शिव और पार्वती के पुर्नमिलाप के उपलक्ष्य में मनाए जाने वाले हरियाली तीज के त्योहार के बारे में मान्यता है कि मां पार्वती ने 107 जन्म लिए थे। भगवान शंकर को पति के रूप में पाने के लिए।अतः मां पार्वती सबके पति तो को आशिर्वाद देती है।
काजली तीज कहानी
एक साहूकार था ,उसके सात बेटे थे। उसका सबसे
छोटा बेटा पांगला (पाव से अपाहिज़ ) था। वह रोजाना एक वेश्या के पास जाता था। उसकी पत्नी बहुत पतिव्रता थी। खुद उसे कंधे पर बिठा कर वेश्या के यहाँ ले जाती थी। बहुत गरीब थी। जेठानियों के पास काम करके अपना गुजारा करती थी।
भाद्रपद के महीने में कजली तीज के दिन सभी ने तीज माता के व्रत और पूजा के लिए सातु बनाये। छोटी बहु गरीब थी उसकी सास ने उसके लिए भी एक सातु का छोटा पिंडा बनाया। शाम को पूजा करके जैसे ही वो सत्तू पासने लगी उसका पति बोला मुझे वेश्या के यहाँ छोड़ कर आओ।हर दिन की तरह उस दिन भी वह पति को कंधे पैर बैठा कर छोड़ने गयी , लेकिन वो बोलना भूल गया की तू जा। वह बाहर ही उसका इंतजार करने लगी इतने में जोर से वर्षा आने लगी और बरसाती नदी में पानी बहने लगा । कुछ देर बाद नदी से आवाज आई-
“आवतारी जावतारी दोना खोल के पी।
पिव प्यारी होय आवाज़ सुनकर उसने नदी की तरफ देखा तो दूध का दोना नदी मे तैरता हुआ आता दिखाई दिया। उसने दोना उठाया और सात बार उसे पी कर दोने के चार टुकड़े किये और चारों दिशाओं में फेंक दिए।
उधर तीज माता की कृपा से उस वेश्या ने अपना सारा
धन उसके पति को वापस देकर सदा के लिए वहाँ से
चली गई। पति ने सारा धन लेकर घर आकर पत्नी
को आवाज़ दी ” दरवाज़ा खोल ” तो उसकी पत्नी ने कहा में दरवाज़ा नहीं खोलूँगी। तब उसने कहा कि अब
में वापस नहीं जाऊंगा। अपन दोनों मिलकर सातु पासेगें। लेकिन उसकी पत्नी को विश्वास नहीं हुआ, उसने कहा मुझे वचन दो वापस वेश्या के पास नहीं जाओगे। पति ने पत्नी को वचन दिया तो उसने दरवाज़ा खोला और देखा उसका पति गहनों और धन माल सहित खड़ा था। उसने सारे गहने कपड़े अपनी पत्नी को दे दिए। फिर दोनों ने बैठकर सातु पासा।
हे तीज माता ! जैसे आप उस पर प्रसन्न हुई वैसे ही
वैसी ही सब पर प्रसन्न होना ,सब के दुःख दूर करना। तीज माता की जय हो
सुबह जब जेठानी के यहाँ काम करने नहीं गयी तो बच्चे बुलाने आये काकी चलो सारा काम पड़ा है। उसने कहा अब तो मुझ पर तीज माता की पूरी कृपा है अब मै काम करने नहीं आऊंगी। बच्चो ने जाकर माँ को बताया की आज से काकी काम करने नहीं आएगी उन पर तीज माता की कृपा हुई है वह नए – नए कपडे गहने पहन कर बैठी है और काका जी भी घर पर बैठे है। सभी लोग बहुत खुश हुए।

But his wife did not believe it, she said promise me you will not go back to the prostitute. When the husband made a promise to the wife, she opened the door and saw her husband standing with the ornaments and money. He gave all the ornaments and clothes to his wife. Then both of them sat down and dice satu.
