साधुता

संत जाफर सादिकका नाम प्रसिद्ध है। एक बार एक आदमीके रुपयोंकी थैली चोरी चली गयी। भ्रमवश उसने इन्हें पकड़ लिया।

आपने पूछा- ‘थैलीमें कुल कितने रुपये थे ?’ ‘एक हजार’ उसने बताया ।

आपने अपनी ओरसे एक हजार रुपये उसे दे दिये। कुछ समय बाद असली चोर पकड़ा गया, रुपयेकास्वामी घबराया और एक हजार रुपये ले जाकर उनके चरणोंपर रखकर भ्रमके लिये उसने क्षमा-याचना की । आपने बड़ी नम्रतासे उत्तर दिया- ‘ दी हुई वस्तु मैं वापस नहीं लेता।’

आपके साधुतापूर्ण उज्ज्वल व्यक्तित्वपर वह मुग्ध हो गया और अपने पूर्वकृत्यपर पश्चात्ताप करने लगा ।

The name of Saint Jafar Sadiqa is famous. Once a man’s money bag was stolen. Confusedly he caught them.
You asked- ‘How many rupees were there in the bag?’ ‘One thousand,’ he said.
You gave him one thousand rupees on your behalf. After some time the real thief was caught, Rupeeswamy got scared and took one thousand rupees and placed it at his feet and apologized for the confusion. You replied very politely – ‘I do not take back the given thing.’
He got mesmerized by your saintly bright personality and started repenting for his past actions.
