बचपन में जिसकी गोदी में खेले,
वो होती है माँ।
बचपन में गलती करने पर जिससे डांट खाते,

डांटने के बाद भी जो प्यार करे,
वो होती है माँ।
सुबह आँख खुले तो पाते तुझे माँ,
रात आँख बंद करने से पहले पाते तुझे माँ।
पर एक दिन तू इतनी दूर चली गई कि तुझको देखने को तरस गए माँ।
फोन, मैसेज तक सीमित से रह गए वो सभी पल,
जो कभी तेरे साथ बिताए थे माँ।
अब तू दूर हुई तो समझ आया कि तेरी हर डांट में एक सीख थी माँ।
अब तेरी बेटी इतनी बड़ी हो गई कि उन्ही सीख के सहारे अपना जीवन चलाती है माँ।
अब हर एक चीज में तू ही याद आती है माँ।

क्या होती है माँ, असली अब समझ आया है माँ।
