It was about a hundred years back. Saurashtra’s famous Vaishnava poet Abhinav Narsi Mehta-Dayaram Bhai made himself immortal by writing a Saras song on Shri Krishna Leela. His whole life was dedicated at the feet of Ras-Rasik Nandanandan. He used to do all the work for them. Used to eat, drink and wear clothes for their happiness. He used to go to the temple wearing the most expensive clothes to have darshan of his deity.
One day they were going somewhere well dressed. His body was very beautiful and his face was radiant. He was wearing an Ahmedabadi dhoti with green border, the bandi was of thin muslin, the tunic was very beautiful; on the head was a red colored Nagari turban. He was going away with his sitar pressed next to him that some friend had teased him. Gave that ‘Where are you going? There is no program to meet anyone, is it?
Brother Dayaram was thrilled by the question of his friend. Tears of love started falling from the eyes. Somewhat self-absorbed, they stood like a root. till late
“Brother! Who is more important to me than Shri Krishna. Is there anything else in the world greater than His beauty and sweetness? You have asked such a beautiful thing. I got your darshan by great luck. At this time I am going to meet my supremely beloved Shri Krishna.” Dayaram Bhai expressed his gratitude to his friend and left.
