बात उन दिनों की है जब हम कॉलेज में प्रथम वर्ष के छात्र थे. दशहरा बीत चुका था दीपावली समीप थी तभी एक दिन कुछ युवक युवतियों की ngo टाइप टोली हमारे कॉलेज में आई.
उन्होंने स्टूडेंट्स से कुछ प्रश्न पूछे किन्तु एक प्रश्न पर कॉलेज में सन्नाटा छा गया.
उन्होंने पूछा जब दीपावली भगवान राम के 14 वर्ष के वनवास से अयोध्या लौटने की खुशी में मनाई जाती है तो दीपावली पर लक्ष्मी पूजन क्यों होता है ? राम की पूजा क्यों नही ?
प्रश्न पर सन्नाटा छा गया क्योंकि उसवक्त कोई सोशलमीडिया तो था नही, स्मार्टफोन भी नही थे किसी को कुछ नही पता. तब सन्नाटा चीरते हुए हममें से ही एक हाथ प्रश्न का उत्तर देने हेतु ऊपर उठा
हमनें बताया क्योंकि दीपावली उत्सव दो युग सतयुग और त्रेता युग से जुड़ा हुआ है. सतयुग में समुद्र मंथन से माता लक्ष्मी उसदिन प्रगट हुई थी इसलिए लक्ष्मी पूजन होता है. भगवान राम भी त्रेता युग मे इसी दिन अयोध्या लौटे थे तो अयोध्या वासियों ने दीप जलाकर उनका स्वागत किया था इसलिए इसका नाम दीपावली है. इसलिए इस पर्व के दो नाम है लक्ष्मी पूजन जो सतयुग से जुड़ा है दूजा दीपावली जो त्रेता युग प्रभु राम और दीपो से जुड़ा है.
हमारे उत्तर के बाद थोड़ी देर तक सन्नाटा छाया रहा क्योंकि किसी को भी उत्तर नही पता था यहां तक कि प्रश्न पूछ रही टोली को भी नही. खैर सबने खूब तालियां बजाई. उसके बाद एक अखबार ने हमारा इंटरव्यू भी लिया. उस समय अखबार का इंटरव्यू लेना बहुत बड़ी बात हुआ करती थी.
बाद में पता चला कि वो टोली आज की शब्दावली अनुसार लिबरर्ल्स की थी जो हर कॉलेज में जाकर युवाओं के मस्तिष्क में यह डाल रही थी कि लक्ष्मी पूजन का औचित्य क्या जब दीपावली राम से जुड़ी है. कुल मिलाकर वह छात्रों का ब्रेनवॉश कर रही थी. लेकिन हमारे उत्तर के बाद वह टोली गायब हो गई.

लक्ष्मी गणेश का आपस में क्या रिश्ता है
और दीवाली पर इन दोनों की पूजा क्यों होती है
सही उत्तर है
लक्ष्मी जी जब सागरमन्थन में मिलीं और भगवान विष्णु से विवाह किया तो उन्हें सृष्टि की धन और ऐश्वर्य की देवी बनाया गया तो उन्होंने धन को बाँटने के लिए मैनेजर कुबेर को बनाया। कुबेर बड़े ही कंजूस थे, वे धन बाँटते नहीं थे, खुद धन के भंडारी बन कर बैठ गए।
माता लक्ष्मी परेशान हो गई, उनकी सन्तान को कृपा नहीं मिल रही थी। उन्होंने अपनी व्यथा भगवान विष्णु को बताई। भगवान विष्णु ने उन्हें कहा कि तुम मैनेजर बदल लो, माँ लक्ष्मी बोली, यक्षों के राजा कुबेर मेरे परम भक्त हैं उन्हें बुरा लगेगा।
तब भगवान विष्णु ने उन्हें गणेश जी की विशाल बुद्धि को प्रयोग करने की सलाह दी।
माँ लक्ष्मी ने गणेश जी को धन का डिस्ट्रीब्यूटर बनने को कहा, गणेश जी ठहरे महाबुद्धिमान, वे बोले, माँ, मैं जिसका भी नाम बताऊंगा, उस पर आप कृपा कर देना, कोई किंतु परन्तु नहीं। माँ लक्ष्मी ने हाँ कर दी !
अब गणेश जी लोगों के सौभाग्य के विघ्न/ रुकावट को दूर कर उनके लिए धनागमन के द्वार खोलने लगे।
कुबेर भंडारी रह गए, गणेश पैसा सैंक्शन करवाने वाले बन गए।
गणेश जी की दरियादिली देख माँ लक्ष्मी ने अपने मानस पुत्र श्रीगणेश को आशीर्वाद दिया कि जहाँ वे अपने पति नारायण के सँग ना हों, वहाँ उनका पुत्रवत गणेश उनके साथ रहें।
दीवाली आती है कार्तिक अमावस्या को, भगवान विष्णु उस समय योगनिद्रा में होते हैं, वे जागते हैं ग्यारह दिन बाद देव उठनी एकादशी को। माँ लक्ष्मी को पृथ्वी भ्रमण करने आना होता है शरद पूर्णिमा से दीवाली के बीच के पन्द्रह दिन, तो वे सँग ले आती हैं गणेश जी को, इसलिए दीवाली को लक्ष्मी गणेश की पूजा होती है।

