आप सभी बंधुजनो, माताओं और बहनों सभी को माता सीता और प्रभु श्रीराम की परिणय वर्षगांठ विवाह पंचमी की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं।
मार्गशीर्ष (अगहन) मास की शुक्ल पक्ष की पंचमी को भगवान श्रीराम तथा जनकपुत्री जानकी (सीता) का विवाह हुआ था, तभी से इस पंचमी को ‘विवाह पंचमी पर्व’ के रूप में मनाया जाता है।
प्रभु श्री राम ने मां जानकी के साथ विवाह रचाकर विवाह संस्कार के महत्व को जन मानस के सामने रखा है। तुलसीदासजी लिखते हैं, प्रभु श्रीराम जी ने विवाह द्वारा मन के तीनों विकारों काम, क्रोध और लोभ से उत्पन्ना समस्याओं का समाधान प्रस्तुत किया है। एक तरह से प्रभु श्रीराम ने बताया कि विवाह किस तरह जीवन में व्यवस्था लाता है और उसमें हमारे कर्तव्य क्या होते हैं। हर स्त्री अपने पति में प्रभु राम समान गुणों की इच्छा रखती है और हर पुरुष मां सीता जैसी पत्नी का आकांक्षा रखता है।
गोस्वामी तुलसीदास जी ने रामचरित मानस में प्रभु श्री राम और माता सीता के विवाह का व्याख्यान करते हुए लिखा है।
कुअँरु कुअँरि कल भावँरि देहीं। नयन लाभु सब सादर लेहीं॥
जाइ न बरनि मनोहर जोरी। जो उपमा कछु कहौं सो थोरी॥
भावार्थ:-वर और कन्या सुंदर भाँवरें दे रहे हैं। सब लोग आदरपूर्वक (उन्हें देखकर) नेत्रों का परम लाभ ले रहे हैं। मनोहर जोड़ी का वर्णन नहीं हो सकता, जो कुछ उपमा कहूँ वही थोड़ी होगी॥
राम सीय सुंदर प्रतिछाहीं। जगमगात मनि खंभन माहीं
मनहुँ मदन रति धरि बहु रूपा। देखत राम बिआहु अनूपा ।
भावार्थ:-श्री रामजी और श्री सीताजी की सुंदर परछाहीं मणियों के खम्भों में जगमगा रही हैं, मानो कामदेव और रति बहुत से रूप धारण करके श्री रामजी के अनुपम विवाह को देख रहे हैं॥
दरस लालसा सकुच न थोरी। प्रगटत दुरत बहोरि बहोरी॥
भए मगन सब देखनिहारे। जनक समान अपान बिसारे॥
भावार्थ:- उन्हें (कामदेव और रति को) दर्शन की लालसा और संकोच दोनों ही कम नहीं हैं (अर्थात बहुत हैं), इसीलिए वे मानो बार-बार प्रकट होते और छिपते हैं। सब देखने वाले आनंदमग्न हो गए और जनकजी की भाँति सभी अपनी सुध भूल गए॥

Lord Shri Ram and Janaki’s daughter Janaki (Sita) got married on Panchami of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha (Agahan) month, since then this Panchami is celebrated as ‘Vivah Panchami festival’.
Prabhu Shri Ram has put the importance of marriage rituals in front of the public mind by getting married with mother Janaki. Tulsidasji writes, Prabhu Shriram ji has presented a solution to the problems arising out of all the three disorders of the mind, lust, anger and greed through marriage. In a way, Lord Shriram told how marriage brings order in life and what are our duties in it. Every woman desires Lord Rama-like qualities in her husband and every man aspires for a wife like Mother Sita.
Goswami Tulsidas ji has written in Ramcharit Manas explaining the marriage of Lord Shri Ram and Mother Sita.
Kuanru Kuari Kal Bhavanri Dehin. Nayan labhu sab sadar lehin॥ Jai na barni manohar jori. Whatever analogy I may say, it is little.
Meaning :- The bride and groom are giving beautiful whirlpools. Everyone is taking the ultimate benefit of the eyes with respect (seeing him). The beautiful pair cannot be described, whatever simile I say, it will be little.
Ram Siya beautiful reflection. In the shining mani pillars Manhun Madan Rati Dhari Bahu Rupa. Dekhat Ram Biahu Anoopa.
Meaning :- The beautiful shadows of Shri Ramji and Shri Sitaji are shining in the pillars of gems, as if Kamdev and Rati are watching the unique marriage of Shri Ramji by taking many forms.
Daras lassa sakuch na thori. It is revealed far away, Bahori Bahori. Everyone is happy to see. Apan Bisare like Janak ॥
Meaning :- They (Kamdev and Rati) have no less longing and hesitation to see (i.e. are many), that is why they seem to appear and hide again and again. All the onlookers became ecstatic and like Janakji, everyone forgot their thoughts.
