श्रीहरिःघडी रात गये कुछ ग्रामीण माताएँ आयी और दो भोग-थाल निवेदन करती हुई बोली – आज़ हमारे यहाँ भगवान की पूजा और कथा हुई है । यह प्रसाद आप लोगो के लिए लायी हैं, ले लीजिये, थाल सबेरे ले जायेंगे । हमे घर जल्द पहुंचना है , रात हो गयी है । थाल रखकर यह कहती हुई वे उलटे पैर लौट गयीं । थाल न जाने किस खान के अदभुत सोनेके थे । उनपर पुरैन के पत्ते बिछे थे, जिनपर नाना प्रकार के व्यंजन चुने थे । महात्मा जी और मामा जी मन्त्र मुग्ध की तरह देखते रह गये । पीछे जब महात्मा जी ने पत्ते टालकर थाल देखे, तब हैरान रह गये । रहस्य समझ गये । जानकी जी ने ही अपनी सखियों को थाल लेकर भेजा था । सहृदय महात्मा जी ने प्रयागदत्त जी को प्रेमसे खिलाया और स्वयं भी पाया ।
उन लोकोत्तर रसास्वादमय दिव्य भोगोका सेवन करके वे दोनों महात्मा मस्त हो गये । वे सब पदार्थ भगवद्रस (ब्रह्मानंद) से सने हुए थे, स्थुलता का हरण करनेवाले थे और चेतना का संचार करनेवाले थे । तत्काल नवीन तेज, नवीन बल और नवीन चेतना से शरीर चमक उठे । मामा प्रयागदत्त जी का सारा श्रम और ग्लानि क्षणभर में कपूर की तरह उड़ गयी । हृदय कमल आनन्द-रस सरोवर मे लहराने लगा । प्रात:काल प्रयागदत्त जी को विदा करते हुए महात्मा जी दोनों स्वर्ण थाल साफी मे लपेटकर उन्हें देने लगे क्योंकि उनका कोई लेनेवाला न आया और न आनेवाला था ।परंतु प्रयागदत्त जी ने नहीं लिया, बोले कि माता नाराज होगी, कहेगी कि बहिन के घर से चीज क्यों लाये? फिर महात्मा जी उनके साथ गये और रास्तेपर पहुँचाकर जब लौटे, तब थाल ले जाकर गणेशकुण्ड मे डाल दिये ।

बहिन-बहनोई की भावना में मस्त प्रयागदत्त जी घर पहुंचे । माताने पूछा तो सब हाल कह सुनाया । पुत्रका वृत्तान्त सुनकर माता चकित रही और बहुत प्रसन्न हुई । हृदय तल से एक प्रबल, परंतु गम्भीर करुण स्त्रोत फूट निकला और आखो मे छलछला उठा । साल बीतने भी नहीं पाया कि प्रयागदत्त जी की माता साकेत धाम प्रयाण कर गयी । प्रयागदत्त जी अकेले रह गये , घर में और कोई भी नही । माताके देव पितृ-कर्म के बाद अकेला पाकर वैराग्य और अनुराग, दोनों उन्हें पूर्णतया अधिकृत करने लगे । पास के एक ग्राम के एक प्रतिष्ठित और सुसंपन्न ब्राह्मण चाहते थे कि प्रयागदत्त को जमाई बनाकर अपने घर रखें और अपना उत्तराधिकारी बनाए ।
उनके भी एकमात्र कन्या रह गयी थी । पुत्र स्वर्गगामी हो चुके थे । यद्यपि प्रयागदत्त दीन और दरिद्र थे, पर रूप, शील और कुल से सम्पन्न थे । ब्राह्मण जानता था की प्रयागदत्त जी के पूर्वपुरुषो में अनेक यशस्वी विद्वान् हुए है । उनके पिता भी सात्विक गुणों से मण्डित एक प्रतिष्ठित पण्डित थे । जनता को उनमें बडी श्रद्धा थी , बहुत लोग उनके शिष्य थे । जब ब्राह्मण मिथिला नागरी में आया तब लोगोंने कहा कि लडका अभागा है, कुलच्छनी है । पिता का भी भक्षण किया और धन-सम्पत्ति का भी । यह सब सुनकर ब्राह्मण ने प्रयागदत्त को कोरा जवाब दे दिया और लौट गया । प्रयागदत्त जी को तो संसार में कोई रस था ही नहीं , उनका मार्ग अब खुला हो गया ।
