नर सेवा ही नारायण सेवा

महाभारत का युद्ध चल रहा है,और महाराज युधिष्ठिर ईश्वर उपासना का समय है, यह कहकर कहीं अज्ञात स्थान की ओर जाते हैं! यह आश्चर्य और उत्कंठा जब सीमा लांघ गई, तो एक दिन,चारों पांडव पुत्रों ने युधिस्टर का चुपचाप पीछा किया, कि आखिर ये ईश्वर उपासना के लिए कहां जाते हैं, क्या करते हैं ।

आगे धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर, हाथों में कुछ वस्तुएं लेकर द्रुतगति से बढ़े जा रहे हैं । पीछे चारों भाई अपने को छुपाते हुए । युद्ध स्थल में पहुंचकर, युधिस्टर ढूंढ ढूंढ कर घायलों की सेवा सुश्रुषा, उन्हें अन्न, पानी, मरहम इत्यादि की व्यवस्था कर रहे हैं। मन की व्यथा पूछ रहे हैं। जिसमें दोनों पक्ष के सैनिक शामिल थे।

जब रात्रि का तीसरा पहर आया तो वापस हुए। देखा चारों भाई सामने खड़े हैं! भीम ने कहा – ज्येष्ठ! आप दुश्मनों के सैनिकों की भी सेवा कर रहे हैं यह पाप नहीं है?

नहीं भीम! मनुष्य आखिर आत्मा ही है, और आत्मा का आत्मा से कैसा बैर!

लेकिन आप इस प्रकार छुपकर क्यों आते हैं?अर्जुन ने पूछा…

वो इसीलिए,कि कौरव सैनिक हमसे द्वेष रखते हैं, यदि वह मुझे पहचान जाते, तो अपने मन की बात, अपने घर की चिंता, परिजनों का मोह, संभवतः मुझसे व्यक्त न कर पाते। और मैं इस सेवा से वंचित रह जाता।

लेकिन तात! ईश्वर उपासना का बहाना बनाकर यहां आना यह झूठ नहीं? नकुल बोले।
ईश्वर उपासना केवल भजन पूजन से ही नहीं होती, कर्म से भी होती है। ईश्वर ने हमें दीन दुखियों, लाचार, असहायों, की सेवा के लिए ही तो भेजा है । और वही करके मैं ईश्वर उपासना ही तो कर रहा हूं।

चारों पांडव युधिस्टर के चरणों पर गिरकर बोले- ‘तात ! अब हम समझ गए, कि हमारी जीत का कारण सैन्यशक्ति नहीं, वरन आपकी धर्म परायणता ही है, जो अपने और पराए में भेद नहीं करती।’

सच ही कहा है भगवान कृष्ण ने कि,
“नर सेवा ही नारायण सेवा है

The war of Mahabharata is going on, and Maharaj Yudhishthir goes towards some unknown place, saying that it is the time to worship God. When this wonder and curiosity crossed the limits, one day, the four Pandava sons silently followed Yudhishtra, asking where he goes to worship God and what he does.

Dharmaraj Yudhishthir is moving forward at a fast pace with some things in his hands. All four brothers hiding themselves behind. Reaching the battlefield, Yudhishtra searches for the injured and provides them with food, water, ointment etc. Asking about the pain of the heart. In which soldiers from both sides were involved.

When the third quarter of the night came, we returned. See, all four brothers are standing in front! Bhima said – Jyestha! You are also serving the enemy soldiers, isn’t it a sin?

No Bheem! After all, man is a soul, and what kind of hatred does the soul have for the soul?

But why do you come secretly like this? Arjun asked…

That is because the Kaurava soldiers have hatred towards us, if they had recognized me, they would not have been able to express their feelings, worries about their home, attachment to their family members to me. And I would have been deprived of this service.

But Tat! Coming here under the pretext of worshiping God is not a lie? Nakul said. Worship of God is not only done through hymns and worship, but also through actions. God has sent us only to serve the poor, the destitute and the helpless. And by doing the same I am worshiping God.

The four Pandavas fell at the feet of Yudhishtra and said – ‘Tat! Now we understand that the reason for our victory is not military power, but your religious devotion, which does not differentiate between our own and others.

Lord Krishna has rightly said that, “Service to man is service to Narayan”
