संकल्पकी शक्ति
शराब पीकर एक व्यक्ति गन्दे नालेके पास गिरा हुआ था। आस-पासके लोग उसे घृणाकी दृष्टिसे देख रहे थे। सभीके मनमें उसके प्रति गलत भाव भरे हुए थे। वह व्यक्ति एक सम्पन्न घरानेका युवक था। नशेकी लतके कारण घर-द्वार बेचनेके बाद अब वह दर-दर भटक रहा था। उस स्थितिमें भी शराबके प्रति उसकी आसक्ति कम नहीं हुई थी। मेहनत मजदूरी करके वह जो भी लाता, वह सारी कमाई शराबकी भेंट चढ़ जाती थी। लोग गालियाँ देते थे। मारते थे। लेकिन वह सुधरनेका नाम ही नहीं ले रहा था। दिनों-दिन उसकी स्थिति बिगड़ती ही जा रही थी। आज उसे कोई गन्दे नालेके पाससे उठानेवाला भी नहीं मिल रहा था। लोग उसके आस-पाससे गुजर रहे थे, लेकिन देखकर भी कोई उसे उठाने नहीं जाता था।
कुछ देर बाद उस रास्तेसे एक सन्त गुजरे। सन्तको उस व्यक्तिपर दया आयी। अपने शिष्योंकी मददसे उन्होंने उसे उठाया। उसके मुँहपर पानीके छींटे मारे। शराबीने आँखें खोलीं, ईश्वरकी कृपासे मनके भाव बदले। उसने सन्तको प्रणाम किया और कहा- ‘ ‘मुझे अपने साथ ले चलें।’ सन्तने कहा-‘चलो’ और वह व्यक्ति सन्तके पीछे चल पड़ा।
सन्त वहाँसे उसे अपने आश्रम ले आये । वहाँपर और लोगोंके साथ उन्होंने शराबीके रहनेकी भी व्यवस्था कर दी। कुछ दिन बाद उस व्यक्तिको फिर शराबकी लतने परेशान किया। वह सन्तका आश्रम छोड़कर जाने लगा। अचानक उसके मनमें आया कि वह जानेके पहले सन्तको बता दे कि वह जा रहा है। जब सन्तने उससे पूछा कि वह क्यों जा रहा उसने कहा कि वह बिना शराब पीये नहीं रह सकता। सन्तने उससे कहा कि ‘वह शराब छोड़कर नये सिरेसे जीवनकी शुरुआत करे।’ उसपर उस व्यक्तिने कहा कि ‘शराब उसे छोड़ती ही नहीं, वह उसे कैसे छोड़े?’ सन्तने तत्काल एक खम्भेको पकड़ लिया। इसके बाद सन्तने कहा-‘अरे, यह खम्भा तो मुझे छोड़ ही नहीं रहा है।’ उसपर शराबी व्यक्ति हँसने लगा, उसने कहा-‘महाराज! खम्भेको आपने पकड़ रखा है। वह आपको कैसे छोड़ेगा ?’ इतना सुनना था कि सन्तने खम्भेको छोड़ दिया और कहा- ‘यही हाल तुम्हारा है, शराबको तुमने पकड़ रखा है, और कहते हो कि वह तुम्हें छोड़ ही नहीं रही है ?’
सन्तके मुँहसे यह बात सुनकर उस
व्यक्तिकी आँखें खुल गयीं । सन्तने उसे समझाया कि गलत आदत छोड़नेके लिये संकल्पकी जरूरत होती है। वह इस भ्रममें न रहे कि शरावने उसको पकड़ रखा है। सत्य यह है कि उसने शराबको पकड़ रखा है। वह चाहे तो एक झटके में शराबको उसी तरह छोड़ सकता है, जैसे र मैंने खम्भेको छोड़ा। सन्तकी बातसे उस व्यक्तिको एक नयी दृष्टि मिली और शराब न पीनेका संकल्प लेकर उसने सन्तसे विदा ली।
संकल्पशक्तिसे असम्भव भी सम्भव हो सकता है।
power of will
A person had fallen near a dirty drain after drinking alcohol. The people around were looking at him with hatred. Everyone’s mind was filled with wrong feelings towards him. That person was a young man from a prosperous family. After selling door to door due to drug addiction, he was now wandering door to door. Even in that situation, his addiction to alcohol did not diminish. Whatever he used to earn by working hard, all those earnings went to alcohol. People used to abuse. Used to kill But he was not taking the name of improvement. Day by day his condition was getting worse. Today he could not even find anyone to pick him up from near the dirty drain. People were passing by him, but no one went to pick him up even after seeing him.
After some time a saint passed by that way. The saint felt pity on that person. He lifted it with the help of his disciples. Splashed water on his face. Drunkard opened his eyes, by the grace of God his mind changed. He bowed down to the saint and said – ‘Take me with you.’ The saint said – ‘Come’ and that person followed the saint.
The saint brought him from there to his ashram. He also arranged for a drunkard to stay there along with other people. After a few days, that person was again troubled by alcohol addiction. He started leaving the saint’s ashram. Suddenly it occurred to him that before leaving he should inform the saint that he is leaving. When the saint asked him why he was going, he said that he could not live without drinking. The saint told him to ‘leave alcohol and start life afresh’. On that the person said that ‘alcohol does not leave him at all, how can he leave it?’ The saint immediately caught hold of a pillar. After this the saint said – ‘Hey, this pillar is not leaving me at all.’ The drunkard started laughing at him, he said – ‘ Maharaj! You are holding the pole. How will he leave you?’ I wanted to hear so much that the saint left the pillar and said – ‘Same is your condition, you have held the liquor, and you say that it is not leaving you at all?’

The person’s eyes opened. Saints explained to him that it takes determination to leave a bad habit. He should not be under the illusion that Shravan has caught him. The truth is that he has got hold of the liquor. If he wants, he can leave the liquor in one stroke in the same way as I left the pillar. That person got a new vision from the saint’s talk and took a resolution not to drink alcohol, he said goodbye to the saint.
With determination, even the impossible can become possible.