प्रयागदत्त जी ने अब अयोध्या जाने का निश्चय किया । मिथिला से सीधे अयोध्या पहुंचकर सरयू जी में स्नान किया । पहले वे मणिकूट के उसी स्थान विशेषपर सीधे पहुंचे, जहाँ उन्हें अपने सीताराम जी के दर्शन मिले थे । कुछ देर वहाँ बैठे पर उनके मिलने की ऐसी धुन उन्हे सवार थी कि विश्राम करने के लिये भी अवकाश नहीं था । कुंजो और झाड़ियो में चारो ओर उन्हें ढूंढते फिरे । ढूंढते ढूंढते पूर्वपरिचित महात्मा श्रीत्रिलोचन स्वामी की ओर निकल गये । महात्मा जी ने इम्हें पहचाना और प्रेमपूर्वक स्वागत किया । विश्राम कराया । इनको बिह्फता शान्त करनेके लिये उन्हाने अनेक भगवद् रहस्य की बातें कही, पर उससे वह और भी तीव्र हो गयी ।
धीरे-धोरे स्वामीजी ने अपने अपूर्व सत्संग के प्रभाव से उन्हें शान्त और सावधान किया । फिर कुछ भोजन कराया ।
दूसरे दिन प्रात:काल प्रयागदत्त जी श्री त्रिलोचन स्वामी जी के चरणो मे लोट गये । स्वामी जी ने उन्हे वात्सल्यपूर्वक उठाकर बैठाया । महात्मा जी मे उनकी श्रद्धा आकर्षित हो चुकी थी । स्वामी जी से उन्होने वैराग्य दीक्षा के लिये प्रार्थना की । सद्गुरु में उमड़ती हुई श्रद्धाके उसी मुहूर्त को उपयुक्त समझा और दीक्षा दे दी । लँगोटी – अँचला प्रदान किया । प्रयागदत्त जी अब प्रयागदास जी हो गये । कुछ रात गये प्रयागदास जी की दशा कुछ ऐसी चढी कि वे सोते ही उठ पड़े और वन- बीहड़ो में जहां -तहां घुमने लगे । जिधर निकल गए उधर ही निकल जाते। चल रहे हैं परंतु पता नहीं कहाँ जा रहे है , न जाने क्या-क्या देखते हैं । न जाने किससे क्या कहत हैं ।
दिन -दिन और रात-रात इसी दशा में बीत रही है, न खाने की सुध, न पीनेकौ चिन्ता, न सोने की परवा । अखण्ड योगनिद्रा और दिव्य स्वप्न । किसी ने खिला दिया तो खा लिया और पिला दिया तो पानी पी लिया । कोई-काई प्रेमी तो उन्हें अपने हाथ से भी खिला दिया करते थे और इसमे वे बडे सुख का अनुभव करते थे । परमहंस प्रयागदास जी को कभी कभी लड़के छेडा भी करते और न जाने किसने सिखला दिया था कि सब उन्हें ‘मामा-मामा’ कहने लग गये । केश बिखरे हैं, शरीरपर धूल पडी है और आँखें चढी हूई हैं । लक्ष्मी जी के भ्राता होने से आकाश में चन्द्रमा ही लडको के मामा थे, अब जानकी जी के भ्राता होने से प्रयागदास जी भूतलपर दूसरे मामा हो गए ।
प्रयागदास जी को जहाँ – तहाँ सीताराम जी अनेक लीलाएं दिखाई दिया करती । जिस लीला का दर्शन करते ,उसी का अपनी वाणी से वर्णन करते रहते । एक बार उन्हे वन यात्रा की लीला दृष्टिगोचर हुई । फिर तो वे अपने जीजा जी से नाराज हो गये और यह कहते फिरे – देखो अपने आप वन में गया और मेरी सुकुमारी बहिन को भी बन-बीहड में लेता गया । अब वे पैसै बटोरने लगे । यदि काईं पैसा देता, तो अब वे ले लेते और रखते जाते । कुछ दिनो मे जब काफी पैसे जमा हो गये, तब उन्होंने उनसे तीन जोडे जूते बनवाये-जितने बढिया वे बनवा सकते थे और तीन सुन्दर सुकोमल तोशक और इतने ही पलंग । तीनों पलंग ऐसे, एकसे छोटा एक बनवाया कि एक के पेट में एक अटक सके ।
