्रीवृन्दावन में पहुँच कर रात्रि में यमुना तट पर गौरा ने विश्राम किया था…यमुना जल और भूजा भोग लगाकर उसे ही स्वयं पाकर ये सो गयी थी । सुबह जब उठी तो गौरा क्या देखती है …दस बड़े बड़े विषधर सर्प अपने फन फैलाये गौरा की ओर ही देख रहे हैं ….गौरा उठी तो उसे वो फुफकार मारने लगे थे ….गौरा के समझ में नही आया क्या करें ? पर गौरा ने देखा वो सर्प सब बारी बारी से डलिया के पास आये और झुक कर प्रणाम करके चले गये …तब गौरा हंसी और बोली वाह ! शेष भगवान तुम्हें प्रणाम करने आये थे मीत ! मैं तो डर गयी थी ।
फिर गौरा ने स्नान किया वंशीवट का प्रेमपूर्ण क्षेत्र था वो ….गौरा बहुत आनंदित थी यहाँ आकर ….सामने गोपेश्वर महादेव का मन्दिर है ….गौरा वहाँ जाकर दर्शन करती है …तभी पास के ग्वालियर मन्दिर में भागवत कथा हो गयी थी श्रीगौरांग बाबा जी की …..ये श्रीवृन्दावन के प्रसिद्ध सन्त थे …..बाहर से ही इसे इतनी अच्छी कथा लगी कि भीतर जाकर बैठ गयी कथा सुनने ….हाथ में डलिया थी जिसमें इसके मीत बैठे थे …गर्मियों के दिन थे …अपने मीत को किसी को दिखाऊँगी नही ये सोच कर डलिया को एक लाल कपड़ा से ढँक कर रखती थी ……कथा में जाकर बैठ गयी ….गौरांग बाबा कथा कह रहे थे …अद्भुत और भावपूर्ण इनकी कथा होती थी …इनके नेत्र अधिकतर बन्द ही रहते …ह्रदय में लीला जब स्फुरित होती तभी ये कथा सुनाते ।
पर गौरांग बाबा का ध्यान आकर्षित हुआ कथा के बीच में गौरा के ऊपर ….सुन्दर थीं ये …कथा में इनके बैठते ही नेत्र खुल गये गौरांग बाबा के और गौरा को देखने लगे ….कुछ लोगों को ये अच्छा नही लगा ….कि बाबा बड़े महात्मा बनते हैं पर देखो इस सुन्दरी बंगाली बाला के आते ही कथा भूल गये …..पर बाबा ने हंसते हुए कहा ….”तेरे खसम कुं कोई नाँय देखेगो , गर्मी है रही है कपड़ा हटाय दे” । ये सुनते ही समस्त श्राताओं ने पीछे मुड़कर देखा तो गौरा चौक गयी …उसने डलिया में से जैसे ही लाल कपड़ा हटाया …सच में पसीने आरहे थे उस चित्र को ….वो उसी समय गौरांग बाबा के सामने लेट गयी और प्रार्थना करने लगी ….मुझे दीक्षा दीजिये ! गौरांग बाबा स्वयं बंगाल के थे ….वो बंगाली भाषा में ही बोले ….क्या तुमने अभी तक दीक्षा ली नही है ? वो बोली – गुरुदेव ! ढाका के गौड़ीय मठ में मुझे महामन्त्र प्रदान किया गया था पर उस समय मुझे कुछ उपदेश प्राप्त नही हुआ ….इसलिये मैं चाहती हूँ कि आप मेरे ऊपर कृपा करें ।
