बात शाहजहाँके शासनकालकी है। स्यालकोटके एक छोटे मदरसेमें बालक हकीकतराय पढ़ता था । एक दिन मौलवी साहब कहीं बाहर चले गये। अवसर पाकर बालक खेलने लगे। मुसलमान लड़के स्वभावसे हकीकतरायको छेड़ते रहते थे। उन सबने उस दिन भी हकीकतरायको तंग करना प्रारम्भ किया, उसे गालियाँ दीं और फिर हिंदुओंके देवी-देवताओंको गालियाँ देनी प्रारम्भ कीं ।
जब हकीकतरायसे नहीं सहा गया, तब उसने कहा ‘अगर तुम्हारे पैगम्बरको भी यही बातें कही जायँ तो ?” मुसलमान लड़कोंने गुस्सेसे कहा- ‘तुम इतनी हिम्मत कर सकते हो? जरा कहकर तो देखो।’
बालक हकीकतरायने वे ही शब्द दुहरा दिये। लेकिन वहाँ तो मुसलमान लड़कोंकी यह दशा हो गयी मानो प्रलय हो गया हो। उन्होंने बातका बतंगड़ बना लिया। मौलवी साहबके पास सब दौड़े गये और नमक-मिर्च लगाकर सब बातें कहीं।
हकीकतरायको झूठ नहीं बोलना था। फल यह हुआ कि मौलवी साहबने मामला उस स्थानके हाकिमकी अदालत में पहुँचा दिया। हकीकतराय गिरफ्तार करलिया गया। नन्हे बालकके हाथ-पैर हथकड़ी-बड़ीसे | जकड़कर उसे अदालतमें खड़ा किया गया। ‘अगर तू मुसलमान बन जाय तो मरनेसे बच ।
सकता है।’ काजीने बालकके सामने यह प्रस्ताव रखा।
बालक हकीकतरायके माता-पिता रो रहे थे। उसकी बालिका पत्नी मूच्छित हो गयी थी। माता तो कह रही थी — ‘बेटा! तू काजीकी बात मान ले। तू मुसलमान होकर भी जीता रहेगा तो हम तुझे देख तो सकेंगे।’ काजीने प्रलोभन दिया—’मुसलमान होनेपर तुम्हें ऊँचा ओहदा दिया जायगा।’
हकीकतराय बालक था, किंतु उसका चित्त धर्मवीरतासे पूर्ण था। उसने मातासे कहा- -‘माँ! मैं अमर होकर तो उत्पन्न नहीं हुआ हूँ। जब एक दिन मरना ही है तो अपना धर्म छोड़कर थोड़े जीवनके लिये पतित क्यों बनूँ। धर्मभ्रष्ट होकर जीनेसे तो मरना बहुत उत्तम है।’
‘मैं अपना धर्म नहीं छोड़ सकता।’ काजीको उ बालकने स्पष्ट सुना दिया। खुले मैदानमें जल्लादकी तलवारने उस बालकका सिर धड़से अलग कर दिया।

It is about the reign of Shah Jahan. The boy used to study Hakikatrai in a small madrasa in Sialkot. One day Maulvi Sahib went out somewhere. Taking the opportunity, the children started playing. Muslim boys by nature used to tease the truth. All of them started harassing Hakikatrai on that day also, abused him and then started abusing Hindu deities.
When the reality could not be tolerated, then he said, ‘What if the same things were said to your prophet?” The Muslim boys angrily said- ‘Can you dare so much? Just say it and see.’
The boy Hakikatrayan repeated the same words. But there the condition of the Muslim boys was as if a holocaust had taken place. They made a big deal out of it. Everyone ran to Maulvi Saheb and told everything by applying salt and pepper.
Hakikatrayoka was not to lie. The result was that Maulvi Saheb took the matter to the court of the governor of that place. Hakikatrai was arrested. The hands and feet of the little boy were handcuffed. He was bound and made to stand in the court. ‘If you become a Muslim then you will be saved from death.
Can. The cousin put this proposal in front of the child.
The parents of the boy Hakikatrai were crying. His child wife had fainted. Mother was saying – ‘ Son! You accept Kazi’s words. If you continue to live even after being a Muslim, we will be able to see you.’ Qazi tempted-‘You will be given a high position on being a Muslim.’
Hakikatrai was a child, but his mind was full of patriotism. He said to his mother – ‘Mother! I am not born immortal. When I have to die one day, then why should I leave my religion and become sinful for a short life. It is better to die than to live a profane life.’
‘I cannot give up my religion.’ The child told Kaji clearly. The executioner’s sword beheaded that boy in the open field.
