आज माता यशोदा जन्मोत्सव पर्व है। माँ यशोदा भगवान श्रीकृष्ण की माता हैं, जो कि प्रेम तथा वात्सल्य की साक्षात् मूर्ति हैं। इस पर्व को गोकुल तथा नंदगाँव में बहुत धूमधाम से मनाया जाता है क्योंकि यहीं पर भगवान कृष्ण ने माता यशोदा के साथ अपना बचपन बिताया।
लोग इस दिन माता यशोदा की कथायें सुनाते हैं कि किस प्रकार माँ यशोदा, अपने पुत्र कृष्ण का ध्यान रखती थीं। श्रीकृष्ण द्वारिका के राजा थे जो आज गुजरात में है, इसलिए गुजरात में भी माँ यशोदा जन्मोत्सव का पर्व हर्षोल्लास से मनाया जाता है।
अपने पूर्व जन्म में माता यशोदा ने भगवान विष्णु की घोर तपस्या की थी। उनकी तपस्या से प्रसन्न होकर भगवान विष्णु ने उन्हें वर मांगने को कहा। माता ने कहा, हे ईश्वर मेरी तपस्या तभी पूर्ण होगी जब आप स्वयं, मुझे मेरे पुत्र के रूप में प्राप्त होंगे। भगवान ने प्रसन्न होकर उन्हें कहा कि आने वाले काल में मैं वासुदेव एवं देवकी माँ के यहाँ जन्म लूंगा किन्तु मुझे मातृत्व का सुख आपसे ही प्राप्त होगा। समय के साथ ऐसा ही हुआ जब कंस के कारावास में भगवान कृष्ण का जन्म हुआ तो वासुदेव उनकी रक्षा के लिए उन्हें नंद बाबा एवं यशोदा मैय्या के घर छोड़ आए ताकि उनका अच्छे से पालन पोषण हो सके। तत्पश्चात माता यशोदा ने ही श्रीकृष्ण को मातृत्व का सुख प्रदान किया।
भगवान कृष्ण के प्रति माता यशोदा के अपार प्रेम की किसी अन्य से तुलना नहीं की जा सकती। यशोदाजी के सत्कर्मों व तप का ही यह फल है कि उनकी गोद में स्वयं भगवान खेल रहे हैं।*
माता यशोदा के विषय में श्रीमद्भागवत में कहा गया है मुक्तिदाता भगवान से जो कृपाप्रसाद नन्दरानी यशोदा को मिला, वैसा न ब्रह्माजी को, न शंकर जी को, न उनकी अर्धांगिनी लक्ष्मीजी को कभी प्राप्त हुआ।
इस दिन मां यशोदा को हृदय से याद करें, उनका आह्वान करें एवं उनसे संतान सुख के लिए आशीर्वाद मांगें। अगर आप संतान से सम्बंधित कष्टों से गुजर रहे हैं या फिर संतान प्राप्ति की कामना रखते हैं तो आपको इस दिन प्रातः काल उठ कर स्नान आदि कर स्वच्छ होकर मां यशोदा का ध्यान करना चाहिए एवं भगवान कृष्ण के लड्डू गोपाल स्वरुप का भी ध्यान करना चाहिए। मां को लाल चुनरी पहनाएं, पंजीरी एवं मीठा रोट एवं थोड़ा सा मक्खन लड्डू गोपाल के लिए भी भोग के लिए रखें तथा मन ही मन अपनी मनोकामनाओं की पूर्ति के लिए प्रार्थना करें। माता यशोदा वह देवी हैं जिन्होंने भगवान को अपनी गोद में उठाया-खिलाया है, उन्हें दुलार किया है। इसलिए ऐसी ममता की अद्भुत मूर्ति को हृदय से प्रणाम करें व उनसे अपने लिए भी उनके जैसे ही लड्डू गोपाल की प्रार्थना करें।

Today is Mata Yashoda Janmotsav festival. Mother Yashoda is the mother of Lord Krishna, who is a real idol of love and Vatsalya. This festival is celebrated with great pomp in Gokul and Nandgaon because it is here that Lord Krishna spent his childhood with Mother Yashoda.
People tell the stories of Mata Yashoda on this day how mother Yashoda used to take care of her son Krishna. Shri Krishna was the king of Dwarka who is in Gujarat today, hence the festival of Maa Yashoda Janmotsav is celebrated in Gujarat with joy.
Mother Yashoda did austerity of Lord Vishnu in her previous birth. Pleased with his penance, Lord Vishnu asked him to ask for a bride. Mother said, O God, my penance will be fulfilled only when you, I will receive my son as my son. God pleased and told him that in the coming time, I will take birth to Vasudev and Devaki’s mother, but I will get the happiness of motherhood from you. This happened with time when Lord Krishna was born in Kansa’s imprisonment, Vasudev left him at Nand Baba and Yashoda Maiya’s house to protect him so that he could be nurtured well. After that, Mother Yashoda gave Sri Krishna the pleasure of motherhood.
Mother Yashoda’s immense love for Lord Krishna cannot be compared to anyone else. It is the fruit of Yashodaji’s Satkarma and Tapa that God himself is playing in his lap.*
It is said in Srimad Bhagwat about Mata Yashoda, the Kripasad Nandrani Yashoda, who got the Kripasad Nandrani from God, did neither Brahmaji, nor to Shankar ji, nor his Ardhangini Lakshmiji.
On this day, remember mother Yashoda with heart, call them and ask for blessings from them for child happiness. If you are going through the sufferings related to children or wish to get children, then you should get a bath in the morning and do clean and meditate on Maa Yashoda and also meditate on Lord Krishna’s Laddu Gopal form. Wearing red chunari to the mother, keep the registrar and sweet rot and a little butter laddus Gopal for enjoyment and pray for the fulfillment of your mind. Mother Yashoda is the goddess who has taken God in his lap, has caressed them. Therefore, bow to such a wonderful idol of Mamta with heart and pray to Laddu Gopal like him.
