मार्गावरोध करने वालों की संख्या, उनको मिला समय, उनका व्यूह, मार्ग की उनके अनुकूल स्थिति, सब ठीक किन्तु गाण्डीवधारी की बाणवर्षा तो गगन से पाताल तक अव्याहत है। विरोधियों के भाग्य में केवल आहत होना और मरना था। उनका एक भी बाण बारात के किसी रथ की ध्वजा का स्पर्श नहीं कर सका। मृगराज यदि मृगों के यूथ में प्रविष्ट हो जाय- मृगों के श्रृंग कुछ काम आवेंगे। अर्जुन के शरों से छिन्नांग, हीनवाहन वे सब अपने मृत सैनिकों, सहायकों को छोड़कर इधर-उधर भाग गये।
द्वारिका में समाचार पहिले पहुँच चुका था। नगर सज्जित हो चुका था। वर-वधू के स्वागत के लिये उत्सुक प्रतीक्षा वहाँ चल रही थी।
द्वारिका में महारानियों में पीछे बहुत वर्षों तक चर्चा होती थी कि भाग्यशालिनी तो महारानी भद्रा जी हैं। न कोई विरोध, न कोई संघर्ष, सीधे ब्राह्म विधि से बड़ी सुगमता से इन्होंने श्रीकृष्णचन्द्र के अन्तःपुर में प्रवेश पाया।
कैकय (काकेशस) प्रदेश के नरेश धृष्टकेतु को वसुदेव जी की बहिन श्रुतिकीर्ति विवाही गयी थीं। उनके पाँच पुत्र और एक कन्या हुई। ज्येष्ठ पुत्र सन्तर्दन और कन्या भद्रा। पाँच भाईयों के पश्चात हुई बहिन। माता-पिता तथा सब भाईयों की अतिशय स्नेहभाजना।भद्रा जी को जन्म से कामरूपत्व सिद्धि प्राप्त थी। वे जब जैसा रूप धारण करने का संकल्प करतीं, वैसा ही उनका रूप तथा वस्त्र, आभरणादि भी उसी के अनुरूप हो जाते थे किन्तु यह सिद्धि उनके लिये केवल शैशव में विनोद का साधन रही। वे भाईयों को, माता-पिता को कोई रूप धारण करके भ्रम में डाल देतीं।
‘भद्रा बेटी भद्रा कहाँ गयी तू?’ माता व्याकुल होकर पुकारतीं अथवा भाई ढूँढ़ते फिरते बहिन को न पाकर। उन्हें कैसे पता लगता कि कोई दूसरी कन्या, मृगी, बिल्ली या गिलहरी बनी वहीं उनकी बहिन बैठी है। तनिक विनोद हँसती भद्रा फिर प्रकट हो जाया करती थी।
शैशव गया और कौमार्य आया तो भद्रा अत्यन्त संकोचमयी हो गयीं। उन्होंने फिर सिद्धि का उपयोग ही नहीं किया। उनके किशोरी होने से पूर्व ही पिता ने युद्ध में वीरगति पायी और बड़े भाई सन्तर्दन सिंहासनासीन हुए।जन्मसिद्धा कामरूपिणी कैकय नरेश नन्दिनी के साथ विवाह करने का प्रस्ताव कौन करे? सब समझते थे कि वे स्वयं जिसका वरण करें केवल वही उनका स्वामी हो सकता है। जो इच्छानुसार रूप धारण कर सकती हैं, उनको उनकी इच्छा के विपरीत कोई कैसे ला सकता है। कहीं से कोई भी रूप धारण करके निकल जाने से कोई उन्हें कैसे रोक सकेगा?
‘मेरी पुत्री भगवान वासुदेव की अर्धांगिनी बनेगी’ माता का स्वप्न तो तब से चल रहा है जब प्रसूतिगृह में उनको पता लगा कि उन्होंने कन्या को जन्म दिया है। वे तो इससे भी पूर्व कामना करती रहीं थीं- ‘मेरे कोई कन्या होती। वसुदेव के घर साक्षात नारायण ने अवतार ग्रहण किया है। मैं उनको कन्यादान करके उनके चरण-प्रक्षालन कर लेती’ पुत्री का जन्म सुनकर उन्हें लगा था कि उन दयाधाम नारायण ने उनकी प्रार्थना सुन ली है।
पिता नहीं रहे, यह अभाव कभी भद्रा को भाइयों ने अखरने नहीं दिया। बड़े भाई सन्तर्दन तो बहिन के लिये पिता से भी अधिक स्नेहशील हो गये थे।सन्तर्दन और उनके छोटे भाइयों की भी बचपन से अपने उन श्रीपुरुषोत्तम में दृढ़ श्रद्धा थी और जब उन वासुदेव ने कंस को मार दिया, बार-बार राजाओं के अग्रणी जरासन्ध को पराजय देना प्रारम्भ कर दिया,तब उनके प्रति भक्ति और दृढ़ हो गयी।
जन्मसिद्धा बहिन किसी सामान्य नरेश को चाहे वह कितना भी पराक्रमी क्यों न हो, नहीं दी जा सकती थी। माता और भाइयों की दृष्टि में तो भद्रा किसी देवी से कम नहीं थी। वह देवदेवेश्वर जनार्दन के अतिरिक्त दूसरे किसी को कैसे दी जा सकती थी।
भद्रा तो कौमारावस्था के प्रारम्भ से संकोचमयी हो गयी थीं। उन्होंने अपनी सिद्धि का उपयोग त्याग ही दिया था। द्वारिका में उनसे एक दिन सत्यभामा जी ने पूछा था- ‘बहिन तुम कभी लड़का बनी हो?’
