भावी शुभाशुभके आधारका बोध
एक बार हिमालयपर्वतपर विराजमान भगवान् महेश्वरसे देवी पार्वतीने पूछा-भगवन्! आपने बताया कि मनुष्योंकी जो भली-बुरी अवस्था है, वह सब उनकी अपनी ही करनीका फल है, किंतु लोकमें यह देखा जाता है कि लोग समस्त शुभाशुभ कर्मको ग्रहजनित मानकर प्रायः उन ग्रह-नक्षत्रोंकी ही आराधना करते रहते हैं, क्या उनकी मान्यता ठीक है ? देव! मेरे इस सन्देहका निवारण करनेकी कृपा करें। इसपर महादेवजी बोले
स्थाने संशयितं देवि तत्त्वविनिश्चयम् ॥
नक्षत्राणि ग्रहाश्चैव शुभाशुभनिवेदकाः ।मानवानां महाभागे न तु कर्मकराः स्वयम्
प्रजानां तु हितार्थाय शुभाशुभविधिं प्रति । अनागतमतिक्रान्तं ज्योतिश्चक्रेण बोध्यते ॥
किंतु तत्र शुभं कर्म सुग्रहैस्तु निवेद्यते I
दुष्कृतस्याशुभैरेव समवायो भवेदिति ॥
केवलं ग्रहनक्षत्रं न करोति शुभाशुभम् सर्वमात्मकृतं कर्म लोकवादेवि ग्रहा इति ॥
देवि! तुमने उचित सन्देह उपस्थित किया है। इस विषयमें जो सिद्धान्त मत है, उसे सुनो। महाभागे! ग्रह और नक्षत्र मनुष्योंके शुभ और अशुभकी सूचनामात्र देनेवाले हैं। वे स्वयं कोई काम नहीं करते हैं। प्रजाके हितके लिये ज्यौतिषचक्र (ग्रह-नक्षत्र – मण्डल) के द्वारा भूत और भविष्यके शुभाशुभ फलका बोध कराया जाता है, किंतु वहाँ | शुभ कर्मफलकी सूचना उत्तम (शुभ) ग्रहोंद्वारा प्राप्त होती है और दुष्कर्मके फलकी सूचना अशुभ ग्रहोंद्वारा। केवल ग्रह और नक्षत्र ही शुभाशुभ कर्मफलको उपस्थित नहीं करते सारा अपना ही किया हुआ कर्म शुभाशुभ फलका उत्पादक होता है। ग्रहोंने कुछ किया है- यह कथन लोगोंका प्रवादमात्र है। [ महा0 अनु0 अ0145 ]

But tatra shubham karma sugrahaistu nivedyate.
Duskritsyashubhairev Samvayo Bhavediti ॥
Only planetary constellations don’t do Shubhashubham Sarvamatmakritam Karma Lokvadevi Graha Iti ॥
Devi! You have raised reasonable doubts. Listen to the theory that is in this matter. Great run! Planets and constellations are only going to give information about the auspicious and inauspicious of humans. They don’t do any work themselves. For the benefit of the people, the auspicious results of the past and the future are explained through the astrological cycle (planet-constellation-circle), but there | The information about the result of good deeds is received by the best (auspicious) planets and the information about the result of bad deeds is received through inauspicious planets. Only planets and constellations do not present auspicious results, all one’s own actions are productive of auspicious results.
