ठाकुर जी अपने बाल सखाओं के संग गोपी के घर माखन चोरी करने के उद्देश्य से गए।
गोपी अपनी चौखट के बाहर खड़ी थी।(जैसा कि आप तस्वीर में देख रहे हैं)।
ठाकुर जी ने गोपी से कही :- गोपी हमें माखन पानो हैं।
गोपी बोली :- हाँ लाला आजा।भीतर रखों हैं।ढूंढ लें और पा लें।
अभी गोपी की बात पूरी भी नहीं हुई थी कि सभी बाल सखा ठाकुर जी को वहीं छोड़ गोपी के घर में घुस गए और लगें माखन ढूंढने।बाल सखाओं ने गोपी का पूरा घर उथलपुथल कर दिया परन्तु माखन नहीं मिला।
इधर बाहर ठाकुर जी और गोपी एक दुसरे को टकटकी लगाए देख रहे है।
जब बाल सखाओं को माखन नहीं मिला तो वो थकहार कर बाहर आ गए।और ठाकुर जी से बोलें :- कन्हैया यह गोपी झूठ बोलती हैं।हमनें इसका पूरा घर छान मारा।इसके घर में माखन हैं ही नहीं।
ठाकुर जी :- मुझे भी पता हैं कि इसके घर मे माखन नहीं हैं।
बाल सखा :- कन्हैया जब तुझे पता हती कि गोपी के घर पर माखन नहीं है तो व्यर्थ मे हमारा इतना परिश्रम काहे करवा।
ठाकुर जी :- पहली बात तो जे की हमनें तुमते कब कही कि या गोपी के घर में माखन ढूंढो।और दुसरी बात यह गोपी भी झूठ नहीं बोल रही।
बाल सखा :- कन्हैया अभी थोड़ी देर पहले इस गोपी ने स्वयं कही कि माखन भीतर रखों हैं।ढूंढ लें और पा लें।
ठाकुर जी :- इस गोपी ने कही कि आजा लाला।भीतर रखों हैं।ढूंढ लें और पा लें।
इसने ये ना कही कि जा लाला भीतर रखों हैं।इसने तो कही आजा लाला भीतर रखों हैं।ढूंढ लें और पा लें।जबकि वह स्वयं घर के बाहर खड़ी है।इसके जा और आजा के भेद को तुम समझ ना सकें।
यह उस माखन की बात कर रही हैं।जो इसने अपने मन की मथानी से मथा हैं।तुम इसके घर के भीतर माखन ढूंढ रहे थे और मैं इसके मन की मथानी में रखें माखन का भोग लगा रहा था।
गोपी अभी भी बेसुध सी वहीं खड़ी है।उसे नहीं पता कि ठाकुर जी और बाल सखाओं के बीच क्या बात हो रही हैं।वो तो अभी भी अपने मन की मथानी का माखन निकाल निकाल कर ठाकुर जी को पवा रही हैं।

Thakur ji with his child friends went to Gopi’s house for the purpose of stealing butter.
Gopi was standing outside her door frame. (as you see in the picture).
Thakur ji said to the gopi: – Gopi we have to eat butter.
Gopi said: – Yes Lala aaja. Keep it inside. Find and get it.
Even now Gopi’s talk was not fulfilled that all the Bal Sakhas left Thakur ji there and entered Gopi’s house and started looking for Makhan. The Bal Sakhas made the entire house of Gopi in turmoil but the butter was not found. Here outside, Thakur ji and Gopi are looking at each other with their gaze.
When Baal Sakhas did not get Makhan, they came out tired. And speak to Thakur ji:- Kanhaiya this gopi tells lies. We searched his entire house. There is no butter in his house.
Thakur ji: I also know that there is no butter in his house.
Bal Sakha:- Kanhaiya, when you would have known that there is no butter at Gopi’s house, then why should we do so much hard work in vain.
Thakur ji:- First of all, when did we tell you whether or not to find butter in the house of the gopi. And secondly, even this gopi is not lying.
Bal Sakha :- Kanhaiya Just a while back, this gopi himself said that butter should be kept inside. Find and get it.
Thakur ji :- This gopi said that aaja lala. Keep it inside. Find and get it. It did not say that you should keep Lala inside. It has said that you have kept Lala inside. Find and find it. While she herself is standing outside the house. You cannot understand the difference between her and her.
She is talking about the butter that she has churned out of her heart.
Gopi is still standing there helpless. She does not know what is going on between Thakur ji and the Bal Sakhas. She is still taking out the butter from her chutney and serving it to Thakur ji.
