सीख वाको दीजिये

‘सीख वाको दीजिये ,

फाल्गुनका महीना चल रहा था। ठण्डी ठण्डी हवाके साथ धीमी-धीमी बूँदें भी ठण्ड बढ़ानेमें मौसमकी सहायता कर रही थीं। महीन रिमझिम फुहारकी बूँदें तथा मन्द समीरके झोंके शान्त वातावरणको अशान्त कर रहे थे। वृक्षोंपर भी पक्षियोंकी चहल-पहल कम होती जा रही थी।
इसी समय एक वृक्षपर छोटी-सी चिड़िया अपने अण्डे-बच्चे लेकर बैठी वातावरणकी इस चहलकदमीका स्वागत कर रही थी। इसी वृक्षपर इस ‘बया’ जातिकी छोटी-सी चिड़ियाका घोंसला था। उसमें कई तरहके मकान जंगले-जैसे थे। अत: घर जैसे मंजिलोंका नक्शा बन गया था। वहीं पासमें एक बन्दर भी था, जो पानीमें भींग रहा था।
बया (चिड़िया) सूझ-बूझ और शिक्षाप्रद बातोंके कहने में अग्रणी थी, अतः कुछ देर बीतनेपर वह उस बन्दरको ठिठुरते देखकर बोली- ‘भाई! तुम्हारे आदमी- जैसे हाथ पैर हैं तथा मन, मस्तिष्क भी वैसा ही होगा। मैं छोटी-सी चिड़िया होते हुए भी कितना बढ़िया घोंसला (घास फूसका घर) बनाकर रहती हूँ, तुम भी अपने सुरक्षाहेतु घर बना सकते हो और शानसे रह सकते हो। इन चार हाथोंका अपने रक्षार्थ उपयोग करो।
यह बात सुनते ही वानरको क्रोध आया और ‘खो-खो’ करते हुए उसने बयाका घोंसला तोड़ दिया। कहीं बच्चे गिरे, तो कहीं अण्डे गिर पड़े। चीं-चीं, चीं चीं होने लगी। बच्चे वर्षा और ठण्डमें बिखर गये।
तभी वहाँ से कोई आदमी जा रहा था, जो यह
घटना देखकर कहने लगा
सीख वाको दीजिये जाको सीख सुहाय ।
सीख न दीजै वानरा घर वैया का जाय ॥
नासमझको सीख देनेसे अपना नुकसान होनेकी सम्भावना रहती है, अतः सीख भी पात्रको देखकर ही देनी चाहिये।

The month of Phalgun was going on. Along with the cold wind, slow drops were also helping the weather to increase the cold. Drops of fine drizzle and gusts of gentle breeze were disturbing the calm atmosphere. The movement of birds on the trees was also decreasing.
At the same time, a small bird was sitting on a tree with its eggs and children, welcoming this movement of the environment. There was a nest of this small bird of ‘Baya’ caste on this tree. There were many types of houses in it like jungles. Therefore, a map of storeys like a house was made. There was also a monkey nearby, who was getting wet in the water.
Baya (the bird) was the leader in saying wise and instructive things, so after some time she saw the monkey chilling and said – ‘Brother! Your man – like hands and legs and mind, brain will also be like that. Even though I am a small bird, I build such a beautiful nest (house made of straw), you too can build a house for your safety and live in peace. Use these four hands for your protection.
On hearing this, the monkey got angry and while crying ‘kho-kho’ broke the rest of the nest. Somewhere the children fell, and somewhere the eggs fell. Chi-chi, chi-chi started happening. The children scattered in the rain and cold.
Just then some man was going from there, who
started saying after seeing the incident
Give the lesson to the people, go learn the lesson.
Don’t teach, don’t let the monkey go to Vaiya’s house.
There is a possibility of harming yourself by giving a lesson to the mindless, so the lesson should also be given only after seeing the character.