He asked when Diwali is celebrated in the joy of Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya from 14 years of exile, then why is Lakshmi worshiped on Diwali? Why not worship Ram?
There was silence on the question because at that time there was no social media, there were no smartphones, no one knew anything. Then, breaking the silence, one of us raised a hand to answer the question.
We told because Deepawali festival is associated with two eras Satyug and Treta Yug. Mother Lakshmi appeared on that day from the churning of the ocean in Satyuga, therefore Lakshmi is worshipped. Lord Ram also returned to Ayodhya on this day in Treta Yug, so the people of Ayodhya welcomed him by lighting lamps, hence its name is Deepawali. That’s why there are two names of this festival, Lakshmi Pujan which is related to Satyug and Duja Diwali which is related to Treta Yug Lord Ram and Deepo.
After our answer, there was silence for a while because no one knew the answer, not even the group asking the question. Well everyone clapped a lot. After that a newspaper also took our interview. At that time, taking newspaper interviews was a big deal.
Later it came to know that according to today’s terminology, that group belonged to Liberals who were going to every college and putting it in the mind of the youth that what is the justification of Lakshmi Pujan when Diwali is associated with Ram. Overall she was brainwashing the students. But after our reply that group disappeared. the question is What is the relationship between Lakshmi and Ganesh? And why are these two worshiped on Diwali

When Lakshmi ji met in Sagar Manthan and married Lord Vishnu, she was made the goddess of wealth and opulence of the universe, so she made Kuber the manager to distribute the wealth. Kuber was very miserly, he did not distribute the wealth, he himself sat as the treasurer of the wealth. Mother Lakshmi got upset, her children were not getting blessings. He told his grief to Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu told him to change the manager, Mother Lakshmi said, Kuber, the king of Yakshas, is my supreme devotee, he will feel bad. Then Lord Vishnu advised him to use the immense intelligence of Ganesha. Mother Lakshmi asked Ganesh ji to become the distributor of wealth, Ganesh ji was very intelligent, he said, Mother, whomever I name, you bless him, no but but no. Mother Lakshmi said yes! Now Ganesh ji removed the hindrances/obstacles in the good fortune of the people and started opening the doors of wealth for them. Kuber remained the Bhandari, Ganesh became the one who got the money sanctioned.
Seeing the generosity of Ganesha, Maa Lakshmi blessed her son Shree Ganesha that wherever she is not with her husband Narayan, her son Ganesha should be with her. Diwali falls on Kartik Amavasya, Lord Vishnu is in Yognidra at that time, he wakes up eleven days later on Dev Uthani Ekadashi. Mother Lakshmi has to visit the earth for fifteen days between Sharad Purnima and Diwali, so she brings Ganesha with her, that’s why Lakshmi Ganesha is worshiped on Diwali.
