भोगासक्तिका दुष्परिणाम
विरोचनकुमार बलिका एक बलवान् पुत्र था, जिसका नाम था- साहसिक । वह अपनी स्त्रियोंके साथ गन्धमादनपर्वतपर विहार कर रहा था। वहाँ वनमें नाना प्रकारके वाद्यों तथा रमणियोंके नूपुरोंका महान् शब्द होने लगा, जिससे उस पर्वतकी कन्दरामें रहकर श्रीकृष्णका चिन्तन करनेवाले दुर्वासामुनिका ध्यान भंग हो गया। वे खड़ाऊँ पहनकर बाहर निकले। उस समय मुनिवर दुर्वासाका शरीर अत्यन्त दुर्बल हो गया था। दाढ़ी-मूँछ बहुत बढ़ गयी थी। वे लाठीके सहारे चलते थे। क्रोधकी तो वे मूर्तिमान् राशि ही थे और अग्निके समान तेजस्वी जान पड़ते थे। दुर्वासा उन ऋषियोंमेंसे हैं, जिनके शापके भयसे यह सारा विश्व काँपता रहता है।
दुर्वासाने कहा- दुर्बुद्धि असुर ! तू गदहेके समान भोगासक्त है, इसलिये गदहा हो जा। आजसे चार लाख वर्ष बीतने पर भारतमें दिव्य माथुर-मण्डलके अन्तर्गत पवित्र तालवनमें बलदेवजीके हाथसे तेरी मुक्ति होगी। उस शापके कारण ही भगवान् श्रीकृष्णने बलरामजीके हाथसे उसका वध करवाया और स्वयं उन्होंने उसे इसलिये नहीं मारा; क्योंकि उन्होंने प्रह्लादजीको यह वर दे रखा था कि तुम्हारे वंशका कोई दैत्य मेरे हाथसे नहीं मारा जायगा।
इस प्रकार भोगासक्तिके परिणामस्वरूप बलि-जैसेधर्मात्माका पुत्र होते हुए भी साहिसकको निन्दनीय गर्दभ योनिमें जन्म लेना पड़ा, अतः कल्याण-कामी मनुष्यको भोगोंके प्रति आसक्तिसे दूर ही रहना चाहिये; क्योंकि भोगोंके प्रति अनुचित आसक्ति पतनका कारण होती है।

He was the embodiment of anger and seemed as fiery as fire. Durvasa is one of those sages, whose curse makes the whole world tremble.
Durvasa said – evil minded demon! You are attached to enjoyment like a donkey, so become a donkey. After the passage of four lakh years from today, you will be freed from the hands of Baldevji in the sacred Talvan under the divine Mathur-Mandala in India. It was because of that curse that Lord Krishna got him killed by Balramji and he himself did not kill him because of this; Because he had given this boon to Prahladji that no demon of your dynasty would be killed by my hand.
Thus, as a result of indulgence, despite being the son of a righteous person like Bali, Sahisak had to be born in the condemnable womb, so a welfare-oriented man should stay away from attachment to enjoyments; Because undue attachment to pleasures is the cause of downfall.