गौरा की बातें सुनकर गौरांग बाबा मौन रहे …और अपनी भागवत कथा को आगे सुनाने लगे …पर हाँ ….एक प्रसंग पर वो अवश्य इतना बोले थे ….”अधिकतर साधना करके सिद्धि पाते हैं …पर कई योगभ्रष्ट इस धरा पर ऐसे भी होते हैं जिन्हें सिद्धि पहले प्राप्त होजाती है और साधना बाद में करना पड़ता है “।
श्री गौरांग बाबा ने गौरा को दीक्षा प्रदान किया …
और इनका नाम गौरा से “गौर दासी” रख दिया था ।
श्रीवृन्दावन का ये क्षेत्र बहुत प्रिय लगा था गौर दासी को ….क्यों की गोपेश्वर महादेव यहाँ विराजे थे …..वंशीवट के निकट यमुना जी थीं …गौर दासी ने यहाँ के एक बृजवासी के घर में किराये पर एक कमरा लिया …ये परिवार बहुत अच्छा था …और गौरांग बाबा के प्रति श्रद्धा भी रखता था ।
गौर दासी वहीं रहने लगी ….अपने मीत को सुन्दर सुन्दर पकवान बनाकर खिलाती ….और बस भजन करती ….ये नित्य प्रातः यमुना स्नान को जाती थीं ।
एक दिन इनकी सुन्दरता पर मोहित हो गया बाउल सम्प्रदाय का एक बंगाली साधु ….पर ये भोली भाली गौर दासी कुछ समझ नही पायी …वो गीत सुनाता था जिसमें बस श्रीकृष्ण और श्रीराधा रानी के नाम का प्रयोग करके अश्लील श्रृंगार रस के माध्यम से गौर दासी को रिझाने का प्रयास करता था । ये बेचारी क्या समझतीं ….बस सुनतीं ….उन गीतों में श्रीकृष्ण और श्रीराधा रानी का नाम होता था इसलिये ये भाव में डूब जातीं ।
ये बाउल अब नित्य आने लगा …मकान मालिक समझ गया कि गौर दासी तो बेचारी भोली है पर ये वासना से भरा है ….आज जब वो आया हुआ था बाउल और गीत सुना रहा था ….गौर दासी भाव में डूबी नेत्रों को बन्दकर के बैठी थीं ….वो बारबार गौर दासी को छूने की कोशिश कर रहा था ….पर छू नही पा रहा था …उसी समय वो घर मालिक बृजवासी आगया …उसने देखा तो उसे फटकार लगाई ….और वहाँ से भगा दिया ….ये सब गौर दासी को पता नही है ….क्यों की उस समय वो भाव जगत में थीं ।
जब दूसरे दिन प्रातः यमुना स्नान को वो गयीं …तो वो बाउल वहाँ मिला उसको प्रणाम किया गौर दासी ने ….तो उसने कहा ….मुझे प्रेरणा हुई है कि हम दोनों एक साथ रहें ….इससे हमारी साधना अच्छी होगी ….ये सुनते ही गौर दासी वहाँ से चली गयी उन्हें अच्छा नही लगा । पर लीला स्फूर्ति रुक गयी गौर दासी की …उसका मीत अब न बोल रहा था न कुछ खा रहा था …वो चित्र अब मात्र चित्र ही था ।
गौर दासी के कुछ समझ नही आयी ….वो आँखें बन्दकर बैठती ….पर कोई लीला की स्फूर्ति हो नही रही थी….उसे घबराहट हुई ऐसा तो बांग्लादेश में भी नही हुआ था …यहाँ ऐसा क्यों हुआ ?
