. “व्यास–गुरु पूर्णिमा” महर्षि वेदव्यास जी अमर हैं। महान विभूति वेदव्यास का जन्म आषाढ़ पूर्णिमा को लगभग 3000 ई. पूर्व में हुआ था। महर्षि व्यास का पूरा नाम कृष्णद्वैपायन है। उन्होंने वेदों का विभाग किया, इसलिए उनको व्यास या वेदव्यास कहा जाता है। उनके पिता महर्षि पराशर तथा माता सत्यवती है। भारत भर में गुरुपूर्णिमा के दिन गुरुदेव की पूजा के साथ महर्षि व्यास की पूजा भी की जाती है। महर्षि वेदव्यास भगवान विष्णु के कालावतार माने गए हैं। द्वापर युग के अंतिम भाग में व्यासजी प्रकट हुए थे। उन्होंने अपनी सर्वज्ञ दृष्टि से समझ लिया कि कलियुग में मनुष्यों की शारीरिक शक्ति और बुद्धि शक्ति बहुत घट जाएगी। इसलिए कलियुग के मनुष्यों को सभी वेदों का अध्ययन करना और उनको समझ लेना संभव नहीं रहेगा। व्यासजी ने यह जानकर वेदों के चार विभाग कर दिए। जो लोग वेदों को पढ़, समझ नहीं सकते, उनके लिए महाभारत की रचना की। महाभारत में वेदों का सभी ज्ञान आ गया है। धर्मशास्त्र, नीतिशास्त्र, उपासना और ज्ञान-विज्ञान की सभी बातें महाभारत में बड़े सरल ढंग से समझाई गई हैं। इसके अतिरिक्त पुराणों की अधिकांश कथाओं द्वारा हमारे देश, समाज तथा धर्म का पूरा इतिहास महाभारत में आया है। महाभारत की कथाएं बड़ी रोचक और उपदेशप्रद हैं। सब प्रकार की रुचि रखने वाले लोग भगवान की उपासना में लगें और इस प्रकार सभी मनुष्यों का कल्याण हो। इसी भाव से व्यासजी ने अठारह पुराणों की रचना की। इन पुराणों में भगवान के सुंदर चरित्र व्यक्त किए गए हैं। भगवान के भक्त, धर्मात्मा लोगों की कथाएं पुराणों में सम्मिलित हैं। इसके साथ-साथ व्रत-उपवास को की विधि, तीर्थों का माहात्म्य आदि लाभदायक उपदेशों से पुराण परिपूर्ण है। वेदांत दर्शन के रचना करने वाले महर्षि वेदव्यास ने वेदांत दर्शन को छोटे-छोटे सूत्रों में लिखा गया है, लेकिन गंभीर सूत्रों के कारण ही उनका अर्थ समझने के लिए बड़े-बड़े ग्रंथ लिखे हैं। धार्मिक मान्यता के अनुसार ही गुरुपूर्णिमा पर गुरुदेव की पूजा के साथ ही महर्षि व्यास की पूजा भी की जाती है। हिन्दू धर्म के सभी भागों को व्यासजी ने पुराणों में भली-भांति समझाया है। महर्षि व्यास सभी हिन्दुओं के परम पुरुष हैं। ----------:::×:::----------
, ′′ Vyas-Guru Purnima ′′ Maharishi Vedvyas ji is immortal. The great Vibhuti Ved Vyas was born on Ashadh Purnima around 3000 AD. The full name of Maharishi Vyasa is Krishnadwaipayan. He divided the Vedas, hence he is called Vyas or Vedvyas. His father is Maharishi Parashar and mother is Satyavati. Maharishi Vyas is also worshiped along with the worship of Gurudev on the day of Gurupurnima across India. Maharishi Ved Vyas has been considered as Kalavatar of Lord Vishnu. Vyasji appeared in the last part of Dwapar Yuga. He understood with his omniscient vision that the physical strength and intellectual power of humans would decrease a lot in Kaliyuga. That’s why it will not be possible for the people of Kaliyuga to study and understand all the Vedas. Knowing this, Vyasji divided the Vedas into four divisions. For those who cannot read and understand the Vedas, he wrote the Mahabharata. All the knowledge of the Vedas has come in the Mahabharata. All the things of theology, ethics, worship and knowledge-science have been explained in Mahabharata in a very simple way. Apart from this, the whole history of our country, society and religion has come in Mahabharata through most of the stories of Puranas. The stories of Mahabharata are very interesting and instructive. Let all interested people engage in the worship of the Lord and thus all human beings will be well. In this sense, Vyasji composed eighteen Puranas. The beautiful characters of God are expressed in these Puranas. The stories of God’s devotees, pious people are included in the Puranas. Along with this, the Puranas are full of beneficial teachings about the method of fasting, the greatness of pilgrimages etc. Maharishi Vedvyas, the creator of Vedanta Darshan, has written Vedanta Darshan in small sutras, but due to serious sutras, he has written big books to understand their meaning. According to religious beliefs, along with the worship of Gurudev, Maharishi Vyas is also worshiped on Gurupurnima. Vyasji has explained all the parts of Hindu religion very well in the Puranas.
