जसुमति मैया ने देखा कि गाँव के अधिकांश बालक गुरूजी से शिक्षा ग्रहण करने जाते हैं, चाहे अति अल्पकाल के लिये ही सही, किन्तु प्रत्येक बालक जाता अवश्य है गुरूशाला, फिर मेरा ही कन्हैया क्यों नहीं जाता? मैया चिन्तित हो गई, इतना बड़ा हो गया, अब मैं भी इसे शिक्षा ग्रहण करने गुरूजी के पास भेजूँगी।
ऐसा विचार कर मैया आँगन में ऊधम मचाते कन्हैया को पकड़ लाई और बोली- लाड़ले शीघ्र ही स्नानादि कर तत्पर हो जाओ, आज मैं तुम्हें पढ़ने गुरूजी के पास भेजूंगी।
सहसा आई इस स्थिति से नटखट कन्हैया अचकचा गये।
उन्होंने मैया से पूछा- मैया गुरूजी से क्या पढ़ा क्या जाता है?
मैया ने कहा- वेद-शास्त्रों का ज्ञान पढ़ा जाता हैं मेरे लाड़ले।
कन्हैया बोले- मैया! वेद-शास्त्रों का ज्ञान पढ़ने से क्या होता है?
मैया बोली- तत्वज्ञान होता है।
कन्हैया- ये तत्व क्या होता है मैया?
मैया- परमात्मा ही तत्व है, लाड़ले।
कन्हैया ने पुनः पूछा- मैया, परमात्मा के तत्व को जानने से क्या होता है?
मैया ने भी पुनः उत्तर दिया- भगवान् की भक्ति मिलती है।
नटखट नन्हे कान्हा अभी भी कहाँ चुप रहने वाले हैं, उन्हें तो आज मानों प्रश्न पर प्रश्न पूछ कर मैया से ही सम्पूर्ण ज्ञान प्राप्त कर लेना है। वह पुनः बोले- मैया, भक्ति से क्या मिलेगा?
मैया ने कहा- भक्ति से भगवान् की प्रसन्नता, उनके दर्शन, उनका धाम, उनकी सेवा मिलती है।
कन्हैया- यह तो सत्य है मैया! किन्तु तू यह बता कि उनके धाम में तू और बाबा भी मिलेंगे या नहीं और यह माखनचोरी भी करने को मिलेगी या नहीं?
मैया ने अपने लाड़ले लला को दुलारते, पुचकारते समझाते हुये कहा- ओ मेरे प्राणप्रिय माखनचोर वहाँ माखन की कोई आवश्यकता न होगी, वहाँ शारीरिक भूख-प्यास नहीं लगती, केवल भक्ति (सेवा) की ही भूख बढ़ती रहती है और जीव का जीव से संबंध नहीं हुआ करता, सारे संबंध भगवान् से ही नित्य हैं।
इतना सुनना है कि नटखट नन्हे कान्हा बिफर उठे, कमलनयनों में मोटे-मोटे आँसू झलक आये, बिसूरते हुये बोले- मैया जहाँ तू नही, बाबा नहीं, ग्वाल-बाल नहीं, माखनचोरी नहीं, वहाँ मैं क्यों जाऊँ? क्यों जाऊँ मैया! नहीं जाऊँगा।
और फिर प्रारम्भ हो गईं गहरी गहरी सुबकियाँ व हिचकियाँ, मैया, मुझे नही लेना ऐसा धाम, ऐसी भक्ति, जहाँ सखाओं के संग माखनचोरी का आनन्द नहीं, भूख-प्यास नहीं, वहाँ मैं क्यों जाऊँ? क्या करूँगा मैं वहाँ जाकर? नहीं जाऊँगा।
मैया हतप्रभ ! हृदय में करूणा और वात्सल्य का सागर उमढ़ने लगा हाय! क्यों मैं ऐसा कर बैठी? मेरा लाड़ला प्राण-धन, इतने अश्रु अनवरत! मन में इतनी पीड़ा दे बैठी इसे, मैया विचलित हो गई।
श्रीकृष्ण ने अपना बालरूप माधुर्य बढ़ा दिया और मैया का वात्सल्य प्रेम माधुर्य बढ़ गया। लाल की पीड़ा देखकर मैया की आंखों से भी झर-झर अश्रु बहने लगे और सारा तत्वज्ञान अपने प्राणधन के प्रेम में बह गया।
इधर नटखट कान्हा का रो-रो कर बुरा हाल! क्यों मैं वेद-शास्त्र पढ़ूं? अपने मैया बाबा और ग्वाल सखाओं से दूर होने के लिये?
