छीन लो राजकन्या’ -राजाओं, राजकुमारों का एक बड़ा समूह क्रोध से चिल्लाया। वे अपने धनुष चढ़ाने लगे।
‘कौन हैं ये श्रृगाल’ -भीमसेन ने गदा उठायी और धनंजय ने गाण्डीव ज्या सज्ज करके चुनौती दी विरोध करने वालों को।
दारुक रथ बढ़ा लाये थे इतनी देर में। श्रीकृष्ण ने राजकन्या को उठाकर रथ में बैठा दिया और वे चतुर्भुज शारंगधन्वा बोले- ‘भाई भीमसेन! अर्जुन! दो क्षण रुको। मैं अकेला ही पर्याप्त हूँ प्रतिपक्ष के लिये।’
दारुक ने रथ हाँक दिया। श्रीकृष्णचन्द्र जब शारंग चढ़ाये बैठे हैं रथ पर- उनको सहायता की अपेक्षा और आवश्यकता कहाँ है। भीमसेन और अर्जुन ने साथ जाने का आग्रह नहीं किया।
केवल अर्जुन ने कहा- ‘इन भाग्यहीनों के साथ रहने के कारण हमें भी द्वारिकाधीश के विवाह में सम्मिलित होने के सौभाग्य से वंचित होना पड़ा।’
बड़ी निराशा की प्रतिक्रिया थी- बड़ा रोष था उन लोगों को जो धनुष उठा भी नहीं सके थे, उठाकर भी झुका नहीं सके थे या झुकाने के प्रयत्न में स्वयं दूर जा गिरे और उपहासास्पद बने थे। वे अब अपने रथों पर बैठे सैनिक लिये पथावरोध करने मार्ग में जा पहुँचे थे। उन्होंने मुख्य मार्ग को छोटे उपमार्ग से जाकर रोकने का प्रयत्न किया।
ऐसे मूर्खतापूर्ण प्रयत्न का जो परिणाम होना था, वही हुआ। बहुतों के मस्तक, कर या पैर कट गये। बहुत मारे गये और जो बचकर भागे- वे भी अत्यधिक आहत हो गये थे। शारंग से होती शर-वर्षा सुरासुर सबके लिये असह्य है, वे वेचारे तो सामान्य मानव ही थे।
महाराज वृहत्सेन ने रथों, गजों, अश्वों, सेवकों, सेविकाओं का समूह तथा रत्नालंकार, वस्त्रादि अपार दहेज द्वारिका भेज दिया। सविधि विवाह तो द्वारिका में ही सम्पन्न होना था।
श्रीकृष्ण स्वभाव से परिहास-प्रिय हैं। परिहास तो ये बड़े-बूढ़ों तक से कर लेते हैं, स्वजनों की चर्चा क्या और इनका परिहास- श्रुति, शास्त्र, संत सब कहते हैं कि श्रीहरि गर्वहारी हैं।अपनों में तो गर्व का लेश भी सहन नहीं इनको। किसी स्वजन में गर्व आया और इन्हें परिहास सूझता है।
कौन जाने यह सृष्टि इनका परिहास ही है या नहीं। इनकी महामाया- वे इनकी प्रकृति हैं, शक्ति हैं और ये परिहास-प्रिय- इनकी परिहास-प्रियता का ही दूसरा नाम माया है।
सभी श्रीकृष्ण-महिषियों को सदा यही लगता था कि ये श्रीद्वारिकाधीश उसी को सबसे अधिक मानते हैं। वह तो आपको भी लगेगा- इनके होकर देखिये। अनादिकाल से जो भी जीव इनका हुआ- उसे सदा यही लगा कि ये उसी के हैं। उसी को सर्वाधिक चाहते-मानते हैं। उसी के समीप सदा रहते हैं। अतः रानियों को यह लगता था तो कोई नवीन बात नहीं थी।
श्रीरुक्मिणी पट्टमहिषी थीं। सर्वज्येष्ठा और साक्षात रमा। उनको लगता था कि स्वामी की वे सर्वाधिक प्रेयसी हैं, यह स्वाभाविक था और वे ही कहाँ कम प्रेम करती थीं। वे सेवा में किंचित भी प्रमाद करें, यह संभव नहीं था। अब उनसे भी परिहास करने की सूझ गयी इन लीलामय को।
श्रीद्वारिकानाथ भोजन करके विश्राम करने लेट गये थे। देवी रुक्मिणी ने उनका प्रसाद ग्रहण किया और सेवा करने उपस्थित हो गयीं। सखी के हाथ से रत्नदण्ड लघु व्यंजन उन्होंने स्वयं ले लिया और वायु करने लगीं। मन्द मन्द चरण-संचालन, नूपुरों का क्वणन, कंकण एवं चूड़ियों की मधुर झंकृति- वायु करने के साथ वे किंचित पद-चालन से संगीत का वातावरण बना रही थीं, जिससे स्वामी कुछ पल विश्राम कर सकें।

Take away the princess’ – a large group of kings, princes shouted with anger. They started offering their bows.
‘Who is this Shrigal’ – Bhimsen raised the mace and Dhananjay challenged the opposers by decorating the Gandiva.
Daruk had brought the chariot in such a long time. Shri Krishna picked up the princess and made her sit in the chariot and the four-armed Sharangdhanva said – ‘Brother Bhimsen! Arjun! Wait two moments. I alone am enough for the opposition.’
Daruk drove the chariot. When Shri Krishna Chandra is sitting on the chariot with the saffron – where does he expect and need help. Bhimsen and Arjuna did not insist to go together.
Only Arjuna said- ‘Because of living with these unfortunates, we also had to be deprived of the good fortune of attending the marriage of Dwarkadhish.’
There was a reaction of great disappointment – great anger at those people who could not even lift the bow, could not bend it even after lifting it, or while trying to bend it themselves fell away and became ridiculed. They had now reached the road to barricade the soldiers sitting on their chariots. They tried to stop the main road by going through a small by-way.
The result of such a foolish attempt has happened. Many had their heads, arms or legs cut off. Many were killed and those who escaped were also badly injured. Surasur’s rain from Sharang is unbearable for everyone, those scoundrels were just normal human beings.
Maharaj Vrihatsen sent chariots, yards, horses, a group of servants, maids and gems, clothes and immense dowry to Dwarka. The marriage was to be solemnized in Dwarka itself.
Shri Krishna is funny by nature. They make fun of even the elders, what to talk about their relatives and make fun of them – Shruti, Shastras, Saints all say that Shri Hari is proud. He cannot tolerate even a trace of pride in his own people. There is pride in a relative and he understands the joke.
Who knows whether this world is their joke or not. Their Mahamaya – She is their nature, power and they are fond of jokes – Maya is another name for their love of jokes.
All Shri Krishna-Mahishis always felt that this Sridwarikadhish considers him the most. You will also feel that – see through them. From time immemorial whatever creature belonged to him always felt that he belonged to him. He is loved and adored the most. Always stay close to him. So the queens used to think that it was not a new thing.
Sri Rukmini was Pattamahishi. Sarvajyeshtha and Sakshat Rama. She felt that she was the most beloved of Swami, it was natural and she loved less. It was not possible for them to be a little careless in service. Now these auctioneers have thought of making fun of them too.
Sridwarikanath lay down to rest after having his meal. Goddess Rukmini accepted his prasad and appeared to serve. She herself took the Ratnadanda miniature dish from the hand of her friend and started blowing air. She was creating an atmosphere of music with a little foot-step, slow-moving movements, grinding of pearls, melodious tinkling of bangles and kankans, so that Swami could rest for a while.
