चला इन्द्रजित अतुलित योद्धा…

भरत भैया ! सेतु का कार्य पूरा हुआ… और हम लोग लंका के लिए चल पड़े थे… हनुमान जी ने अपनी आत्मकथा सुनाते हुए भरत जी को बताया ।
हे पवनपुत्र ! आदिकवि ऋषि वाल्मीकि ने सम्पूर्ण रामायण की रचना की है… हम उसे पढ़ लेंगे… आप तो अपने पराक्रम की चर्चा जहाँ-जहाँ हो… उसे बताइये ।
भरत जी के इस प्रकार कहने पर… हनुमान जी बड़े संकोच में पड़ गए… सिर झुका लिया… और बोले… भरत भैया ! मेरा भला क्या पराक्रम होगा… सब प्रभु श्रीराम की ही कृपा शक्ति काम कर रही थी… ।
हम लोग लंका पहुँच गए थे… सुबेल नामक पर्वत पर ही अपना शिविर हम लोगों ने लगाया था… जो प्रभु श्रीराम को बहुत पसन्द आया था ।
भरत भैया ! आपको सम्पूर्ण युद्ध का वर्णन तो सुनना नही है… तो मैं मुख्य-मुख्य घटना आपको बता देता हूँ…
आप जिसमें हों… उस घटना को बताइये… हे पवनपुत्र !
भरत भैया ने फिर कहा ।
मैं सुनाने लगा था…।
इन्द्रजीत बहुत बड़ा योद्धा था… शायद भरत भैया ! अपने पिता रावण से भी बड़ा योद्धा !
उस घटना का उल्लेख करना आवश्यक है… भरत भैया ! जिससे आपको पता चले कि इसका नाम इन्द्रजीत कैसे पड़ा…
वैसे इसका नाम मेघनाद है… मेघ के बराबर इसकी गम्भीर गर्जना ब्रह्माण्ड प्रसिद्ध थी… इसलिये इसे “मेघनाद” नाम दिया था और ये नाम स्वयं इसके पिता रावण ने ही रखा था ।
रावण में एक ही कमी थी… वो कामी था… सुंदर स्त्री इसकी कमजोरी थी… ।
एक बार सागर में नहाते हुए इसने स्वर्ग की अप्सरा तिलोत्तमा को देख लिया था… अतीव सुन्दरी तिलोत्तमा… ।
बस… वही से इसने पीछा करना शुरू किया तिलोत्तमा का ।
वो भागी… पर कामी दशानन ऐसे कैसे छोड़ देता उसे… वो भी भागा पीछे-पीछे… तिलोत्तमा भागते हुए इंद्र के पास गयी…।
इंद्र ने जब देखा… दशानन आया है… और मेरे स्वर्ग की अप्सरा के पीछे पड़ा है… तभी तिलोत्तमा को तो उसने छुपा लिया… पर क्रोध में भरकर इन्द्र चिल्लाया… मारो इस रावण को… घेर लो… आज ये बच कर न जाने पाये… ।
देवों ने घेर लिया रावण को… चारों ओर से तलवारे खिंच गयी थीं ।
फंस गया था आज बुरी तरह रावण… अपने अस्त्र-शस्त्र उसने डाल दिए थे नीचे ।
भरत भैया ! मेघनाद ने लंका से ही देख लिया था कि मेरे पिता तिलोत्तमा के पीछे पीछे गए हैं और स्वर्ग में गए हैं ।
तो मेघनाद ने भी स्वर्ग में जाने का मन बनाया… उसे लगा शायद मेरे पिता संकट में फंस न जाएँ ।
वो गया स्वर्ग में… उसने वहाँ का दृश्य देखा…
कि उसके पिता रावण को देवों ने… यक्षों ने… सबने मिल कर घेर लिया है… उसने सोचा इन सबसे लड़कर कोई लाभ नही है… तो मेघनाद छुपकर गया इन्द्र के पास… और चुपके इन्द्र को पकड़ लिया… उसके गले में अपनी नंगी तलवार लगाते हुए बोला… सबको बोल दो… तलवार फेंक दें… नही तो मैं ।
इन्द्र डर गया… और सब देवों को बोला… अपने अपने अस्त्र-शस्त्र सब फेंक दो…।
सब ने फेंक दिए… रावण मुस्कुराया… अपने पुत्र मेघनाद की ओर देखकर बोला… वाह ! बहुत अच्छा किया तुमने ।
बाँध लो इस देवराज इन्द्र को…
मेघनाद नें बाँध लिया देवराज को… और स्वर्ग से ही घसीटता हुआ अपने लंका की ओर लेकर चला था ।
इस दृश्य को देवता लोग देख नही सके… कि उनका राजा इस तरह बंधा था… उन सबने ब्रह्मा जी से प्रार्थना की…
ब्रह्मा जी परिस्थिति को देखते ही समझ गए…