एक के ऊपर एक करके क्रमश: तीनों पलंग रख लिये । ऊपरवाले पलंगपर तीनों तोशक बिछाये और तीनों जोडे जूते रखे । उन्हें सिरपर रखकर वे ले चले । चलते चलते मामाजी पहुंचे जाकर चित्रकूट । जहाँ जहाँ मार्ग में कुशा-कण्टक मिलते , वहाँ-वहाँ वे अपने जीजा राम जी को कोसते गये ।स्फटिक शिला के परम रम्य प्रदेश मे वे जाकर ठहरे । तीनों पलंग सुसज्जित कर दिये । फूल भी तोड़-तोडकर बिछा दिये । तीनों पलंगो के तले तीनों जोड़े जूते भी रख दिये । कुछ देर इधर-उधर देखते रहे । फिर झाडियों में घुस घुसकर खोजने लगे । कही भी कुछ आहट मिलती, कोई खडखडाहट होती, तो उधर ही वे उत्सुकता से देखने लग जाते । आखों मे अश्रु भरे ,राम की बाट शोध रहे हैं ! जब इधर-उधर कही कुछ पता नहीं चला ,तब मन्दाकिनी की ओर लौटने लगे और कहने लगे – देखो, छिप गया न, जान गया कि प्रयागदास आ गया । अच्छा छिपो ,कितनी देर छिपा रहेगा ।

Sri Hari: Some rural mothers who went to the night came and said, requesting two bhog-thal, today we have worship and story of God here. You have brought this prasad for the people, take it, the plate will be taken in the morning. We have to reach home early, it is night. Keeping the plate and saying this, she returned on the opposite foot. Don’t know which mine’s plate was of wonderful gold. Purain leaves were laid on them, on which different types of dishes were selected. Mahatma ji and Mama ji kept seeing the mantra like a charm. When Mahatma ji looked at the plate after avoiding the leaves, he was surprised. Understood the secret. Janki ji had sent her friends with a plate. A kindhearted Mahatma ji fed Prayagdutt ji with love and found himself.
Both of those Mahatmas became engrossed after consuming those transcendental tastiest divine indulgences. All those substances were imbued with Bhagavadras (Brahmananda), were destroyers of grossness and were supposed to transmit consciousness. Immediately the body shone with a new radiance, a new force and a new consciousness. All the labor and guilt of Mama Prayagdutt ji flew away like a camphor in a moment. Heart lotus started waving in the Anand-Ras Sarovar. While leaving Prayagdutt ji early in the morning, Mahatma ji wrapped both the gold plates in safi and started giving them because none of his takers came and was not going to come. Why bring something? Then Mahatma ji went with him and when he returned after reaching on the way, then he took the plate and put it in the Ganeshkund.

In the spirit of sister-in-law, Prayagdutt ji reached home. When the mother asked, she narrated everything. Hearing the story of the son, the mother was amazed and was very happy. From the bottom of the heart a mighty, but solemn source of pity erupted and a deceit rose in his eyes. Years did not even pass that Prayagdutt ji’s mother went to Saket Dham. Prayagdutt ji was left alone, no one else in the house. After finding the mother’s god alone after the ancestral karma, both dispassion and anuragya began to possess her completely. A distinguished and well-to-do Brahmin from a nearby village wanted Prayagadatta to be a Jamai and keep his house and make him his successor.
