सच्चा सौंदर्य

दक्षिण में एक भक्त हुए उनका नाम धनुदास था। प्रारम्भ में वे हेमाम्बा नाम की वेश्या के रूप पर मुग्ध थे। भगवान में भक्ति बिल्कुल नहीं थी।

शरीर हट्टा-कट्टा था उनका। लोग उन्हें पहलवान कहते थे।

दिन बीत रहे थे। रंगजी के मंदिर में प्रतिवर्ष उत्सव हुआ करता था और वैष्णवचार्य श्री रामानुजजी महाराज मंदिर में आया करते थे। लाखों की भीड़ होती थी।

पहलवान और वेश्या के मन में भी उत्सव देखने की इच्छा हुई। कीर्तन में लोग मस्त थे, भगवान की सवारी सजाई गई।

हजारों आदमी आंनद में पागल होकर नाच रहे थे। पर पहलवानजी उस वेश्या के मुख की शोभा निहारने में मग्न थे।

तभी, श्री रामानुजाचार्यजी की दृष्टि उन पर पड़ गई। भाग्य खुल गया, श्री रामानुजाचार्यजी बोले यह कौन है ?

उनको दया आ गई, लोगों में यह बात प्रसिद्ध थी ही। सबने सारा हाल सुनाया।

श्री रामानुजाचार्यजी ने पूछा- “भैया ! लाखों आदमी भगवान के आंनद में डूब रहे है, पर तुम्हारी दृष्टि भटक रही है, ऐसा क्यों ?
.
पहलवान ने बोले, “महाराज जी, मुझे सुंदरता प्रिय है। हेम्मबा जैसी सुंदरता मैंने कहीं और नहीं देखी ! इसी लिए मेरा मन दिन-रात उसी में फंसा रहता है।
.
आचार्यजी बोले, “यदि इससे भी सुंदर वस्तु तुम्हें दिखने को मिले तो इसे छोड़ दोगे ?”
.
पहलवान बोला, “महाराजजी, इससे भी अधिक सुंदर कोई वस्तु है, यह मेरी समझ में नहीं आता।”
.
आचार्यजी बोले- अच्छा संध्या को मंदिर की आरती खत्म होने के बाद आ जाना केवल मैं रहूंगा। पहलवान भी जी, अच्छा ! कहकर चले गए।
.
श्री रामानुजाचार्यजी मंदिर में गए और भगवान से प्रार्थना की, “प्रभु ! आज एक अधम का उद्घार करो। एक बार के लिए उसे अपने त्रिभुवन मोहन रूप की एक हल्की सी झांकी तो दिखा दो।”
.
प्रभु अपने भक्त को कभी निराश नहीं करते। संध्या के समय जब पहलवान आए, तब श्री रामानुजाचार्यजी पकड़कर भीतर ले गए और श्री विग्रह की ओर दिखा कर बोले- देखो, ऐसा सौंदर्य तुमने कभी देखा है।

पहलवान ने दृष्टि डाली एक क्षण के लिए जन साधारण की दृष्टि में दिखने वाली मूर्ति, मूर्ति न रही स्वयं भगवान ही प्रकट हो गए और पहलवान उस अलौकिक सुंदरता को देखते ही बेहोश हो गया।

बहुत देर के बाद होश आया। होश आने पर श्री रामानुजाचार्यजी के चरण पकड़ लिए और बोला,“प्रभु ! अब वह रूप निरंतर देखता रहूं, ऐसी कृपा कीजिए।
.
फिर श्री रामानुजाचार्यजी ने उन्हें मंत्र दिया। आगे चलकर वह उनके बहुत प्यारे शिष्य तथा एक पहुंचे हुए महात्मा हुए। सच ही कहा है तुलसीदास जी ने-
.
‘बिनु हरिकृपा मिलहिं नहिं संता॥’

There was a devotee in the south, his name was Dhanudas. Initially he was infatuated with the form of a prostitute named Hemamba. There was no devotion in God at all. , His body was stout. People used to call him wrestler. , Days were passing by There used to be a festival every year in Rangji’s temple and Vaishnavacharya Shri Ramanujaji Maharaj used to visit the temple. There used to be a crowd of lakhs. , The wrestler and the prostitute also had a desire to see the festival. People were engrossed in kirtan, God’s ride was decorated. , Thousands of people were dancing madly in joy. But Pehelwanji was engrossed in admiring the beauty of that prostitute’s face. , Just then, Sri Ramanujacharyaji’s vision fell on him. Luck has opened, Shri Ramanujacharyaji said who is this? , He felt pity, this thing was famous among the people. Everyone narrated the whole situation. , Shri Ramanujacharyaji asked – “Brother! Lakhs of people are drowning in the bliss of God, but your vision is wandering, why so? , The wrestler said, “Maharajji, I love beauty. I have not seen beauty like Hemmaba anywhere else! That’s why my mind is stuck in it day and night. , Acharyaji said, “If you get to see something more beautiful than this, will you leave it?” , The wrestler said, “Maharajji, there is anything more beautiful than this, I do not understand it.” , Acharyaji said – Well, after the aarti of the temple is over in the evening, only I will be there. Wrestler too, okay! Said and left. , Sri Ramanujacharyaji went to the temple and prayed to the Lord, “Lord! Make an admonition today. For once show him a glimpse of your Tribhuvan Mohan Roop. , The Lord never disappoints his devotee. When the wrestlers came in the evening, Shri Ramanujacharya caught hold of him and took him inside and showing towards Shri Vigraha said – Look, have you ever seen such beauty. , The wrestler looked at the idol visible to the general public for a moment, the idol was no more, God himself appeared and the wrestler fainted on seeing that supernatural beauty. , I regained consciousness after a long time. On regaining consciousness, he held the feet of Shri Ramanujacharyaji and said, “Lord! May I continue to see that form, please bless me. , Then Sri Ramanujacharyaji gave him the mantra. Later on he became his very dear disciple and an accomplished Mahatma. Truth has been said by Tulsidas ji- , ‘Without Hari’s grace, there is no Santa.’
