Papmochani Ekadashi falls in the Krishna Paksha (waning phase of the moon) of the month of Chaitra. It is believed that those who observe this fast with sincere devotion receive freedom from known and unknown sins. Devotees who keep this vrat are blessed with the divine grace of Lord Vishnu.
Papmochani Ekadashi 2026 Date
According to the Hindu Panchang (Hindu calendar), the Ekadashi tithi will begin on 14 March at 08:10 AM and will end on 15 March at 09:16 AM. Based on the Udaya Tithi (the date prevailing at sunrise), the fast of Papmochani Ekadashi will be observed on Sunday, 15 March 2026.

Papmochani Ekadashi Puja Vidhi (Method of Worship)
On the day of Papmochani Ekadashi, wake up early in the morning, take a holy bath, and wear clean clothes. Then take a sankalp (sacred vow) to observe the fast while remembering Lord Vishnu.
During the puja, offer incense (dhup), lamp (deep), flowers, and fruits to Lord Vishnu. It is considered very auspicious to offer sweets and Tulsi leaves to the Lord. Chanting Vishnu Mantra or Vishnu Sahasranama during the worship brings great spiritual merit.
Devotees observe a fast throughout the day and meditate on Lord Vishnu. In the evening, perform the aarti of Lord Vishnu. The fast is completed on the next day, Dwadashi, after performing proper worship and then breaking the fast according to tradition.

चैत्र महीने के कृष्ण पक्ष में पड़ने वाली एकादशी को पापमोचनी एकादशी के नाम से जाना जाता है। मान्यता है कि इस दिन पूरी श्रद्धा के साथ व्रत-पूजा करने वालों को ज्ञात-अज्ञात पापों से मुक्ति मिल जाती है। इस दिन व्रत करने वालों पर सदैव भगवान विष्णु की कृपा बनी रहती है।
पापमोचनी एकादशी २०२६ की तिथि-
हिंदू पंचांग के अनुसार, चैत्र कृष्ण एकादशी तिथि १४ मार्च को सुबह ०८ बजकर १० मिनट से लेकर १५ मार्च को सुबह ०९ बजकर १६ मिनट तक रहेगी। उदिया तिथि के आधार पर पापमोचनी एकादशी का व्रत १५ मार्च दिन रविवार को रखा जाएगा।
पापमोचनी एकादशी २०२६ का शुभ मुहूर्त-
ब्रह्म मुहूर्त-

पापमोचनी एकादशी की पूजन विधि-
पापमोचनी एकादशी के दिन सुबह जल्दी उठकर स्नान करें और स्वच्छ वस्त्र धारण करें। इसके बाद भगवान विष्णु का स्मरण करते हुए व्रत का संकल्प लें। पूजा के समय भगवान को धूप, दीप, पुष्प और फल अर्पित करें। भगवान को मिठाई और तुलसी दल का भोग जरूर लगाएं। पूजा के दौरान विष्णु मंत्र या विष्णु सहस्रनाम का जाप करने से भी आपको अत्यंत शुभ फल मिलेगा। दिनभर उपवास रखकर भगवान विष्णु का ध्यान करें। संध्या काल में उनकी आरती करें। इसके बाद अगले दिन द्वादशी तिथि पर भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करने के बाद विधिपूर्वक व्रत का पारण करें। ।। जय भगवान श्रीहरि विष्णु जी ।।
