गणपति खंड कथा

महर्षि वेदव्यासकृत ब्रह्मवैवर्त पुराण के गणपति खण्ड में श्री गणेश जी के अद्भुत चरित्र का वर्णन है।(उस अद्भुत चरित्र के कुछ प्रसंगों को नीचे लिखा जा रहा है।)

भगवान श्री नारायण से नारद जी ने कहा – मैं ” गणपति खंड ” को सुनना चाहता हूं , जो मनुष्य के संपूर्ण मङ्गलों का भी मङ्गलस्वरूप तथा गणेश जी के जन्म-वृतान्त से परिपूर्ण है।
तब श्री नारायण ने कहा –
स्कंद-कार्तिकेय के उत्पन्न हो जाने के पश्चात् पार्वती जी ने शंकर जी से एक श्रेष्ठ पुत्र के लिए प्रार्थना की।
महादेव जी ने पार्वती जी को कहा – वरानने ! तुम श्री हरि की आराधना करके ” पुण्यक व्रत ” का प्रारंभ करो। इस व्रत के पालन से ही तुम्हें संपूर्ण वस्तुओं का साररूप पुत्र प्राप्त होगा। इस व्रत के द्वारा संपूर्ण प्राणियों के मनोरथ सिद्ध करनेवाले श्री कृष्ण की आराधना की जाती है।
इस व्रत का अनुष्ठान करके महाराज मनु की पत्नी शतरूपा को दो पुत्र – प्रियव्रत और उत्तानपाद प्राप्त हुए थे। इसी भांति माता देवहूति को कपिल जैसा पुत्र, माता अदिति को वामन (जो भगवान के अवतार थे) जैसा पुत्र, महर्षि अंगिरा की पत्नी को बृहस्पति जैसा पुत्र प्राप्त हुआ , जो देवताओं के आचार्य हुए। भृगु-पत्नी ने इस व्रत का पालन करके शुक्र को पुत्ररूप में प्राप्त किया , जो दैत्यों के गुरु हुए।

नारदजी कहते हैं – माता पार्वती के द्वारा उस व्रत के पूर्ण किए जाने पर गोपीश श्री कृष्ण ने किस प्रकार जन्म धारण किया ? वह मुझे बताएं।
श्री नारायण ने कहा – नारद ! जिस शुभ मुहूर्त में शुभदायिनी पार्वती देवी ने व्रत का प्रारंभ किया, उस समय चार भुजाधारी भगवान विष्णु लक्ष्मी सहित उपस्थित हुए। श्री महादेव जी ने कमलापति विष्णु जी की स्तुति की।
तब विष्णु जी ने कहा – त्रिलोचन ! इस पुण्यक व्रत के प्रभाव से स्वयं गोलोकनाथ श्रीकृष्ण पार्वती के गर्भ से उत्पन्न होकर आपके पुत्र होंगे।
वे कृपानिधि स्वयं समस्त देवगणों के ईश्वर हैं , इसलिए त्रिलोकी में ” गणेश ” नाम से विख्यात होंगे।
उनके स्मरणमात्र से ही जगत् के विघ्नों का नाश हो जाता है , इस कारण उन विभु का नाम ” विघ्नेश्वर ” होगा।
चूंकि पुण्यक व्रत में उन्हें नाना प्रकार के द्रव्य समर्पित किए जाते हैं , जिन्हें खाकर उनका उदर लंबा हो जाता है , अतः वे ” लंबोदर ” कहलाएंगे।
शनि की दृष्टि पड़ने से उनके सिर के कट जाने पर पुनः हाथी का सिर जोड़ा जाएगा , इस कारण उन्हें ” गजानन ” कहा जाएगा।
परशुराम जी के फरसे से जब इनका एक दांत टूट जाएगा , तब ये ” एकदन्त ” नामवाले होंगे। “

” वे ऐश्वर्यशाली शिशु संपूर्ण देवगणों के , हम लोगों के तथा जगत् के पूज्य होंगे। मेरे वरदान से उनकी सबसे पहले पूजा होगी। संपूर्ण देवों की पूजा के समय सबसे पहले उनकी पूजा करके मनुष्य निर्विघ्नतापूर्वक पूजा के फल को पा लेता है। गणेश जी का पूजन करने पर जगत के विघ्न निर्मूल हो जाते हैं। महादेव ! ये देव निरंतर विद्यमान रहनेवाले , नित्य तथा सृष्टिपरायण हैं। “

उनका मस्तक शनि देव के कारण किस प्रकार कटा एवं किस प्रकार उनका एक दांत टूटा ? इस पर अगले अंक में प्रकाश डाला जाएगा।

The Ganapati section of the Maharishi Ved Vyaskrit Brahmavaivarta Purana describes the amazing character of Shri Ganesha. (Some episodes of that amazing character are being written below.)

Narada ji from Lord Shri Narayan said – I want to hear the “Ganpati Khand”, which is also full of the entire form of human beings and the birth of Ganesha. Then Shri Narayan said – After Skanda-Kartikeya was born, Parvati ji prayed to Shankar for a superior son. Mahadev ji said to Parvati ji – Varan! You worship Shri Hari and start “Punyak Vrat”. By observing this fast, you will get the essence of all the things. Through this fast, Shri Krishna, who proves the desire of the entire beings, is worshiped. After performing rituals of this fast, Maharaj Manu’s wife Shatarupa received two sons – Priyavrata and Uttanapada. In the same way, Mata Devahuti got a son like Kapil, Mother Aditi got a son like Vamana (who was the incarnation of God), Maharishi Angira’s wife received a son like Jupiter, who became the gods of the gods. The Bhrigu-wife obeyed this fast and received Venus in a son form, who became the gurus of the demons.

Naradji says – How did Gopish Shri Krishna take birth after Mother Parvati fulfilled that fast? Tell me that. Shri Narayan said – Narada! The auspicious time in which the auspicious time Parvati Devi started the fast, at that time four arms were present with Lord Vishnu Lakshmi. Shri Mahadev ji praised Kamalapati Vishnu. Then Vishnu said – Trilochan! With the effect of this virtuous fast, Goloknath himself will be born from the womb of Shri Krishna Parvati and will be your son. He is the God of all the gods himself, so he will be famous in Triloki by the name “Ganesh” in Triloki. The obstacles of the world are destroyed by their memory, due to which the name of those Vibhu will be “Vighneshwar”. Since in the virtuous fast, many types of substances are dedicated to them, which their stomach becomes long after eating, so they will be called “Lumbodar”. Due to Saturn’s sight, the head of the elephant will be added again when his head is cut, hence he will be called “Gajanan”. When one of his teeth breaks from Parashuram ji, then they will be named “Ekdanta”. ,

“They will be worshiped by the whole gods, we and the world. My boon will be worshiped first of them. At the time of worshiping the entire gods, by worshiping them first, man gets the fruits of worship uninterrupted. On worshiping Ganesha, the obstacles of the world are covered. Saying this, Shri Hari became silent. (Respectively) How was his head cut due to Shani Dev and how one of his teeth broke? This will be highlighted in the next issue.