‘छिः’ भद्रा ने मुँह बिगाड़ लिया- ‘बहिन आपके आराध्य के श्रीचरण मैं लड़की न होती तो मिलते मुझे? मैं तो जन्म से लड़की ही रहना चाहती हूँ और चाहती हूँ कि ये जनार्दन ही मेरा कर ग्रहण करते रहें’
भद्रा में रूक्षता, पौरुष का नाम नहीं था। वे अतिशय लज्जाशीला, संकोचमयी, छुईमुई जैसी सुकुमारी थीं। द्वारिका में भी स्वामी के अनुरोध से केवल अन्तपुर के एकादि में देव, गन्धर्व, नाग, यक्ष तथा विविध प्रदेशों की कन्याओं का रूप वे अपने स्वामी के विनोद के लिये बना लेती थीं- केवल कुमारियों का रूप। शैशव में भी भले वे बिल्ली या शशक कन्या बनी हों- नर कभी नहीं बनीं। नरत्व का संकल्प ही उनके हृदय में नहीं जगता था और कोई विवाहिता नारी का रूप बनाना तो मानसिक अधर्म था। यह बात तो सोचने की भी नहीं थी। उनके लिये।

The number of people who block the way, the time they got, their array, the condition of the road favorable to them, all are fine but the arrows of Gandivdhari are infinite from heaven to hell. Torn by the heads of Arjuna, they all fled here and there, leaving behind their dead soldiers and assistants.
The news had already reached Dwarka. The city was ready. Eager waiting was going on there to welcome the bride and groom. In Dwarka, there used to be a discussion among the queens for many years that Bhagyashalini is Queen Bhadra. Neither any opposition, nor any struggle, he got entry into the heart of Shri Krishnachandra with great ease directly through the Brahm method.
Vasudev’s sister Shrutikirti was married to Dhrishtaketu, the king of Kaikeya (Caucasus) region. He had five sons and one daughter. Eldest son Santardan and daughter Bhadra. Sister after five brothers. Extreme affection of parents and all brothers. Bhadra ji was blessed with the perfection of sexuality by birth. Whenever she resolved to take the form, her form and clothes, ornaments etc. also became according to that, but this accomplishment was only a means of humor for her in childhood. She used to mislead the brothers and parents by assuming some form.
‘Where have you gone Bhadra daughter Bhadra?’ Mother used to call out in distraught or brother did not find sister while searching. How would they know that some other girl, deer, cat or squirrel is sitting there as their sister. Bhadra used to appear again laughing for a while.
When childhood was gone and virginity came, Bhadra became extremely hesitant. He didn’t use Siddhi again. Even before she was a teenager, her father died in battle and elder brother Santardan ascended the throne. Everyone understood that the one whom they themselves choose can only be their master. How can someone bring someone who can take the form as per their wish against their wish. How can anyone stop him from leaving anywhere assuming any form?
‘My daughter will become the better half of Lord Vasudev’ The mother’s dream is going on ever since she came to know in the maternity hospital that she has given birth to a girl child. Even before this she had been wishing- ‘I would have had a daughter. Narayan has incarnated in the house of Vasudev. I would have washed her feet by donating her a daughter.’ On hearing of the birth of a daughter, she felt that Dayadham Narayan had heard her prayer.
Bhadra’s brothers never let Bhadra suffer the loss of his father. The elder brother Santardan had become more affectionate to his sister than his father. Santardan and his younger brothers also had strong faith in that Sri Purushottam from their childhood and when Vasudev killed Kansa, repeatedly Jarasandha, the leader of the kings Started defeating, then devotion towards him became more firm.
Birthright sister could not be given to an ordinary king, no matter how mighty he was. In the eyes of mother and brothers, Bhadra was no less than a goddess. How could it be given to anyone other than Devdeveshwar Janardan.
Bhadra had become hesitant from the beginning of her virginity. He had given up the use of his Siddhi. One day in Dwarka, Satyabhama ji had asked her – ‘Sister, have you ever become a boy?’
‘Chh’ Bhadra spoiled his face – ‘Sister, if I did not have a girl at the feet of your worship, would I have found it? I want to remain a girl from birth and want this Janardan to take my taxes only.
Rudeness in Bhadra, there was no name of the man. She was very shy, shy, delicate like a touchy nose. Even in Dwarka, on the request of the lord, she used to make the form of Dev, Gandharva, Nag, Yaksha and girls of different states only for the humor of her lord, in the Ekadi of Antpur – only the form of virgins. Even in childhood, she may have become a cat or a snake-girl – she never became a male. The resolution of manhood did not awaken in his heart and to make a married woman look like a mental unrighteousness. This was not even a matter to think about. For them (respectively)
