वसंत ऋतुका मॉस फाल्गुन और चैत्र है किन्तु पुष्टिमार्गमें वसंत पंचमीसे वसंतोत्सवका प्रारम्भ होता है । कारण शास्त्रोक्त मतानुसार प्रत्येक ऋतुका गर्भाधान चालीस दिन पहले होता है इसी लिए पुष्टिमार्गमें चालीस दिन पहले वसंतोत्सवका आरम्भ होता है । प्रभु व्रजभक्तोके साथ चालीस दिन होरी खेलते है ।
आजके दिन कामदेवका प्रादुर्भाव हुआ था इस लिए इसे मदन पंचमी अथवा मदनोत्सव भी कहा जाता है।
आजसे प्रभु चालीस दिन अबिल, गुलाल, चोवा, चन्दन, केसर रंगसे व्रजभक्तोके साथ खेलते है ।

कलश अधिवासन: राजभोगके पश्चात कलशमें जल भरके उसमे आम्रके पत्ते, आम्र मंजरी, बेर, विविध पुष्प, खजूरकी डाली इत्यादि पधरा कर कलशको लाल वस्त्रसे आच्छादित करके कलशका अधिवासन करके कलशमे कामदेवकी भावनासे पूजन किया जाता है ।
वसन्तमे होरी की धमार का गान किया जाता है ।

The months of spring are Phalgun and Chaitra, but in Pushti Marg, the spring festival starts from Vasant Panchmisa. The reason is that according to the scriptures, the conception of each season occurs forty days earlier, that is why the spring festival starts forty days earlier in Pushti Marg. Lord Vraj plays hori with the devotees for forty days. Kamadeva appeared on this day, hence it is also called Madan Panchami or Madnotsav. From today, the Lord plays with Vraj devotees with Abil, Gulal, Chowa, Sandalwood and Saffron colors for forty days.

Kalash Adhivasan: After Rajbhog, the Kalash is filled with water, mango leaves, mango manjari, plum, various flowers, date branches etc. are placed in it, covered with a red cloth and the Kalash is abode and the Kalash is worshiped in the spirit of Kamadeva.
