विष्णुदूतों द्वारा भागवतधर्म – निरूपण और
अजामिल का परमधाम गमन
बड़े-बड़े ब्रह्मवादी ऋषियों ने पापों के बहुत-से प्रायश्चित-कृच्छ्रचान्द्रायण आदि व्रत बतलाये हैं; परन्तु उन प्रायश्चितों से पापी की वैसी जद से शुध्दि नहीं होती, जैसे भगवान् के नामों का, उनसे गुम्फित पदों का उच्चारण करने से होती है | क्योंकि वे नाम पवित्रकीर्ति भगवान् के गुणों का ज्ञान कराने वाले हैं ||११|| यदि प्रायश्चित करने के बाद भी मन फिर से कुमार्ग में – पाप की ओर दौड़े, तो वह चरम सीमा का-पूरा-पूरा प्रायश्चित नहीं है | इसलिये जो लोग ऐसा प्रायश्चित करना चाहें जिससे पाप कर्मों और वासनाओं की जड ही उखड़ जाय, उन्हें भगवान् के गुणों का ही गान करना चाहिये; क्योंकि उससे चित सर्वथा शुध्द हो जाता है ||१२||
इसलिये यमदूतो ! तुम लोग अजामिल को मत ले जाओ | इसने सारे पापों का प्रायश्चित कर लिया है; क्योंकि इसने मरते समय भगवान् के नाम का उच्चारण किया है ||१३||
बड़े-बड़े महात्मा पुरुष यह बात जानते हैं कि संकेत में, परिहास में, तान अलापने में अथवा किसी की अवहेलना करने में भी यदि कोई भगवान् के नामों का उच्चारण करता है तो उसके सारे पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं ||१४|| जो मनुष्य गिरते समय, पैर फिसलते समय, अंग भंग होते समय और साँप के डंसते, आग में जलते तथा चोट लगते समय भी विवशता से कर लेता है, वह यमयातना का पात्र नहीं रह जाता ||१५|| महर्षियों ने जानबूझकर बड़े पापों के लिये बड़े और छोटे पापों के लिये छोटे प्रायश्चित बतलाये हैं ||१६|| इसमें सन्देह नहीं कि उन तपस्या, दान, जप आदि प्रायश्चितों के द्वारा वे पाप नष्ट हो जाते हैं | परन्तु उन पापों से मलिन हुआ उसका ह्रदय शुध्द नहीं होता | भगवान् के चरणों की सेवा से वह भी शुध्द हो जाता है ||१७|

Bhagavata Dharma – Representation and Ajamil’s departure to the supreme abode Many great Brahmavadi sages have told about many atonement for sins – Krichrachandrayan etc. But those atonements do not purify the sinner as much as by reciting the names of the Lord, verses attached to Him. Because those names of holy kirti are the ones who give knowledge of the qualities of the Lord ||11|| If even after atonement, the mind again runs in the wrong way towards sin, then that is not a complete atonement of the extreme. Therefore those who wish to make such atonement so that the root of sinful deeds and desires is uprooted, they should sing the praises of the Lord; Because by that the mind becomes completely pure ||12|| That’s why eunuchs! You guys don’t take Ajamil. He has made atonement for all sins; Because it has uttered the name of the Lord at the time of death ||13|| Great men of great men know this that if one chants the names of the Lord in gestures, sarcasm, taunts or even in defiance of others, then all his sins are destroyed ||14|| A person who compulsively does it while falling, slipping his feet, breaking limbs and being bitten by snakes, burning in fire and getting hurt, is no longer eligible for sacrifice ||15|| Maharishis have deliberately told small atonements for big sins and small atonements for small sins ||16|| There is no doubt that those sins are destroyed by those penances, charity, chanting etc. But his heart, tainted by those sins, is not pure.
