बरसाने के पास एक छोटा सा स्थान है मोर-कुटी। एक समय की बात है जब लीला करते हुए राधाजी प्रभु से रूठ गयी और वो रूठ के मोर-कुटी पर जा के बैठ गयी और वहां एक मोर से लाड करने लगीं। जब हमारे ठाकुर जी उन्हें मनाने के लिए मोर-कुटी पर पधारे तो देखा कि राधे जू हमसे तो रूठ गयी और उस मोर से प्यार कर रही है। ठाकुर जी को उस मोर से ईर्ष्या होने लगी। वो राधारानी को मनाने लगे तो किशोरी जी ने ये शर्त रख दी कि हे! बांके बिहारी मेरी नाराजगी तब दूर होगी जब तुम इस मोर को नृत्य प्रतियोगिता में हरा कर दिखाओगे। ठाकुर जी इस बात पर तैयार हो गए क्योंकि उस नन्द के छोरे को तो नाचने का बहाना चाहिए। जब राधारानी के सामने नाचने कि बात हो तो कौन पीछे हटे।
प्रतियोगिता प्रारंभ हुई, एक तरफ मोर जो पूरे विश्व में अपने नृत्य के लिए विख्यात है, और दूसरी ओर हमारे नटवर नागर नन्द किशोर। प्रभु उस मयूर से बहुत अच्छा नाचने लगे पर फिर किशोरी जी को लगा कि यदि बांके बिहारी जीत गए तो बरसाने के मोर किसी को मुँह नहीं दिखा पाएंगे। स्वयं राधा के गांव के मोर एक ग्वाले से न जीत सके। इसलिए किशोरी जी ने अपनी कृपामयी दृष्टि उस मोर पर डाल दी और फिर वो मोर ऐसा नाचा कि उसने ठाकुर जी को थका दिया। सच है जिस पर राधे जू कृपा दृष्टि डाल दे, वो तो प्रभु को भी हरा सकता है। जिसने राधारानी के प्यार को जीत लिया समझो उसने कृष्ण जी को भी जीत लिया क्योंकि ठाकुर जी तो हमारी किशोरी जी के चरणों के सेवक हैं। हम यदि अपनी जिह्वा से राधा नाम गाते हैं, तो उसमे हमारा कोई पुरुषार्थ नहीं है, वो तो उनकी कृपा ही है जो हमारे मुख पर उनका नाम आया। पूरा राधा कहने कि भी आवश्यकता नहीं है, आप अपनी वाणी कहो सिर्फ “रा”, ये रा सुनते ही बांके बिहारी के कान खड़े हो जाते हैं, और जब आप आगे बोलते हो “धा” मतलब आप बोलते हो “राधा”, तो बांके बिहारी के कान नहीं फिर तो बांके बिहारी ही खड़े हो जाते हैं। उस भक्त के साथ चलने के लिए।
