समझदारी
किसी जंगलमें एक शेर रहता था। एक भेड़िया और एक लोमड़ी दोनों उसकी सेवामें उपस्थित रहते और उसके बचे-बचायेसे अपना पेट भर लेते थे। एक दिन शेरने शिकार मारकर भेडियेको इशारा किया- ‘तू हममें इसे बाँट दे।’
भेड़ियेने तीन बराबर भागकर प्रत्येकको उसका एक भाग दे दिया। शेरने यह समानता देखकर भेड़ियेको ऐसा तमाचा मारा कि उसका सिर अलग जा पड़ा। फिर लोमड़ीसे कहा- ‘यह गोश्त हम दोनोंमें बाँट दे।’
लोमड़ीने सबका सब शेरके आगे रख दिया। शेरने पूछा- ‘यह शिष्टाचार तूने कहाँसे सीखा ?”
लोमड़ी बोली- ‘उस भेड़ियेके मारे जानेसे।’

A lion lived in a forest. A wolf and a fox both attended his service and fed themselves with his leftovers. One day, after killing the prey, the lion indicated to the wolf – ‘You share it among us.’
The wolf divided into three equal parts and gave each a part of it. Seeing this similarity, the lion slapped the wolf in such a way that its head was severed. Then said to the fox- ‘Divide this meat between both of us.’
The fox put everything in front of the lion. The lion asked – ‘Where did you learn this etiquette from?
The fox said – ‘Because of the death of that wolf.’