उन्होंने भगवान शंकर से प्रार्थना की… आपके शिष्य का पुत्र है… ये तो आपके शिष्य रावण से भी खतरनाक है… देवराज को इसके चंगुल से छुड़वाईये महादेव !…
भगवान शंकर ने प्रार्थना सुनी ब्रह्मा जी की…
और आकर भगवान शंकर ने… अतुलित बली इन्द्रजीत ! यही कहकर सम्बोधित किया था मेघनाद को ।
हाँ… तुम्हारा नाम आज से इन्द्रजीत होगा… और अतुलित बली !
भगवान शंकर के मुख से अपनी प्रशंसा सुनकर फूल गया इन्द्रजीत… और स्वयं पिता रावण भी… ।
अब इसको छोड़ दो वत्स !… भगवान शंकर ने कहा ।
तब रावण ने अपने पुत्र से कहा था- गुरुदेव भगवान शंकर की आज्ञा है… चलो ! इसे छोड़ दो… पर इन्द्र आज के बाद… जब-जब हम तुम्हें बुलायेंगे लंका में… तब-तब तुम्हें आना पड़ेगा ।
देवराज क्या कहते… सिर झुका कर हाँ… कहना ही पड़ा ।
ये प्रसंग सुनाया हनुमान जी ने भरत भैया को ।
पर “अतुलित बली”… आप भी तो हैं…
क्या “अतुलित बली” मात्र आप दोनों के लिए ही कहा जाता है ?…
सम्पूर्ण रामायण के पात्रों में केवल आप दोनों ही हैं अतुलित बली ?
भरत जी ने ये पूछा हनुमान जी से…
हनुमान जी संकोच से गड़े जा रहे हैं… अपनी ही प्रशंसा कैसे करें !
पर ये प्रसंग अवश्य सुनाया हनुमान जी ने भरत भैया को ।
इन्द्रजीत जैसे अस्त्रज्ञ कम ही होंगे इतिहास में… भरत भैया !
जब लंका में युद्ध की शुरुआत हुयी… तो सबसे पहले इंद्रजीत को ही रावण ने भेजा था । मैं जाऊँगा तो युद्ध ही समाप्त हो जाएगा…
इसलिये इन्द्रजीत ! पहले तुम ही जाओ… और युद्ध में विजय प्राप्त करके आओ ।
भरत भैया ! हाहाकार मचा दिया था उसने तो… आते ही ।
हमारी सेना को पहले ही दिन… उसने छिन्न-भिन्न करके रख दिया था… सुग्रीव महाराज मूर्छित हो गए थे…
जामवन्त के शरीर को बाणों से बिंध दिया था… अंगद पानी-पानी चिल्ला रहे थे… चारों ओर निराशा का वातावरण फैल गया था ।
प्रभु की आज्ञा से विभीषण निकले थे उस युद्ध भूमि को देखने के लिए… कोई अगर ज्यादा ही गम्भीर है… तो उसके उपचार की व्यवस्था विभीषण देखते थे ।
भरत भैया ! जामवन्त के सारे शरीर में इन्द्रजीत ने बाणों के प्रहार किये थे… वो अभी भी दर्द से कराह रहे थे…
सामने ही सेनापति महाराज सुग्रीव मूर्छित थे… युवराज अंगद धरती में पड़े थे… हिलने डुलने की भी उनमें हिम्मत नही थी ।
तब जामबंत ने विभीषण को अपने पास बुलाकर पूछा… पवनपुत्र कहाँ है ?
उसे कुछ हुआ तो नही है ?… वो ठीक तो है ?
जामबंत के मुख से ये सुनकर… विभीषण ने कहा था… आश्चर्य की बात है… सेनापति सुग्रीव हैं इस सेना के… युवराज अंगद हैं ।
पर आप न सेनापति के बारे में पूछते हैं… न युवराज के बारे में…
मात्र पवनपुत्र ही क्यों ?…
तब जामबंत ने कहा था… मैं तो आज के इस युद्ध से एक बात समझ गया कि… अगर पवनपुत्र को आज के युद्ध में कुछ नही हुआ… तो ये युद्ध हम जीत जाएंगे… पर आज के युद्ध से पवनपुत्र भी अगर हिल गए हैं… तो समझो… ये युद्ध हम हार गए ।
तभी मैं “जय श्री राम” के उदघोष के साथ वहाँ पहुँचा था… मेरे वहाँ पहुँचते ही सेना में उत्साह का संचार हुआ…
इन्द्रजीत को मैंने एक मुष्टिका ही मारी थी… कि वो रथ से गिरते-गिरते बचा था ।
(साधकों ! आत्मकथा लिखना… कहना… ये हमारे पूर्व की परम्परा नही है… ये परम्परा पाश्चात्य है… क्यों कि इसमें स्वयं की आत्म प्रशंसा करनी ही पड़ती है… वो हमारे यहाँ निषेध है… श्री हनुमान जी मुझे क्षमा करेंगे… कि मैं ये सब उनके नाम से लिख रहा हूँ )

