विनोबासे ‘सन्त विनोबा’

सन् 1912 ई0 की यह बात है। बडोदरा शहरके दो मित्र आपसमें बातें कर रहे थे। एक था महादेव मोघे और दूसरा विनायक भावे ।
महादेवने कहा, ‘विनायक, महाराष्ट्रमें सन्त बहुत हुए हैं और हैं, पर कोंकणस्थ ब्राह्मणवर्गमें आजतक कोई सन्त नहीं बना।’ विनायकने पूछा, ‘महादेव! क्या यह बात सच है ?’
‘बिलकुल सच, कोंकणस्थ ब्राह्मण जातिमें आद्य क्रान्तिकारी वासुदेव बलवन्त फड़केजीसे लेकर वीर सावरकरतक अनेक देशभक्त हुए, लेकिन सन्त एक भी नहीं।’ महादेवने कहा ।
फिर दोनोंने मिलकर सन्त-महन्तोंकी सूची बनायी।महाराष्ट्रके सभी सन्तोंकी सूचीमें कोई भी कोंकणस्थब्राह्मण नहीं था। इसपर बड़े ही आत्मविश्वासपूर्वकविनायकने कहा, ‘अगर यह सच है तो महादेव! मैं हीकोंकणस्थ ब्राह्मणोंमें पहला सन्त-महात्मा बनूँगा।’ इस वाक्यको सुनकर बड़ा आश्चर्य हुआ
इस निर्णयको विनोबाजीने बराबर याद रखा। उनकी माँकी इच्छा थी कि भावे खानदानका नाम रोशन हो और आगे चलकर उनका पुत्र कोई बड़ा नेता बने। अपने बेटेपर उनका आत्मविश्वास दृढ़ था ।
चालीस साल बाद 1951 ई0 में एक दिन सुबहके अखबार में महादेव मोघेकी नजर मोटे टाइपमें छपे शीर्षकपर पड़ी। शीर्षक था, ‘सन्त विनोबाजीद्वारा आन्ध्र प्रदेशमें भूदान यज्ञका प्रारम्भ।’ उसमें लिखा था, ‘जो मेहनत करनेके लिये तैयार हैं, जो कष्ट उठानेसे नहीं डरते, जो भूमिहीन हैं, जिनके पास जमीन नहीं है, ऐसे गरीब किसानोंके, दीनदलितोंके जीवन-निर्वाहहेतु विनोबाजीने ‘भूदान यज्ञ’ प्रारम्भ किया है। लाखों एकड़ जमीन हासिल की गयी है और हजारों भूमिहीन किसानोंमें बाँटी गयी। मेहनतकर स्वाभिमानपूर्वक जिन्दगी जीनेका हक उन्होंने भूमिहीन किसानोंको दिलाया है। भूमिहीन, दलित, हरिजन, किसानबन्धुओंको उन्होंने हजारों एकड़ जमीन दानमें प्राप्तकर बाँट दी है और उन्हें आत्मनिर्भर बनाया है। भूदानके उनके इस अलौकिक कार्यसे ही उन्हें ‘भौमर्षि’ का सम्मान दिया गया।’
यह सब पढ़कर मोघेजीकी आँखें डबडबा गयीं। अपने ही बचपनके साथीको सन्त बना देखकर उन्हें बचपनकी याद आयी। ‘मैं ही बनूँगा पहला कोंकणस्थ सन्त।’ विनोबाजीके इन शब्दोंकी याद आयी। आगे चलकर मोघे भी विनोबाके साथ भूदान यज्ञके कार्यमें गाँव-गाँव घूमे। सन्त विनोबाजीके भावपूर्ण दर्शनसे उनकी आँखें भर आतीं और मन-ही-मन वे उनकी वन्दना करते।
आगे चलकर विनोबा ‘सन्त’ के नामसे प्रसिद्ध हुए, पर यह सब देखनेके लिये उनकी माँ नहीं रहीं। इसकी वेदना उन्हें आखिरतक सताती रही। [ वीनूकी माँ ]

Vinobase ‘Saint Vinoba’
This is about the year 1912. Two friends of Vadodara city were talking among themselves. One was Mahadev Moghe and the other was Vinayak Bhave.
Mahadev said, ‘Vinayak, there have been and are many saints in Maharashtra, but till date no one has become a saint in Konkanasth Brahmin class.’ Vinayak asked, ‘ Mahadev! Is this thing true?’
‘Absolutely true, there were many patriots in Konkanasth Brahmin caste from proto-revolutionary Vasudev Balwant Phadkeji to Veer Savarkar, but not a single saint.’ Mahadev said.
Then together they made a list of saints and mahants. There was no Konkanastha Brahmin in the list of all the saints of Maharashtra. Very confidently Vinayak said on this, ‘ If this is true then Mahadev! I will become the first Saint-Mahatma among the Konkanastha Brahmins.’ Very surprised to hear this sentence
Vinobaji always remembered this decision. His mother’s wish was that the name of the Bhave family should be bright and her son should become a big leader in future. His confidence in his son was firm.
Forty years later, in 1951, one day in the morning newspaper, Mahadev Moghe’s eyes fell on a headline printed in bold type. The title was ‘Bhoodan Yagya started in Andhra Pradesh by Saint Vinobaji’. It was written in it, ‘Vinobaji has started ‘Bhoodan Yajna’ for the survival of the poor farmers, the downtrodden, who are ready to work hard, who are not afraid of suffering, who are landless, who do not have land. Lakhs of acres of land have been acquired and distributed among thousands of landless farmers. He has given the landless farmers the right to work hard and lead a life of self-respect. He has distributed thousands of acres of land to the landless, Dalit, Harijan and farmer brothers by donating them and making them self-reliant. It was because of this supernatural act of Bhoodan that he was given the honor of ‘Bhaumarshi’.
Mogheji’s eyes were filled with tears after reading all this. Seeing his own childhood friend become a saint, he remembered his childhood. ‘I will become the first Konkanasth saint.’ I remembered these words of Vinobaji. Later on Moghe also traveled from village to village with Vinoba in the work of Bhoodan Yagya. His eyes would fill with tears at the soulful darshan of Saint Vinobaji and he would worship him in his heart.
Later Vinoba became famous as ‘Sant’, but his mother was not there to see all this. Its pain kept haunting him till the end. [Vinu’s mother]