तभी – बाई ! वो एक बंगाली बाउल आता है ना …उसे मत आने दे ….वो अच्छा नही है …तेरे प्रति उसकी दृष्टि गलत है …..मैंने जब देखा तुझे वो छूने की कोशिश कर रहा था तब मैंने उसे फटकार के भगा दिया …ये सुनते ही गौर दासी कुछ सोचने लगी ….फिर भागी यमुना के किनारे ….वो समझ गयी थी …कि कुसंग ने उसकी ऐसी स्थिति बना दी है …वो रोती रही …हिलकियों से यमुना किनारे रोती रही ….रोते रोते सो गयी वहीं यमुना पुलिन में …..पर उसे पता नही चला वो यमुना में गिर गयी थी….उसे कोई अज्ञात शक्ति उठाकर किनारे में रख गया ।
रात हो गयी थी …..वो उठी और धीरे धीरे अपने निवास की ओर आगयी ।
कहाँ गयी थीं बाई ? बृजवासी लोग भी परेशान हो उठे थे ।
“यमुना किनारे” …..बस इतना बोलकर वो अपने कमरे में चली गयी ।
हिलकियों से रो उठी गौरदासी अपने मीत के सामने ….पर कुछ नही …..पता है मीत ! मैं यमुना में डूब गयी थी …हिलकियों से रोते हुए गौर दासी बता रही है …..मुझे किसी अज्ञात शक्ति ने बचाया ! “इधर उधर सोती फिरोगी तो डूबोगी”…ये शब्द जैसे ही गौर दासी ने सुने श्याम सुन्दर के मुखारविंद से ….वो स्तब्ध रह गयी …ये क्या बोल दिया था उसके मीत ने ….वो आंसुओं को पोंछकर पास गयी …बहुत पास ….और लम्बी साँस लेते हुये बोली ….मीत ! तुमसे जलने की बू आरही है ।
मैं क्यों जलूँगा ? श्याम सुन्दर भी तुनक कर बोले ……
ऐ तुम्हें क्या लगता है उस बाउल की हिम्मत है कि मुझे तुमसे छीन ले ……
मुझे नही पता ! श्याम सुन्दर झुँझला के इतना ही बोले ।
इतना चाहते हो मुझे ?
आंसुओं के साथ गौर दासी मुस्कुरा भी रही थी अब…उसे आज बहुत अच्छा लग रहा था कि उसका मीत उसे इतना चाहता है कि दूसरे को वो बर्दाश्त नही कर पा रहा ।
श्याम सुन्दर कुछ नही बोले ….तो गौर दासी उन्मत्त होकर श्याम सुन्दर के अधरों को चूमते हुए बोली …..मीत ! इतना गुस्सा भालो ना ।
श्याम सुन्दर अब मुस्कुरा रहे थे ।
शेष कल –

After reaching Sri Vrindavan, Gaura rested on the banks of the Yamuna in the night… After offering Yamuna water and Bhuja, she herself fell asleep. What does Gaura see when she wakes up in the morning… Ten big poisonous snakes are looking at Gaura with their hoods spread….When Gaura woke up, they started hissing at her….Gaura did not understand what to do? But Gaura saw that all the snakes came to the branch one by one and bowed down and went away… Then Gaura laughed and said wow! The rest of the gods had come to bow down to you, friend! I was scared.
Then Gaura took bath. It was a loving place of Vanshivat….Gaura was very happy coming here….there is a temple of Gopeshwar Mahadev in front….Gaura went there and had darshan…that was when the Bhagwat Katha took place in the nearby Gwalior temple Shri Gaurang Baba Ji. that…..he was a famous saint of Sri Vrindavan…..from outside he liked the story so much that he went inside and sat down to listen to the story….there was a pot in his hand in which his friends were sitting…it was summer… Thinking that I will not show it, she used to cover the bundle with a red cloth…Going and sitting in the story….Gaurang Baba was telling the story…His story used to be wonderful and soulful…His eyes mostly remained closed…Leela in the heart when He used to narrate this story only when he was excited.
But Gaurang Baba’s attention was drawn to Gaura in the middle of the story….she was beautiful…as soon as she sat in the story, Gaurang Baba’s eyes opened and started seeing Gaura….some people did not like this….that Baba was big They become Mahatmas, but look, as soon as this beautiful Bengali girl came, they forgot the story….. but Baba laughed and said….”Tere kasam kyun koi naay dekhiye, it is hot, remove your clothes”. On hearing this, all the audience turned back and Gaura was shocked…as soon as she removed the red cloth from the basket…she was really sweating for that picture….at the same time she lay down in front of Gaurang Baba and started praying….I Give initiation! Gaurang Baba himself was from Bengal….He spoke only in Bengali language….Have you not taken initiation yet? She said – Gurudev! Mahamantra was given to me in Gaudiya Math of Dhaka but at that time I did not receive any updesh….so I want you to bless me.
