बृहस्पति का जन्म कैसे हुआ

पुराणों के अनुसार ब्रह्मा जी के मानस पुत्र अंगिराऋषि का विवाह स्मृति से हुआ। उनके उतथ्य व जीव नामक पुत्र हुए। जीव बचपन से ही शांत एवम जितेन्द्रिय प्रकृति के थे। वे समस्त शास्त्रों तथा नीति के ज्ञाता हुए।

अंगिरा नंदन जीव ने प्रभास क्षेत्र में शिवलिंग की स्थापना की तथा शिव को प्रसन्न करने के लिए घोर तप किया। महादेव ने उनकी आराधना एवं तपस्या से प्रसन्न हो कर उन्हें साक्षात दर्शन दिए और कहा, हे द्विज श्रेष्ठ ! तुमने बृहत तप किया है अतः तुम बृहस्पति नाम से प्रसिद्ध हो कर देवताओं के गुरु बनों और उनका धर्म व नीति के अनुसार मार्गदर्शन करो।’

इस प्रकार महादेव ने बृहस्पति को देवगुरु पद और नवग्रह मंडल में स्थान प्रदान किया। तभी से जीव, बृहस्पति और गुरु के नाम से विख्यात हुए। देवगुरु की शुभा,तारा और ममता तीन पत्नियां हैं। उनकी तीसरी पत्नी ममता से भारद्वाज एवम कच नामक दो पुत्र हुए। || ॐ ब्रह्म बृहस्पतिये नम: ||

According to Puranas, Angirarishi, son of Lord Brahma, got married to Smriti. They had sons named Utathya and Jiva. Jeev was of calm and Jitendriya nature since childhood. He became the knower of all the scriptures and policy.

Angira Nandan Jeev established Shivling in Prabhas Kshetra and did great penance to please Shiva. Pleased with his worship and penance, Mahadev appeared to him in person and said, O Dwij Shrestha! You have done great penance, so you become famous by the name of Brihaspati, become the teacher of the gods and guide them according to religion and policy.’

Thus Mahadev granted Jupiter the position of Devaguru and a place in the Navagraha Mandala. Since then, he has been known as Jiva, Brihaspati and Guru. Devguru has three wives, Shubha, Tara and Mamata. His third wife Mamata had two sons named Bhardwaj and Kach. || Om Brahma Brihaspatiye Namah ||
