श्रद्धा और मनोबलका चमत्कार

वे एक ग्राममें रहते थे और कुछ दवा-दारू करते। थे। परंतु जिसकी चिकित्सा करते उससे लेते कुछ नहीं थे। एक छोटी-सी दूकान और कुछ भूमि थी, उसीसे जीवन-निर्वाह होता था। कई वर्षोंसे उनकी प्रबल इच्छा काशी जानेकी थी और वे यह भी कहा करते थे कि काशीजीमें ही शरीरपात होनेसे कल्याण होगा। वे अपने मन्तव्यानुसार पूजा- पाठमें बहुत तल्लीन रहते थे।

अन्तमें, एक दिन आ ही पहुँचा जब कि काशीजी जानेकी सब सामग्री जुट गयी और अपनी धर्मपत्नी तथा पुत्रको साथ लेकर वे काशीधाम पहुँच गये। वहाँ पंचकोशीकी परिक्रमा समाप्त करके दशाश्वमेध घाटपर सायंकाल जा बैठे। गङ्गामें पाँव डालकर इस प्रकार प्रार्थना करने लगे
‘हे गङ्गा मैया ! मेरी मनोऽभिलाषा तूने पूर्ण कर दीहै। अब मैं वापस जाना नहीं चाहता। कल बारह बजेतक अपनी पावन गोदमें बिठलाकर मातृ-सुख प्रदान कर दे, अन्यथा मुझे ही प्रवाह लेना होगा।’

अपने निवासस्थानपर आकर सो रहे भोर होते ही उठ बैठे और अपनी धर्मपत्नीको भोजन बना लेनेका आदेश किया। भोजन बन चुका तो पत्नी और पुत्रको भोजन करनेकी आज्ञा देकर कहने लगे- ‘मुझे तो भोजन नहीं करना है।’ जब दोनों भोजन कर चुके तब उन्हें इस प्रकार समझाना आरम्भ कर दिया

‘देखना, यह शरीर तो अब काशीजीकी भेंट हो चुका है; अब प्राण भी यहीं विसर्जित होनेवाले हैं, इसलिये मेरे लिये कोई कर्तव्य शेष नहीं रहा। देखना ! रोना-धोना नहीं।’

और भी ऐसी ही बातें समझाने लगे। सुनकर पत्नीऔर पुत्र दोनों हँसने लगे। समझे कि पण्डितजी हँसी कर रहे हैं। फिर भी गम्भीर होकर बोल उठे ‘हम ऐसी अवाञ्छनीय बातें सुनना नहीं चाहते।’ परंतु वे कहते ही रहे। ग्यारह बजेके लगभग भूमिको शुद्ध करके आसन लगाया और ध्यानावस्थित होकर बैठ गये। ठीक बारह बजे बिना किसी कष्टके और बिना कोई चिह्न प्रकट हुए ग्रीवा एक ओर झुक गयी। देखा तो उनकास्वर्गवास हो चुका था !

इस समाचारका जिन-जिनको पता लगा, सब एकत्र होकर उनकी स्तुति करने लगे और सबने मिलकर बड़ी भक्तिसे समारोहपूर्वक अन्तिम संस्कार किया। एक ग्रामवासी साधारण व्यक्तिकी श्रद्धा-शक्ति और मनोबलका ऐसा परिचय पाकर सचमुच बड़ा आश्चर्य होता है !

He lived in a village and used to do some medicine. Were. But they didn’t take anything from the one whom they treated. There was a small shop and some land, from which life was lived. For many years, he had a strong desire to go to Kashi and he also used to say that there would be welfare if the dead body in Kashiji itself. He used to be very engrossed in worship according to his opinion.
At last, a day arrived when all the materials for going to Kashiji were gathered and he reached Kashidham with his wife and son. After completing the circumambulation of Panchkoshi there, sat at Dashashwamedh Ghat in the evening. Putting feet in the Ganges, started praying like this
‘O Mother Ganga! You have fulfilled my desire. Now I don’t want to go back. Make me sit in your holy lap till twelve o’clock tomorrow and give me mother’s happiness, otherwise I will have to take the flow.’
After coming to his residence, he got up as soon as he was sleeping and ordered his wife to prepare food. When the food was ready, after ordering the wife and son to eat, they said – ‘I don’t want to eat.’ When both had finished their meal, he started explaining to them in this way
‘Look, this body has now been gifted to Kashiji; Now my life is also going to be immersed here, so there is no duty left for me. See ! Do not cry or wash.
Others also started explaining similar things. Hearing this, both wife and son started laughing. Understood that Panditji is laughing. Still, he said seriously, ‘We do not want to hear such undesirable things.’ But he kept saying. After purifying the land around eleven o’clock, he sat down and sat down in meditation. At exactly 12 o’clock, the cervix bent to one side without any pain and without any sign appearing. Saw that he had gone to heaven!
Everyone who came to know about this news gathered together and started praising him and everyone together performed the last rites with great devotion. It is really surprising to get such an introduction to the faith-power and morale of an ordinary villager!
