शब्द वापस नहीं लौटते
एक किसानकी एक दिन अपने पड़ोसीसे खूब जमकर लड़ाई हुई। बादमें जब उसे अपनी गलतीका अहसास हुआ, तो उसे खुदपर शर्म आयी। वह इतना शर्मसार हुआ कि एक साधुके पास पहुँचा और कहा ‘मैं अपनी गलतीका प्रायश्चित्त करना चाहता हूँ।’
साधुने कहा कि ‘तिनकोंसे भरा हुआ एक थैला लाओ और उसे शहरके बीचो-बीच उड़ा दो।’ किसानने ठीक वैसा ही किया, जैसा कि साधुने कहा था और फिर साधुके पास लौट आया। लौटनेपर साधुने उससे कहा ‘अब जाओ, जितने भी तिनके उड़े हैं, उन्हें बटोरकर थैलेमें भर लाओ।’
नादान किसान जब वैसा करने पहुँचा तो उसे मालूम हुआ कि यह काम मुश्किल नहीं, बल्कि असम्भव है। खैर, खाली थैला ले, वह वापस साधुके पास आ गया। यह देख साधुने उससे कहा- ‘ऐसा ही मुँहसे निकले शब्दोंके साथ भी होता है।’
बोलो तो तौलकर बोलो। बोले गये शब्द वापस
नहीं लौटते हैं।

One day a farmer had a fierce fight with his neighbor. Later when he realized his mistake, he felt ashamed of himself. He was so ashamed that he went to a monk and said ‘I want to atone for my mistake.’
The sage said, ‘Bring a bag full of straws and blow it in the middle of the city.’ The farmer did exactly as the sage had said and then returned to the sage. On returning, the monk said to him, ‘Now go, collect all the straws that have flown and fill them in the bag.’
When the ignorant farmer reached to do the same, he came to know that this work is not difficult, but impossible. Well, taking the empty bag, he came back to the monk. Seeing this, the monk said to him – ‘The same happens with the words that come out of the mouth.’
