उचित न्याय

बाबरका पिता उमरशेख समरकंदका राजा था। वह अपनी न्यायप्रियताके लिये बड़ा प्रसिद्ध था। एक बार चीनी यात्रियोंका एक समुदाय पूर्वसे पश्चिमकी ओर यात्रा कर रहा था। बीचमें ही प्रचण्ड हिममय झंझावातमें पड़ जानेके कारण वह दल का दल पहाड़ियोंमें ही नष्ट हो गया। उनके पास बहुत बड़ी अर्थराशि थी, जो उमरशेखशासनकी सीमाके अन्तर्गत पड़ रही थी । उमरशेखकी उन दिनों आर्थिक दशा बड़ी चिन्तनीय होरही थी, वह चाहता तो बिना किसी टंटे और श्रमके अपने यहाँ मँगवा लेता। पर उसने ऐसा नहीं किया। उसने वहाँ कठिन शासन लगाकर कड़ा पहरा बैठा दिया, ताकि उनकी असुरक्षित सम्पत्तिमेंसे कोई कुछ ले न ले। उसने उनके घरवालोंको सूचना दी और पूरे एक वर्षतक, जबतक वे लोग आकर अपनी-अपनी सम्पत्ति ले नहीं गये, तबतक उसने वहाँका पहरा नहीं हटाया ।

Babur’s father Umarshekh was the king of Samarkand. He was very famous for his justice. Once a group of Chinese travelers were traveling from east to west. Due to getting caught in a fierce snow storm in the middle, the team of that team got destroyed in the hills. He had a huge amount of money, which was falling within the limits of Umar Sheikh’s rule. In those days, the economic condition of Umarshekh was very worrying, if he wanted, he could have got it brought to his place without any trouble and labor. But he didn’t do that. He imposed strict rule there and kept a strict guard, so that no one would take anything from their unsafe property. He informed their family members and did not remove the guard there for a whole year, until they came and took away their property.