He too had only one daughter left. The son had passed away. Although Prayagdatta was poor and poor, he was full of form, modesty and family. The Brahmin knew that there were many successful scholars among Prayagdatta’s predecessors. His father was also an eminent pundit, endowed with sattvik qualities. The public had great faith in him, many people were his disciples. When the brahmin came to Mithila Nagari, people said that the boy is unfortunate, he is a Kulchchni. He also ate the father and also the wealth and property. Hearing all this, the Brahmin gave a blank answer to Prayagdatta and returned. Prayagdutt ji had no interest in the world, his path was now open.
Prayagdatta ji now decided to go to Ayodhya. After reaching Ayodhya directly from Mithila, he took bath in Saryu ji. First, he directly reached the same place in Manikoot, where he had got the darshan of his Sitaram ji. Sitting there for some time, but they were so excited to meet them that there was no leisure even to rest. Searched for them all around in the keys and bushes. While searching, the former familiar Mahatma went towards Sritrilochan Swami. Mahatma ji recognized him and welcomed him with love. Take a rest To pacify them, he said many things of the secret of God, but it became even more intense.
Gradually Swamiji calmed and alerted them with the effect of his extraordinary satsang. Then made some food. On the next morning Prayagdutt ji went to the feet of Shri Trilochan Swami ji. Swamiji took him up and made him sit lovingly. His faith in Mahatma ji was attracted. He prayed to Swamiji for dispassionate initiation. He considered the same Muhurta of reverence rising in the Sadguru as appropriate and gave initiation. Provided loincloth. Prayagdatta ji has now become Prayagdas ji. After a few nights, the condition of Prayagdas ji increased in such a way that he woke up as soon as he was sleeping and started roaming everywhere in the forest and ravines. Wherever they went, they went there. Are walking but do not know where they are going, do not know what to see. I don’t know what to say.
Day and day and night and night are passing in this condition, neither the care of eating, nor the worry of drinking, nor the concern for sleeping. Unbroken yoga nidra and divine dreams. If someone fed, ate it and gave it a drink, then drank water. Some lovers used to feed them even with their own hands and in this they used to experience great happiness. Sometimes boys used to tease Paramhans Prayagdas ji and who did not know who had taught him that everyone started calling him ‘Mama-Mama’. The hair is scattered, the body is covered with dust and the eyes are clouded. Being the brother of Lakshmi ji, the moon was the only maternal uncle of the boys in the sky, now Prayagdas ji became the second uncle on the ground because of Janaki ji’s brother.
Sitaram ji used to see many pastimes wherever Prayagdas ji was. He used to describe the Leela which he used to see in his own voice. Once he saw the Leela of the forest journey. Then he got angry with his brother-in-law and went around saying – Look, he himself went to the forest and took my sweet sister too in the wild. Now they started collecting money. If someone had given money, now they would have taken it and kept it. In a few days, when he had accumulated a lot of money, he made them three pairs of shoes – the best he could have made, and three beautiful soft towels and the same number of beds. The three beds were made in such a way that one could get stuck in one’s stomach.
Placed all the three beds one after the other. Spread all the three towels on the upper bed and keep all three pairs of shoes. Keeping them in syrup, they took them away. While walking, Mamaji reached Chitrakoot. Wherever Kusha-Kantak met on the way, he cursed his brother-in-law Ram ji. All three beds were furnished. Flowers were also plucked and spread. The three pairs of shoes were also placed under the three beds. Looked here and there for a while. Then he entered the bushes and started searching. Wherever there was some sound, if there was any rattle, then there he would start looking eagerly. Eyes full of tears, are looking for Ram! When nothing was found here and there, then he started returning to Mandakini and started saying – Look, he did not hide, he came to know that Prayagdas has come. Good hide, how long will it be hidden? —–respectively