The gods surrounded Ravana… Swords were drawn from all sides.
Ravan was badly trapped today… he had put his weapons down.
Brother Bharat! Meghnad had seen from Lanka itself that my father had followed Tilottama and gone to heaven.
So Meghnad also made up his mind to go to heaven… He felt that my father might not get trapped in trouble.
He went to heaven… he saw the scene there…
That his father Ravana has been surrounded by the Devas…Yakshas…all together…He thought that there is no use in fighting with all of them… So Meghnad secretly went to Indra…and secretly caught Indra…putting his naked sword on his neck Hua bola… tell everyone… throw the sword… otherwise I will.
Indra got scared… and told all the gods… throw away all your weapons….
Everyone threw it… Ravana smiled… looking at his son Meghnad said… Wow! You did very well

Meghnad tied up Devraj… and dragged him from heaven itself towards his Lanka.

Brahma ji understood as soon as he saw the situation…
He prayed to Lord Shankar… He is the son of your disciple… He is even more dangerous than your disciple Ravana… Mahadev, free Devraj from his clutches!…
Lord Shankar listened to the prayer of Brahma ji…
And Lord Shankar came… Indrajit the incomparable sacrifice! Meghnad was addressed by saying this.
Yes… your name will be Indrajit from today onwards… and incomparable Bali!
Indrajit was elated after hearing his praise from the mouth of Lord Shankar… and father Ravana himself….
Now leave it Vats!… Lord Shankar said.
Then Ravana had said to his son – It is the order of Gurudev Lord Shankar… come on! Leave it… but Indra after today… whenever we call you in Lanka… then and then you will have to come.

Then Jambant called Vibhishan to him and asked… Where is Pawanputra?

Hearing this from the mouth of Jambant… Vibhishan had said… It is surprising… The commander of this army is Sugriva… The prince is Angad.
But you neither ask about Senapati… nor about Yuvraj…
Why only Pawanputra?
