The father gave some money to his little son and sent him to the market to bring fruits. The child saw on the way, some people, whose rags are not even complete, are writhing in hunger. He gave the money to them. With that money, he bought things for his stomach at the same time. The child was very happy with this. He returned home empty-handed, blooming in his heart. Father asked – ‘ Son! Didn’t bring fruits?’ The child replied – ‘I have brought amaranth for you father!’ The father asked – ‘Which one?’ He said – ‘Father! I saw some people like myself dying of hunger, I could not help but cry. I gave all that money to him. His hunger for the whole day has gone away! When we eat fruits, our mouth becomes sweet for a moment or two; But its fruit is immortal, isn’t it father!’ Father was also very religious. He was very happy to hear the words of his son.
This child later became Saint Rangdas.