द्रवित और अभिभूत मैया को अतिशय प्रभावित कर, नटखट नन्हे कान्हा ने मैया की ओर कारूणिक दृष्टि से देख कर अत्यधिक अबोध मासूम स्वर में मनुहार करते हुये कहा-
मैया, बहुत जोर कि भूख लगी है नवनीत और दधि खाने को दे न!
विह्वल अधीर मैया ने अपने प्राणप्रिय कन्हैया को निर्धनी के धन की तरह अपनी बाहों में भींच लिया।
धन्य हैं परात्पर प्रभु! धन्य हैं यशोदा मैया!
भगवान् की लीलाओं का स्मरण चिंतन या जिस किसी प्रकार से भी मन श्रीकृष्ण में लगे उसका नाम भक्ति। भक्ति अनंत प्रकार की होती है, तरीका वेद-शास्त्रों में मत देखो।
उनका नाम, रूप, लीला, गुण, धाम और उनके स्वजन यह सब भगवान् हैं।
६४ दिवस में ६४ कलाओं में सिद्धहस्त हो जाने वाले भक्तवत्सल प्रभु की धन्य है ऐसी वात्सल्यमयी सुलभ बाललीला।
जय हो! नटखट माखनचोर! नंदलाल यशोदानंदन ब्रजदुलारे!
वन्देsहं सद्गुरु चरणम्।
Jasumati Maiya saw that most of the children of the village go to take education from Guruji, even if it is only for a very short time, but every child must go to the Gurushala, then why does Kanhaiya not go to my own school? Thinking like this, Maya caught Kanhaiya, who was hustle in the courtyard, and said – Ladla, get ready soon after taking a bath, today I will send you to Guruji to study.
Suddenly, the naughty Kanhaiya was taken aback by this situation. He asked Maya – what is learned from Maya Guruji?
Maya said- The knowledge of Vedas and scriptures is read by my dear ones.
Kanhaiya said – Maya! What happens by reading the knowledge of Vedas and Shastras?
Maya quote – There is philosophy.
Kanhaiya – What is this element, Maya?
Maya – God is the only element, dear.
Kanhaiya again asked- Maya, what happens by knowing the element of God?
Maya also replied again – God’s devotion is available.
Where are the naughty little Kanhas still going to remain silent, today they have to ask question after question and get complete knowledge from Maya itself. He said again – Maya, what will you get from devotion?
Maya said – By devotion one gets the pleasure of the Lord, His darshan, His abode, His service.
Kanhaiya- It’s true, Maya! But tell me whether you and Baba will also meet in their dham or not and whether they will get to do buttermilk or not?
Maya, while pampering her beloved son, said, “O my dear Makhanchor, there will be no need for butter there, there is no physical hunger and thirst, only the hunger for devotion (service) keeps on increasing and the soul’s relationship with the living being.” It doesn’t happen, all relations are eternal with God.
To hear so much that the naughty little Kanha woke up, there were tears in the lotus hairs, she said with dismay, “Miya, where you are not, Baba, not Gwal-Bal, not Makhanchori, why should I go there?” Why should I go? I will not go And then started deep deep succulents and hiccups, Maya, I do not take such a place, such devotion, where there is no joy of buttermilk with friends, no hunger and thirst, why should I go there? What shall I do if I go there? I will not go
My heartbroken! The ocean of compassion and affection started overflowing in my heart! Why did I do this? My dear life-wealth, so many tears relentlessly! It was giving so much pain in the mind, Maya got distracted.
Shri Krishna increased his childlike melody and Maya’s affectionate love melody increased. Seeing Lal’s pain, tears started flowing from Maya’s eyes and all the philosophy got swept away in the love of her life. Here the naughty Kanha’s weeping bad condition! Why should I study Vedas? To get away from your Maiya Baba and Gwal Sakhas? Very impressed by the moved and overwhelmed Maiya, the naughty little Kanha, looking at Maiya with compassion, pleaded in a very innocent innocent voice and said- Maia, it is very loud that I am hungry, don’t give Navneet and Dadhi to eat!
The furious impatient Maiya clenched her dear Kanhaiya in her arms like the wealth of the poor.