Gaurang Baba remained silent after listening to Gaura’s words…and started narrating his Bhagwat Katha further…but yes….he definitely said this much on one occasion….”Most achieve success by doing sadhna…but there are many misguided people on this earth like this. Those who get success first and have to do spiritual practice later.
Shri Gaurang Baba initiated Gaura… And her name was changed from Gaura to “Gaur Dasi”.
This area of Sri Vrindavan was very dear to Gaur Dasi….because Gopeshwar Mahadev was sitting here….Yamuna ji was near Vanshivat…Gaur Dasi took a room on rent in the house of a Brijvasi…this family is very nice Was…and also had devotion towards Gaurang Baba.
Gaur Dasi started living there….She used to feed her friends by making beautiful dishes….and simply used to do bhajan….She used to go to Yamuna bath every morning.
One day a Bengali monk of the Baul sect was fascinated by her beauty….But this naive Gaur Dasi could not understand anything…He used to recite a song in which Gaur Dasi was sexually abused by using the names of Shri Krishna and Shriradha Rani. Tried to woo What did this poor thing understand….just listening….the names of Shri Krishna and Shriradha Rani were mentioned in those songs, so she used to drown in emotion.
Now this bowl started coming regularly….The landlord understood that the poor maid is innocent but she is full of lust….Today when he came to bowl and was reciting the song….Gaur maid sat with her eyes closed She was….he was repeatedly trying to touch Gaur Dasi….but could not touch…at the same time the owner of the house Brijwasi came…when he saw, he reprimanded….and made him run away from there….all this Gaur Dasi Who does not know…. because at that time she was in the emotional world.
When she went to bathe in the Yamuna the next morning… then she found that bowl there, Gaur Dasi bowed down to it…. then she said….I am inspired that both of us stay together….this will make our sadhna better….on hearing this Gaur Dasi left from there, she did not like it. But Gaur Dasi’s Leela sprit stopped… Her friend was neither speaking nor eating anything… That picture was now just a picture.
Gaur Dasi didn’t understand anything….she used to sit with closed eyes….but there was no inspiration of Leela….she got nervous, this had not happened even in Bangladesh…why did it happen here?
Only then – lady! He doesn’t come in a Bengali bowl…don’t let him come….he is not good…his attitude towards you is wrong….when I saw he was trying to touch you, I reprimanded him and chased him away…as soon as I heard this Gaur Dasi started thinking something….then ran to the banks of Yamuna….she had understood…that Kusang had made her such a situation…she kept on crying…wept bitterly on the banks of Yamuna….fell asleep crying there in Yamuna Pulin… ..but she didn’t know that she had fallen in Yamuna….some unknown power picked her up and put her on the bank.
It was night….. she got up and slowly came towards her residence.
Where did the lady go? The residents of Brij were also worried.
“Yamuna banks”….. just saying this she went to her room.
Gourdasi started crying in front of her friend….but nothing…..you know, friend! I had drowned in the Yamuna… Gaur Dasi is telling while crying…..some unknown power saved me! “If you sleep here and there, you will drown”… as soon as Gaur Dasi heard these words from the mouthpiece of Shyam Sundar….she was shocked…what had her friend said….she went near wiping her tears…very close…. Taking a long breath she said….Meet! You smell of burning.
why would i burn Shyam Sundar also spoke loudly……
Hey do you think that bowl has the guts to snatch me from you……
I don’t know! Shyam Sundar was annoyed and said only this much.
do you want me that much? Gaur Dasi was smiling with tears now… She was feeling very good today that her friend loves her so much that she is not able to tolerate the other.
Shyam Sundar didn’t say anything…. then Gaur Dasi became frantic and kissed Shyam Sundar’s lips and said….. Meet! Don’t be so angry
Shyam Sundar was smiling now.
