परीक्षित ! पापी पुरुष की जैसी शुध्दि भगवान् को आत्मसमर्पण करने से और उनके भक्तों का सेवन करने से होती है, वैसी तपस्या आदि के द्वारा नहीं होती ||१६|| जगत में यह भक्ति का पंथ ही सर्वश्रेष्ठ, भयरहित और कल्याणस्वरूप है, क्योंकि इस मार्ग पर भगवत्परायण, सुशील साधुजन चलते हैं ||१७|| परीक्षित ! जैसे शराब से भरे घड़े को नदियाँ पवित्र नहीं कर सकती, वैसे ही बड़े-बड़े प्रायश्चित बार-बार किये जाने पर भी भगवद्विमुख मनुष्य को पवित्र करने में असमर्थ हैं ||१८|| जिन्होने अपने भगवदगुणानुरागी मन-मधुकर को भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण के चरणारविन्द-मकरन्द का एक बार पान करा दिया, उन्होंने सारे प्रायश्चित कर लिये | वे स्वप्न में भी यमराज और उनके पाशधारी दूतों को नहीं देखते | फिर नरक की तो बात ही क्या है ||१९||
परीक्षित ! इस विषय में महात्मा लोग एक प्राचीन इतिहास कहा करते हैं | उसमे भगवान् विष्णु और यमराज के दूतों का संवाद है | तुम मुझसे उसे सुनो ||२०|| कान्यकुब्ज नगर (कन्नौज) – में एक दासीपति ब्राह्मण रहता था | उसका नाम था अजामिल | दासी के संसर्ग से दूषित होने के कारण उसका सदाचार नष्ट हो चुका था ||२१|| वह पतित कभी बटोहियों को बाँधकर उन्हें लूट लेता, कभी लोगों को जुए के छल से हरा देता, किसी का धन धोखा-धड़ी से ले लेता तो किसी का चुरा लेता | इस प्रकार अत्यन्त निन्दनीय वृति का आश्रय लेकर वह अपने कुटुम्ब का पेट भरता था और दूसरे प्राणियों को बहुत ही सताता था ||२२|| परीक्षित ! इसी प्रकार वह वहाँ रहकर दासी के बच्चों का लालन-पालन करता रहा | इस प्रकार उसकी आयु का बड़ा भाग-अट्ठासी वर्ष बीत गया ||२३|| बूढ़े अजामिल के दस पुत्र थे | उनमे सबसे छोटे का नाम था ‘नारायण’ | माँ-बाप उससे बहुत प्यार करते थे ||२४|| वृध्द अजामिल ने अत्यन्त मोह के कारण अपना सम्पूर्ण ह्रदय अपने बच्चे नारायण को सौंप दिया था | वह अपने बच्चे की तोतली बोली सुन-सुनकर तथा बालसुलभ खेल देख-देखकर फूला नहीं समाता था ||२५|| अजामिल बालक के स्नेह-बन्धन में बंध गया था | जब वह खाता तब उसे भी खिलाता, जब पानी पीता तो उसे भी पिलाता | इस प्रकार वह अतिशय मूढ़ हो गया था, उसे इस बात का पता ही नहीं चला कि मृत्यु मेरे सिर पर आ पहुँची है ||२६||

Just as rivers cannot purify a pot full of wine, similarly great atonements are incapable of purifying a man who is devoid of God, even after repeated atonements. Those who once made their God-loving mind-madhukar drink at the feet of Lord Shri Krishna’s Charanravind-Makarand, they made all the atonement. They do not see Yamraj and his pastoral messengers even in dreams. Then what is the matter of hell?|19|| Tested! In this subject the Mahatmas say an ancient history. There is a dialogue between the messengers of Lord Vishnu and Yamraj. You hear him from me ||20|| Kanyakubja Nagar (Kannauj) – A maidservant Brahmin lived. His name was Ajamil. Due to the contamination of the maid’s contact, her virtue was destroyed ||21|| Sometimes the fallen would have tied up the bookies and robbed them, sometimes defeated the people by gambling deceit, took someone’s money by fraud and stole someone’s. In this way, taking shelter of the most reprehensible attitude, he used to feed his family and used to harass other living beings very much ||22|| Tested! Similarly, staying there, he continued to take care of the maid’s children. Thus a great part of his age – eighty-eight years passed ||23|| Old Ajamil had ten sons. The name of the youngest among them was ‘Narayan’. Parents loved him very much ||24|| Old Ajamila had given his whole heart to his child Narayan due to great attachment. He could not swell after listening to his child’s parrot talk and watching child-friendly games ||25|| Ajamil was bound by the child’s bond of affection. When he ate, he would feed him, when he drank water, he would also feed him. In this way he was so foolish, he did not realize that death had come upon my head.||26|| rest in upcoming posts.
