डायमण्ड, तुमने कितना नुकसान कर दिया!
सर आइजक न्यूटन प्रसिद्ध वैज्ञानिक था। उसने एक कुत्ता पाल रखा था – ‘डायमण्ड’!
छोटा-सा प्यारा प्यारा कुत्ता। न्यूटन उसे बहुत प्यार करता था। एक रातको मेजपर जलती हुई मोमबत्ती छोड़कर न्यूटन बाहर चला गया। बाहर उसे कुछ देर लग गयी। इस बीच न जाने क्या हुआ कि कुत्ता मेजपर इस तरह झपटा कि जलती हुई मोमबत्ती मेजपर गिर गयी।
मोमबत्तीके गिरते ही मेजपर रखे तमाम कागज पत्र धधककर जल उठे। सबके सब कागज स्वाहा हो गये।
पर न्यूटनने लौटकर देखा तो वह सन्न! उसकी वर्षोंकी मेहनत खाक होकर पड़ी थी उसके सामने । न्यूटनको दुःख तो बहुत हुआ, पर उसने कुत्तेसे सिर्फ इतना कहा – ‘डायमण्ड, तू क्या जाने कि तूने मेरा कितना नुकसान कर दिया।’

और कोई होता तो गुस्सेमें आकर कुत्तेको मारता पीटता, आगमें झोंक देता। बेवकूफ लोग ऐसा करते ही हैं।
र न्यूटनने सोचा कि इसमें बेचारे कुत्तेका क्या कसूर? वह बेचारा क्या जाने कि मेजपर मेरी वर्षोंकी कमाई रखी हुई है। जलती मोमबत्तीने गिरकर अपना काम कर दिया। इसके लिये उस अज्ञानीको दण्ड देनेसे क्या फायदा?
दूसरोंकी गलतियोंको जो इस तरह शान्तिसे सहनकर लेता है, उसे कहते हैं-‘सहनशील!’
आओ, हम भी बनें न्यूटन जैसे सहनशील।
Diamond, you have done so much damage!
Sir Isaac Newton was a famous scientist. He kept a dog – ‘Diamond’!
Cute little dog. Newton loved her very much. Newton went out one night leaving a candle burning on the table. It took him a while outside. Meanwhile, don’t know what happened that the dog jumped on the table in such a way that the burning candle fell on the table.
As soon as the candle fell, all the papers kept on the table caught fire. Everyone’s papers were destroyed.
But when Newton returned, he was shocked! His hard work of years was lying in front of him. Newton was very sad, but he only said this to the dog – ‘Diamond, don’t you know how much harm you have done to me.’

If someone else would have been angry, he would have beaten the dog, thrown it into the fire. Stupid people always do this.
And Newton thought what was the fault of the poor dog in this? How could that poor man know that my years’ earnings were kept on the table. The burning candle fell down and did its job. What is the use of punishing that ignorant person for this?
The one who tolerates the mistakes of others peacefully like this is called-‘tolerant!’
Come, let us also be tolerant like Newton.
