Shri Gondvalekar Maharaj’s first wife had passed away. After two-four months, his mother forced him to get married again. Maharaj could not say no because of motherly devotion; But he accepted a condition from his mother that he himself would like his second wife. Even if it is on condition, but Maharaj has agreed to marry. Everyone in the house was happy with it.
Marriage talks started going on in the house. The people of the village and other villages started coming to Gondavale with their marriageable daughters for the Maharaj’s choice; But the Maharaj started putting a stamp of disapproval on all. People were worried whether Maharaj would get married or not.
Maharaj’s concern was different. He was completely intuitive. Maharaj became compassionate after knowing that a poor Brahmin named Shri Sakharam Pant Deshpande, a resident of Atpadi village, was worried day and night about the marriage of his blind daughter. He went to Atpadi and meeting the Brahmin said, ‘I am a Gosavi, you can marry your daughter to me if you want.’ The one who craves a piece of bread is as if he has got a good dish. Brahmin got his daughter married to Maharaj.
