जो तू चाहे सुख सदा

एक बार हकीम लुकमानसे उनके बेटेने पूछा ‘अगर मालिकने फरमाया कि कोई चीज माँग, तो मैं क्या माँगूँ ?’ लुकमानने जवाब दिया ‘परमार्थका धन ।’ बेटेने फिर कहा-‘अगर दूसरी चीज माँगनेको कहें तो ?’ लुकमानने कहा- ‘हलालकी कौड़ी (पसीनेकी कमाई ) माँगना ।’ उसने फिर पूछा ‘तीसरी चीज ?’ जवाब मिला- ‘उदारता’ ‘चौथी ?”
‘शरम।’

‘पाँचवीं ?’ ‘अच्छा स्वभाव । ‘
बेटेने फिर पूछा-‘ और कुछ माँगनेको कहें तो ?’ लुकमानने जवाब दिया-‘बेटा! जिसको ये पाँच चीजें मिल गयीं, उसको तो माँगनेके लिये और कुछ भी नहीं बचेगा।’ तेरी खुशहालीका यही रास्ता है और तुझे इसी रास्तेसे जाना चाहिये ।’

‘Fifth?’ ‘good nature . ,
The son again asked – ‘If I want to ask for something else?’ Lukman replied – ‘ Son! The one who has got these five things, nothing else will be left for him to ask for.’ This is the way to your happiness and you should follow this path.’
