हे केशव जो व्यक्ति मन को जल्दी वश में न कर सके,वह कैसे सिद्धि प्राप्त कर सकता है वह मुझे बताइये।
श्रीकृष्ण कहते है-कि- उद्धव,अर्जुन ने भी मुझसे यही पूछा था। मन को अभ्यास और वैराग्य से वश में किया जा सकता है किन्तु सरल मार्ग तो है मेरी(ईश्वर) भक्ति।
भक्तजन अनायास ही ज्ञानी,बुद्धिमान,विवेकी और चतुर हो जाता है और अंत में मुझे(ईश्वर) को प्राप्त करता है।
भक्ति स्वतन्त्र है। उसे किसी क्रियाकांड आदि का सहारा नहीं लेना पड़ता। वह सबको अपने अधीन कर लेती है। ज्ञानी और कर्मयोगी को भी इस भक्ति-उपासना की आवश्यकता रहती है।
उन दोनों (ज्ञान और कर्म) में भक्ति का मिश्रण हो ,तभी वे मुक्तिदायी बन सकते है।
जो मनुष्य सब कर्मों का त्याग करके अपनी आत्मा मुझे समर्पित कर देता है,
तब उसे सर्वोत्कृष्ट बनाने की मुझे इच्छा होती है। फिर वे मेरे साथ एक बनने के योग्य होते है और मोक्ष पाते है। यहाँ भगवान ने बहुत सुन्दर कहा कि दूसरों को सुधारने की अपेक्षा मनुष्य स्वयं सदमार्ग पर चलना चाहिए।
उद्धव,तू औरों की निंदा मत करना। जगत को सुधारने का व्यर्थ प्रयत्न भी न करना। अपने आप को ही सुधारना। जगत को प्रसन्न करना कठिन है पर परमात्मा को प्रसन्न करना कठिन नहीं है। परमात्मा केवल श्रद्धा और प्रेम के भूखे है।
हे उद्धव,मै तुम्हारा धन नहीं,मन माँगता हूँ। मन देने योग्य तो केवल मै (परमात्मा) ही हूँ। मै तुम्हारे मन की बड़ी लगन से रक्षा करूँगा। मै सर्वव्यापी हूँ। तुम मेरी ही शरण लो।
उद्धव,मैंने तुम्हे समग्र ब्रह्मज्ञान का दान दिया है। इस ब्रह्मज्ञान के ज्ञाताको मै अपना सर्वस्व देता हूँ।
अब तो तुम्हारा मोह,शोक आदि दूर हो गए न?
उद्धव ने भगवान को प्रणाम किया और कहा – अब मै कुछ भी सुनना नहीं चाहता।
जितना सुना है उस पर मनन करना चाहता हूँ।
O Keshav, tell me how a person who cannot quickly control his mind can achieve success. Shri Krishna says that- Uddhav, Arjun also asked me the same. The mind can be controlled through practice and renunciation, but the easiest way is devotion to Me (God). The devotee spontaneously becomes knowledgeable, intelligent, wise and clever and ultimately attains Me (God). Devotion is free. He does not have to resort to any ritual etc. She brings everyone under her control. A knowledgeable person and a karmayogi also need this devotion and worship. There is a mixture of devotion in both of them (knowledge and action), only then can they become liberating. The man who gives up all his deeds and surrenders his soul to me, Then I feel like making it the best. Then they are able to become one with me and attain salvation. Here God said very beautifully that instead of correcting others, man himself should follow the right path. Uddhav, don’t criticize others. Don’t even make futile efforts to improve the world. To improve oneself. It is difficult to please the world but it is not difficult to please God. God is hungry only for faith and love. O Uddhav, I do not ask for your money, I ask for your mind. Only I (God) am worthy of giving the mind. I will protect your heart with great devotion. I am omnipresent. You take refuge in me only. Uddhav, I have gifted you complete knowledge of Brahma. I give my everything to the knower of this divine knowledge. Now your attachment, grief etc. have gone away, right? Uddhav bowed to God and said – Now I do not want to hear anything. I want to reflect on what I have heard.
