हजरत अलीका एक सेवक उनसे झगड़कर भाग गया था। एक दिन जब कुफा शहरमें अली सबेरेकी नमाज पढ़ रहे थे, वह छिपकर मस्जिदमें घुस आया।सभी लोग नमाज पढ़नेमें तल्लीन थे। अवसर पाकर उस नौकरने तलवारका एक भरपूर प्रहार अलीपर किया और भाग खड़ा हुआ ।लोगोंने शीघ्रतापूर्वक नमाज पूरी की। हजरत अलीको भारी चोट लगी थी। कुछ लोग उनकी सेवामें लग गये और कुछ उस हत्यारेको पकड़ने दौड़े। घावमेंसे अधिक रक्त निकल जानेके कारण अलीको प्यास लगी। उनके लिये लोगोंने शरबत बनवाया। इतनी देरमें दूसरे लोग दौड़कर उस अपराधीको पकड़ चुकेथे। वे उसे अली साहबके सामने ले आये। हजरत अलीने कहा- ‘यह शरबत पहिले मेरे मारनेवालेको दो। वह दौड़ते-दौड़ते थक गया है, हाँफ रहा है और पसीनेसे लथपथ है। अवश्य वह प्यासा होगा।’ लोगोंने उसे शरबत पिलाया और अलीने उसे क्षमा कर दिया। – सु0 सिं0
A servant of Hazrat Alika ran away after quarreling with him. One day when Ali was offering morning prayers in the city of Kufa, he secretly entered the mosque. Everyone was engrossed in offering prayers. Taking the opportunity, the servant struck Ali with a heavy sword and ran away. The people hurriedly completed the prayer. Hazrat Ali was badly hurt. Some people started serving him and some ran to catch that murderer. Ali felt thirsty because of excessive blood coming out of the wound. People made syrup for them. In this time other people had run and caught that criminal. They brought him in front of Ali Saheb. Hazrat Ali said- ‘First give this sherbet to the one who killed me. He is tired of running, panting and drenched in sweat. He must be thirsty.’ People made him drink sherbet and Ali forgave him. – Su 0 Sin 0
